Not sure what your question is.  Assuming you're asking if the comic is graded correctly:

I see some damage to the top right corner and a very small tape pull.
Spine looks very nice and the corners look pretty good.
I might go with 9.2 based on those defects but I do see what looks like large, numerous horizontal creases around the Four in Fantastic Four.  The apparent creases worry me, they may be an optical illusion but the book may have been pressed incorrectly and reverted or something else is going on.

I also see several comments about poor communication and he didn't reply to those comments.  While his feedback isn't awful that's a moderate concern.   I want to deal with a seller who communicates well and replies to negatives and tries to address problems, especially when buying a book like this.

Looking at the seller's items sold and items for sale I see nothing recently sold or for sale that's worth anywhere near the value of this book.  That's not necessarily a concern but it does make me wonder if the seller is selling a bunch of cheaper items to set up a large scam.

I also see he's posted pics of the four corners of this book.  Perhaps he does that for every graded book he sells, not a bad idea, or perhaps he knows the book has reverted and he's doing it to cover his arse and make it harder for the buyer to return this book.

    I'd pass on this book.

What is also concerning is this specific seller has also sold this book 2x already,,,,,   ( cgc certs match)

  2. Update - customer service emailed me today stating the order was finalized but my credit card expired.

Problem is - my credit card is not expired and has already processed the CCS portion of the payment on 11/7......  Card does not expire until 2023.

Keep trying to use the email/CS contacts on the main we site with answers coming at a very slow rate and now raising an issue that does not exist.

So 5 business days late and counting for an express order.

edit - tried to call the customer service rep that emailed me the latest excuse - phone number would not connect to her .. the 'call by name' feature did not work and she did not give ne an extension.

Express order for 6 books - 12 day estimated lead time ( press and slab)

Delivered Monday October 31st - counting Nov 1st as the first business day.

Today is the 17th business day - with grading appearing to take 2x as long as the estimates.

I understand that you call; them estimates - but 2x as long for an express order?  I have files customer service submissions 2x on this order with no real information beyond the canned/scripted answers.

There was this earlier this year.  Don't know if that included said comic.

So - found at a garage sale - for TEC 38 does not really add up - suspicious for sure ( and the asking price realistically will tell much more)

That stolen collection - the owner did have a TEC 38 in 8.0........ ( from his registry set) ---

Is it this one I take it?  Is it wireless do you know? I live in an apartment and don't want anything too big and basically want to keep it under my bed and pull it out as needed...

The 550 is not large enough  for slabs -

Mine is the V600, not the 550.  I have no idea if it has wireless capability.  I'm sure the technical write-up on the sales page will tell you.

    -- that explains it ---

The V600 has - 12-line Epson Matrix CCD as the image tech. These work best for slabs - the V600 is the least expensive I have seen - would be a good choice for the price ( looks like 230 street)

Most new scanners - use a different tech - CIS - that is not slab friendly.

Looks like only USB 2.0 connection

This simply isn't true.  Older inexpensive HP scanner, but I get essentially identical images from an Epson scanner purchased last year (for another purpose, ultra high resolution scans of Kodachrome slides):

For more examples, there's GhostTown's fantastic registry set of picture frame Marvels, over 350 scanner images with great color and clarity:

I've been debating buying a scanner since I started collecting again.  It would be fun to have one I think however the only reason I'd buy one is to scan Slabs and I am not a dealer.  So that being said are there any small/cheap (around $100) wireless scanners on the market that scan slabs well that anyone can recommend?

Kind of depends on why u are scanning -

Standard scanners today are not good at depth. Work for raw - but slabs are fuzzy. Not that good for selling.

Consensus is usually to ebay/craigslist an older scanner like an 8300 and use vuescan.

Long and best overall discussion thready, best to start from the end and read backwards for the latest recommendations.

A decent thread with some other slab image options. Some image apps work ok for cell phones.

     good

Thanks for all the responses! Okay, uploaded all the pictures. Seller wants 15k for it. My ultimate goal is to crack it and get it pressed & cleaned to try and get that 9.8!

You said you have the book - then 'the seller wants 15K'

    Which is it?

Book was sold for 13,400 july 31 by ebay "seller" midbloom2001

I put "seller" in quotes - the ebay user has no other sales for the part 12 months.....

Book is currently listed for sale by  nekobooks (ebay)

Book was also sold by nekobooks on 8-19    seller received positive feedback for the sale

The images you posted were from the July 31st sale

    What gives?
