  1. a note - "he's supposedly going to be in black panther, fantastic four and something else" Would make sense for the BP move - but he is not going to be in any FF movie unless Marvel/Disney make more deals. They are essentially dropping the comic book line for spite. Be careful of buying on hype ---- if you get caught in any uptick of "movie" hype - you may not be able to get back your investment. Buying multiple copies of a "klaw" book may be somewhat of a stretch (but who knows).... Think of the low grade JLA #1s you have - the movie has already been announced- do you expect a huge uptick on very low grade copies? The book itself is already a key - so there will probably be some increase year to year (and possibly some movie uptick) - but any big rise would probably be seen with a specific JLA storyline or the real first appearance of the JLA (BATB). Maybe a better way to think of it - diversify! - you already have 2 of the first Klaw (and JLA #1) - great if there is any more of a bump to be had you are covered for additional profit. If you want to look for more - search out different books that you can get for a good price. The copper black panther 1s - they may see a better price rise as the movie approaches as they are more affordable to begin with. I do not know your area - but around Chicago there are several mini cons a year. Most dealers will give you a good break if you buy in bulk and there are great flippable books that can be ebayed for profit. You will not be making hundreds a book this way - but starting small is they way to go and being able to move a bunch of $10 books that you paid $5 each (or less?) for will get you experience. Above all - do NOT focus on movie hype as your only area to work in. It is a very unpredictable zone - dc has not made anything good recently except for batman. Movie hype for them may be hard to come by. Marvel? - has been hitting big on some - average on others. Nobody can predict what will happen when one of their movies really bombs (maybe we will see after ant man, )
  2. Only just noticed this. As a big duck fan, I wonder what you got? thanks for tuning into this thread I sold all my donald duck comics but one four color 291 pm me if interested c'mon man, you gotta put that in the updates! What happened to the AF15 recreation? People are paying attention here...don't leave us hanging. so you mean every time I get a update instead of posting it in the first page you want me to post is as a regular comment? won't that become messy? doubt many people following would check back at that first page too often
  3. cgc - 12 month average for 9.0 is around 430 - but the latest couple of sales were higher.
  4. You're just now posting this bad boy here? Nice book. Good to have a little NDS company. -J. PS: Harvey, don't forget, it's "2015" now. for a bit I was considering selling it - then I forgot until I saw the thread reboot......
  5. Thx! Was a real cool find (collection full of the insert books) - presents much nicer than the grade as well (some interior water issues prevent higher).
  6. Hey - one of few "clubs" I can join...... with National Diamond insert!!!
  7. VCC - teaser (or joke fodder - hey - it is my first VCC after all, )
  8. Anyone else curious what a "read book" price amounts to? I have an idea what the seller wanted There was a King-Size #6 in the pics, I bet that's what he was referring to. I think he had both on the list Looking at the list - (the seller was pretty detailed) - he had dates as well - king size 6 lines up with the production date in his list. There is also a "giant size" spidey 6 in there (and that is the one on the sheet he sent). I did not even look at the dates when running the list or I would have picked up on it - but given this was a typical - for FC... - the Chicago based boardies know what I paid - so I do not mind people knowing - was under $2 a book. I usually average when recordkeeping - so say 2 a book for the ones that "matter" (marvel/dc) - the rest are probably ones to blow out as readers for .50/each. I have seen similar lots from "neat stuff" roll for 5/10 a book in bulk so I will more than break even on the ones I get rid of. later and good luck to others Dave
  9. Thanks to all for comments - it was a pretty easy decision to buy - condition hurts - but the price made it a really good value. Was one of those times when you deal with a collector, He had a clue - but knew that it would be a pain to sell individually so he sold at a discount. I have gotten really lucky with my CL finds. I like a lot of the off books in this one - many first appearances and first issues. Crazy too that other boardies were after it as well.
  10. I was emailing this guy as well, Lake Forest IL, right? That ASM 121, looks like a piece of the cover is missing LLC or is the cover torn? yea - that guy, - no split on the ASM - a little blunted
  11. nope - he had one on the list but (according to him anyway, ) - he did not have it. the condition is all over the place - but good enough. The GSXmen - probably a 3 at best. The missing chunk of cover and a spine split hurt -but that one is a keeper for me so condition is not major league important. The ASM 121- probbaly a 4/5 - that one I may get pressed/graded. There is a large crease across part of the cover - but it looks like CSS or others may be able to improve it, Later
  12. final one - more in there but this is the cream of the crop the GSXmen ---- UGH - still REAL nice - but that missing piece of the cover is just a shame (it is in GREAT shape if not for that)
  13. ok - more of the better items ... though the older ones quality falls off - that FF has some spine wear you cannot see .....
  14. starting to get interesting now........ he had a LOT of the "giant size" books
  15. building up a little too - more good stuff about 640 books ~ 100 DC ~ 100 harvey/dell/gold key/archie/atlas (mostly bronze) rest marvel he had a stack of the old 7-11 marvel slurpee cups too - passed on those as I had no idea what they go for (and I only brought enough $$$ for the books).
  16. total is around 600 books silver/bronze condition is rough on some of the silver - all are "read" not a big deal for me (I paid a "read book" price). anyone know how to dump the "~original" from photobucket links? - I hate having to delete that for my links to work
  17. SO - lazy day = been playing email tag with a CL ad for a week - thought nothing would happen.,,,,,,
  18. Great...now I'm craving Giordanos, thank you. It's only an eight hour drive Jim Don't worry…ended up making myself hungry, too. Old Chicago Pizza Yea no.... Chicago doesn't make pizza. They make Sauce Pie. It's gross. Please NEVER refer to that stuff as pizza. THIS is pizza Quoted for truth. You people are all BEGGING for someone to start complaint threads about being off-topic. (Yes, I'm poking fun at the OT police.) Totally on topic, we are going to buy pizza with the millions of monies we make from this coin from an avengers book paying dividends. Pay attention! Ohhhhhh... I see. Carry on! But wait...does that mean that the flow of the conversation organically meandered into pizza, tangentially from the millions of monies of Avengers dividends....? This OT stuff is very confusing. Now I'm terrified. PIZZA COINS!!!!
  19. My understanding is that CBC are purchased with Ripple. It's just an intermediate. Ripple price changes wouldn't matter, assuming they aren't sitting on their Ripple. And yeah Bitcoin has been boringly and reliably downhill for a while now. Ooh just checked and it's gone below $200 now. Ouch. mmmmmmmm ripple
