  1. I'm in the 5.0-5.5 camp. Stains are tough.
  2. Heavy spine stress. Rounded corners and Heavy impact blunting. Large color breaking crease through the Lizard's coat. I'm thinking 3.5.
  3. That's where I'm at. Possibly some water damage/tide lines back cover. Stain back cover. General moderate/heavy spine stress. 3.0 IMHO.
  4. I'm going higher with a press and a clean. Its 7.0 for me.
  5. Yes. Mine was 8 business days. Delivered 5/13 recieved/scheduled 5/23.
  6. I think you'll get a 4.0-4.5 with a press and clean. Lower without.
  7. I see some pressable defects. 4.0 to 4.5 for me.
  8. Could have just ended it there with a question mark...
  9. Thanks! I was curious how that worked. Know I understand the elusive "received" status!
  10. ⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️ This! ⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️
  11. So, with this submission, did you actually see a "received" notation? I thought that wasn't a thing any more. Is that something they do for on-site submissions, but not shipped items? My Modern FT books, for example, were delivered USPS on 5/13/19 and show received 5/23/19. They immediately went to "Scheduled for Grading" in the notes at the same time. That would mean my books were scheduled for grading before yours, but recieved after? Confusing. I dislike the fact that "receiving" is used to push turn around times out 2 weeks...without actually noting that on the turn around times posted on the website. Absolutely misleading. It took 8 business days to check my books in. Turn around time was listed at 11 days at the time. At this point I'm at 16 total business days (excluding Memorial Day) (almost 4 calendar weeks), with 8 of those days being after the books were "received". Turn around times are now at 13 days. Hammer me for whining, but I know I'm not the only one. I believe CGC should get the books in system within a day or 2, bring back the "received" notation for all submissions and track books the old (and much better) way. Then, post realistic turn around times that start at "received". Right now modern fast track should be at about 21 business days by my estimation. over...
  12. Participants will be rewarded with a confirmation of grading prowess when the book returns from CGC in a few weeks! This book was rough, rough, rough when I bought it. I paid waayyy too much, but this is the only one I've ever seen in 20 years of collecting (I've heard of a few, but never actually laid eyes on them.). Consistently listed as one of the top ten rarest 35 Cent Variants with an estimate of 15-30 still in existence! This book has been pressed, re-aligned and cleaned to the best extent possible and is pictured as such. There is some water staining on 3 interior pages and some staining on the back cover. A bit of light foxing is present on the front and back covers. There is a 1" pressure tear by the "F" in Fury. The book is slightly miscut as well. I have an idea of what I think it will grade...but....Here's your chance to take a shot at a low/mid grade bronze age book and then see if CGC agrees! If nothing else, just for fun! (Sorry the pictures aren't great, but they are all I have.)
  13. PGX has a newish label...without the globe thingy...
  14. I wouldn't go that far. Get the $150 package and submit 6 moderns or 3 Standard level books and you're even.
  15. Yes. I'd agree that the 9.2 is on the lower spectrum of the grade. Probably just made the grade. I assume the pristine back cover, nice color, white pages and decent centering likely contributed to the books overall grade.
