I’ve also talked about being at Gary Carter’s house back in the day when he brought out a stack of Church pre-Batman ‘Tecs that he was selling. I remember the 6 because it was a second-hand copy (lower grade) and cheap, so I bought it. Also bought the 19 and 23, which were comparatively inexpensive. I moved those 3 books long ago.

Didn’t have the money to purchase any other issues, that was my one and only opportunity...

    This one??

I like to run my books in a 1 week auction if they don't sell and then rinse and repeat - am i going to have to cancel all the books a couple hours before they close and then relist them as auction.  i get a lot of action the last couple hours before the books close so this will generally suck.  Why e-bay - why?

I think the good til cancelled is only for fixed price listings, not auctions.

--- think his strategy is to run fixed for "x" days - no sale, then list at auction , no sale - then relist back as fixed ... So now 1C has to 'remember' to cancel the fixed now and port over to an auction.....

If you want an X-Men 1 then it's not a terrible trade.  You could sell your two keys and get about $7,000 after fees and then you would need to pony up $800 - $900 for the X-Men 1.  The trade makes it a lot less work and only cost you about $100 compared to simply buying the books.  Two bronze age keys for a Silver-Age key is not a bad way to go in the grand scheme of things.

    Plus $1000 cash???

  4. and define long term.....

trading 2 keys plus cash for one key ---- you should not really end up under water to start -

how are you valuing each comic -

exactly because first you need to upload the image to your server or whatever you are using to host the images - then copy and paste link into TL. If im doing that already i might as well upload direct to ebay.

Well - they may have checnged it ( been very lazy the last few months) - i was just using TL with no hosting. I could just add the pics to the individual entry. Took forever - but no separate host...

Thanks - yes i recently downloaded turbo lister again ( i removed it about a year ago). it still works. The "publisher" thing is from ebay , not turbo lister. i dont find it much easier to list with TL as i need to copy and paste 'html item description' for each listing and copy and paste 'image urls'. it takes about the same time to just list 1 by 1 on ebay single listing.

-- Figured out how to get the "publisher" thing to work with turbolister... Involved adding a field to the listing - not real obvious how to do it....

In any case - I was toying with the ebay lister - had not tried that in a long time. They incorporated a lot of the turbolister functions. Not an exact copy and still many items I like with turbolister that are not there. In the end - I am faster with the ebay listings mostly because the image uploader works faster.. Adding images with turbo - just dragged for me...

    Turbo lister

This even active anymore? my turbo lister worked for a long time after they stopped supporting it - now it will not allow for me to upload stating that I need to select a "publisher" --- even though there is no way that I see to do this......

    just learned this:

    when meeting someone new:

clear your mind or slow down whatever thoughts are racing through your head,

after hearing their name try to repeat their name back 2-3x: once as confirmation and again informing that it's nice to meet them and try to work it into whatever small talk or conversation a third time.

but most importantly, while you are hearing their name immediately take a mental picture of their face and come up with an image of something related to their name and picture it somehow attached to their face or smashing into their face:

    example:

Mike: picture a microphone coming out of their nose or ear.

John: picture a toilet on their head.

Paul: phonetically similar to Ball, picture a ball hitting them in the head.

the more absurd the better and always use the same image for the same name.

it takes a little practice but the next time you meet another John you will associate that new persons face with a toilet which will allow you to automatically recall the nmonic associated with their face.

for long foreign complicated names, it helps to break it up phonetically and picture things that sound similar.

What if their name is Rick....or Deloras......

    :whee:
