  1. Quick question, gang. With the upcoming Outcast show this may merit some discussion. WD 127 came out 1 month before Outcast #1. It contains a 3 page intro where Kyle Barnes is fully pictured, called by his first name and at the end of the prologue the statement is made that the story continues in Outcast #1 next month. Outcast #1 is listed as the first appearance and I'm sure the character is explored in much greater detail. Any thoughts on this either way?

Isn't there the exact same thing for walking dead #1 that no one cares about?

  2. What do they mean by "all episodes on April 10th"?

    Like... How many??

    13.

hm I dont know what to make of that.. 13 shows.. wham! just like that

    that.... is freaking sweet! :headbang:

Binge watching is the only way to go. I don't even watch shows until the full season is available. Netflix is doing it right, House of Cards was incredible.

It’s essential that we get to build that core cast that informs who Gwen Stacy is as much if not more than her spider powers. So we’ll see a lot of her father, Captain Stacy, and her band The Mary Janes, and we’ll also meet a lot of new takes on Marvel heroes and villains.”

This quote reinforces the likelihood of an "alternate universe" story line.

Ya, some nice alternate universe background, before she joins secret wars BATTLEWORLD with every other character.

I'm definitely interested to see how they do this since the character is premised on a "what if" concept that seems to like to play off different incarnations/re-imaginings of other existing characters as well. I'm almost thinking it would be more interesting leaving her in her own "alternate universe" where all of those different takes on other characters can actually happen, rather than her being one of three other featured "spider-women" in the same continuity.

She was never a "what if" character, she exists in another universe which was what the in continuity spider verse was all about. She was always meant to interact with the 616 universe.

This alone makes me super excited that her series. I would love it if they mirrored the first spiderman run, with her fighting Doc-Squid in issue 3 and the Golden Goblin in issue 14.

  6. Im a big believer in the sustainability of this book (eosv2) and the character.. How many trends did we see come and go in the past few months that Spider Gwen has been in existence? Tens? hundreds?? This book has not went down or out of demand for a minute.. Im holding on to my remaining copies for awhile

Totally agree, if marvel handles this character correctly I can see her being around for a very long time. Harley Quinn anyone?

  7. Can I leave a negative feedback if someone sold me 2 copies of the hot topic at 35 and 30 2 days ago and now doesn't want to send them because of how high the prices are?

This happens all the time in the magic the gathering card market. Prices can spike in hours, buyouts happen instantly because of speculation. Some sellers refuse to send a $30 card they sold for $3, they get neg'd and lose all business. Sellers that send the card for the pre-spike price have tons more regular business than the schlub that refuses to. Neg this guy, there's no room in the market for sellers like him. In fact, PM me his ID so I can block him.

  8. I would think the digital sales would have to make up for some of these numbers. Kind of like low rated TV shows that do well with DVR secondary replays. I wonder if anyone can guess the collector/reader base from these sales figures?

I'm pretty sure it's TPBs that keep these type of books alive. There are plenty of people that trade-wait, especially for cliffhanger type books like birthright that read a lot better in trade.
