  1. Not a crazy transaction, but not exactly typical either. The year was 2008, and I was living in Scottsdale, Arizona. So after finishing my daily routine of scouting for art in CAF, eBay, every dealer's website, dragonberry (remember?), and whatever other dark corner of the web offered art, I decided to check Craigslist. I go through my fav artist names search, And there I see it; "trading my Drew Hayes Poison Elves original art for guns." I'm a sucker for early PE art, so I contacted the guy immediately. We met at a Walmart parking lot and agreed to a deal. No, I did not trade guns but gave him this shoddy compound crossbow that I had for years for the inside back cover of Issue # 1. We briefly talked about guns and original art, but I will never forget the look on his face when he said, "I can't wait for Drew to start working on a new book." And I replied, "Well...It's going to be really difficult because he died a few months ago." A week after, he called me to see if I would trade it back for a Smith & Wesson. I declined, and I still have the art.
  2. I was really digging the Marc Silvestri Inferno Promo piece. I was hoping it would be forgotten since it auctioned off on Sunday. No such luck. Healthy price at $55,200.00
  3. Keith Sandman 1 hammered at 84k. I think we are still scratching the surface with this material
  4. I thought so too, considering the image of Psylocke in her undies.
  5. Mike Dringenberg Sandman #8 page hammered at $90K. It's sort of what I expected as it's Not too far off from the selling price of the first appearance of Morpheus. But part of me feels it should have gone higher, above the 100K mark. Me thinks, these pages are just scratching the surface.
  6. Bollands Dredd Cover selling for $144,000 really surprised me. I think it's one of its best, if not the best, in the series. I just didn't think Dredd material would go that high. Congrats go the seller.
  7. I don't think the Kieth Lucifer page is that far off from the current asking price. A bit high, but not crazy high. I really don't know how to price the Death page. My first thought was 100K, but I wouldn't be surprised if it hits $150K.
  8. Mitch, your question was fair and valid. I did not expect Glen to respond in such a manner.
  9. Netflix Sandman Series is just around the corner too. Rarely see pages from this book.
  10. The auction is starting to look good...again. Bob Larkin Dazzler #1 Cover is very fascinating, as mentioned in a previous post. Any guesses on this one? John Byrne Marvel Graphic Novel #18 The Sensational She-Hulk page is a beauty. Mike Dringenberg Sandman #8 page definetly has my attention. It has been eons since pages from this book were offered publicly.
  11. Really? I'm taking the under if you are predicting $350K. Mike Dringenberg Sandman House Ad selling for $96K threw me for a loop on the last auction. I thought it would go higher. Yes, I know, it's apples and oranges, but somehow I have the same feeling about this one. So I'm going to say $99K.
  12. I used to think the same with some of these items being overpriced. However, last year ComicArtLive, I sold a Zacks Kraven's Last Hunt page for $7K. Six months later, it sells for $28K in Heritage and immediately re-sells for $43K. They seem overpriced during the Comic Art Live sells event, but they can quickly skyrocket during an auction. I will not be surprised if we see some of these pages in one of the upcoming auctions. https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/mike-zeck-and-bob-mcleod-spectacular-spider-man-131-story-page-21-kraven-s-last-hunt-original-art-marvel-1987-/a/7242-91021.s?ic4=ListView-ShortDescription-071515
  13. Great example, from an awesome series. Excelelnt pick up.
  14. Albert Moy was there Saturday. He brought a decent stack of nice stuff with him.
  15. Price Update After talking to Albert in Baltimore. He is now asking $25K for his last Sandman # 1 page (No Morpheus).
  16. I’m inclined to believe the contrary. Dringenberg Sandman 8 pages are quite rare. But also SSH1 1 pages I suppose. The “Not so great” pages with no Morpheus from Kieth’s Sandman 1 sell for around $15K. I think Sandman 8 gets a bump. How much is a SSH1 pages with no She-Hulk, or no Jennifer Walters for that matter? Are they really over $15K?
  17. Thank you for the awesom pics. Do you happen to recall the asking price of Kieth's Sandman 1 pg 37 in Alberts booth?
