For Niagara Falls Comic Con, I am using Carlos at Gotham Central in Mississauga to get books done. I hope this is a better experience than Paradise.

Wait, so did you get reimbursed sig fees? Would you even want it graded w/o the sig?
...What do you mean you never got the book back?
I didn’t notice the missing signature till I got home. The book was being signed by Stan Lee as well which was done. And yes they could never find the book so I never got it back.

I picked up my books today and there is one last screwup to remember Paradise by. One of the books was supposed to be signed by Len Wein and it wasn’t. Of course now it’s too late to get that corrected. Thanks Peter. That’s not the first time they have done something like that. I had another book that was supposed to be signed by Herb Trimpe but instead got Neal Adams on. I never did get that book back. It was Hulk Annual 2. God I’m so glad I’m through with that place.

Have we finished talking about CBCS?

Aw man if Voldy goes kaput this board will be flooded with all their loyal members. All 3 of them.
Does that mean Copper Age Kids will come back?

I thought they had ironed out the Newton ring issue with the new case last year. I have had books returned lately and they are all fine.

Peter dodges a bullet with the better business bureau:
Complaint ID: 1372531
Business Name: Paradise Cards & Comics
Thank you for following up with BBB regarding your position in the above-mentioned dispute.
You indicated that you are not satisfied with the company's response however, the business has not made any further concessions to their original reply.
Unfortunately, BBB is not in a position to pursue the issue further and considers the matter UNRESOLVED. -
Man you guys are a bunch of snobs. I mean when you look at it, all comics are manufactured collectables as well. No difference here. As you might guess I bought one and was happy to do so. Can’t wait to see it slabbed.

Picked up one yesterday. I hope to get it encapsulated by CGC.

You know I actually would have considered picking up an Action #1000 signed by Jim Lee or Jurgens from these guys - but not with all the shenanigans going on.
Again it is a shame that Doug left - when Doug was there things ran smoothly (at least in my experience)
Doug left precisely because of those shenanigans.

He doesn't want to rock the boat; he still has cool books to pick up.
I couldn’t have said it better myself.

Payed for SS service (grading + encapsulation). Would have paid for sigs after.
Hopefully you got your money back. I really would have been angry and disappointed if I was you.

Just got back from Paradise. Picked up thirteen books so there is one order left of three books. I did see Peter but I did not want to get into any arguments as I still have books to pick up. So it was strictly in and out with the books. Peter is not going to admit to anything anyway.

Different order. Same time period.
Did you pay upfront for the order in the basement?

Just got my books back. Two days shy of a year waiting (all blue label). Glad that I can finally walk away from this $#!+ storm. Hopefully everyone else will be out soon too.
Thought I would share one more insightful story of the dealings going on at Paradise.
Last year I asked Peter directly, "can you get a signature for me at a con?" He said no problem, we'll get it done. I thought great, I've had Doug get me Neal Adams and Stan Lee before and didn't give it a second thought.
Four months later I start wondering if my books are coming back soon, so I call cgc with my invoice number and they have no record of receiving them.
After a couple weeks of emails, phone calls and thoughts of civil action against Paradise....my books were found... sitting in the basement....unsigned.
They didn't go to the show, they didn't get the signatures, they didn't call me to let me know that they didn't go and the new management (not their fault) didn't even know that my books were there.
So, it wouldn't surprise me if a good chunk of books were sitting in the basement months after they should have been shipped.
I've been going to this shop since high school and it's been a very sad experience dealing with them over the past year.
Best of luck to those still waiting.
The books in the basement are a different order than you just picked up?
Is a year too long for my book to be delivered from Paradise Comics?
