Is the implication that Paradise Comics in their email to CGC said that you filed a complaint with the BBB and that they need an answer/book expedited as a result? Seems rather unprofessional for them to include any outside drama in their correspondence with CGC.
To be fair to Peter not that it’s easy to do is that I don’t think that BBB comment was aimed at CGC. I think he was talking to someone else at the store and they replied to him.

It may not be disaster level but certainly it's bad for their reputation and bad for business.
Between you and me I hope they go out of business. After I get my comics back of course.

Nothing from me.

The books shouldn't be getting shipped now, they should have been shipped 7 months ago though.
I agree.

I don’t think you are going to see them in a week. I doubt they could be graded that quickly and shipped back. That’s why I gave them a month to get my books back.

Email from Peter:
Hi Howard everything is getting processed. I have put a rush on your books and coming back soon. It’s a very long explanation as to what is going on and the disorganization at our store level. Between you and me there has been theft in my store the past few years (not any submissions as they would have been noticed) . We have some new staff now and are in the process of looking for and hiring others. This situation is in the process of totally getting cleared up up and will not be happening again. I will be taking a more active role in overseeing the processing of cgc books.

Think about it - Peter put a rush on? So he unilaterally twisted CGC’s arm till they agreed to quick fix his screw up? Or more likely he paid up to Express your books because he got caught with his hand in the cookie jar again?
This.

I have just heard back from Peter. He has put a rush on all my books and they should be here shortly.

I have just filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau over Paradise. They have an A+ rating!!??

I am hoping that CGC steps in here to try and unravel this and get resolution because it does reflect on them as well. They know that CGC customers are being cheated by Paradise and they should stop accepting books from them.

Using please and ending a letter with yours sincerely after threatening someone and issuing them an ultimatum is quite something.
I’m Canadian eh.

I also asked the person at CGC what is the best way to stage a formal complaint against Paradise and they said this thread is the best as CGC reads everything in it.

Email to Peter:
Peter,
I just spoke to someone at CGC who informed me that they have my books but are awaiting payment from you to grade and release them.I am extremely upset over this turn of events. You have taken my money paid up front to use as you see fit for your own purposes. This is unlawful and as such I will give you one month to get my books back graded and ready or I will take you to court and sue you for restitution and damages. I know who will win here. Please contact me ASAP with a solution to this issue.Yours Sincerely, Howard -
I just talked to Someone at CGC. It was confirmed that the books are at CGC but they are awaiting payment from Paradise to grade and release them. This person also had a call from someone on Friday about Paradise under the same circumstances. This person also said that no books have been shipped to Paradise since January of this year. I will give Peter one month to get my books back to me then I will take him to small claims court for restitution if nothing is forthcoming. Stay tuned.

Both show grade date of 1/9/2018. Signed on 7/9/2017. What tier did you submit them under? And were they pressed? Six months between signing and grading seems excessive.
These books were not pressed and they were fast tracked. So obviously Paradise is holding onto these books months after submitting. Since I am owed so many books Peter will stall as long as possible before sending them in. I am calling CGC in the morning to lodge a formal complaint with this evidence that he is stockpiling books.

I wouldn't go that far, we've never really gotten a clear answer on if CGC is even in possession of the outstanding books in question, or what the actual magnitude of this problem really is. How many Paradise customers are affected? 10? 100? 250? How many books are multiple months late? How much grading fee money has been paid to Paradise but not found its way to CGC?
In any case, the onus is on Paradise to deliver what they promised.
CGC have at least one of my invoices as I have had two of thirteen books back and they were all signature series. The other invoice is three Stan Lee SS books. All are from San Diego last year.
Actually the two books numbers are 1519645002 and 1519645001. Can anyone look those numbers up and see when they were slabbed? If they are recent then CGC don’t have the books and Paradise are sending them in bit by bit.

Which is why you should have gotten the police or a lawyer involved months ago. You understand the idea that a business having taken hundreds or thousands of dollars in money from you for services not yet rendered in addition to possessing your property turning you away at any time is absurd, yes? There is no acceptable "oh you will have to check back with us at another time" instance under these circumstances. You have to personally confront these people and refuse to leave until you are either reimbursed and your property is returned or you are shown proof that the services you paid for are in the process of being provided with visual confirmation. Anything else is a total waste of time, just as it was when this thread was started two months ago.
Getting a lawyer involved is ridiculous because I will end up spending more than the books are worth and Peter knows that. The police will just refer me to a lawyer.

To those who are owed books by Paradise and have called CGC what have they done to help? Did they give you the status of the books?

I am aware of that, but the calendar tells me its the weekend. Phone calls and emails can be ignored. A face to face cannot.
As I mentioned earlier Peter is not always in the store and he is the only one that can do something. Yes I am an hour away from the store so I can’t drop in every few hours to check if he is there.
Is a year too long for my book to be delivered from Paradise Comics?

I wonder if suppliers are being paid on time. If they are willing to cheat customers are suppliers far behind?
