Isn't it possible this could be an issue with renovations and a change in management?  Everything gets boxed up and moved for the renovation and perhaps the books get misplaced or things get confused and they're not sure who owns what.  And there might not have been a orderly transition from the old manager to the new manager and things went sideways.  Money could certainly be the problem but there are other possible explanations.  Either way it's not good.

I don’t buy that the reno is the fault of all the delays in terms of stock going missing or misplaced.  The store never closed during them so nothing was packed or put away from their regular stock.  I stand by that the cost of the reno did factor into the paying or I should say non paying of the books.  In retrospect Doug’s leaving makes perfect sense as I figure he was tired of what was going on with the CGC books.

Conversely, I have an easy time believing that customer money was used for everything other than what it was supposed to be used for.  I go back to @Zevgoli 's issue with his SDCC books.  All signatures were obtained at the con, and yet books are still outstanding 8 months (and counting later)?  That may have been par for the course a few years ago when CGC's grading staff was overwhelmed and everyone's books were taking multiple months to wind through the system, but these days its absolutely absurd.

Almost as absurd as Paradise hauling the completed books back to Canada from San Diego, only to ship them to Florida much later, probably under Express or even Walk Through out of necessity to try and placate complaints, costing them much more out of pocket than if they had just simply dropped the completed books off at CGC's table, under their normal tier, before departing SDCC.  They're even bad at being bad at business.

I’m not sure that Paradise took the books back to Canada.  When I called CGC a few weeks ago to inquire about my two invoices he said that the books are there but awaiting payment from Paradise.  So CGC have had the books all along.

I have a hard time believing that Pete would use the money for anything other than what it was supposed to be used for, that being said, it could just be me being naive. But, I could not get an answer as to why the books were not shipped for over a month after they were supposed to be shipped out. Something must be happening there as I just don't get why their submissions are taking months longer than anywhere else, I just don't know what it is.

I think you are being naive.  Those renovations cost a lot of money.  I saw the before and after.

Zevgoli's original post did mention books signed at SDCC so the timing of the signing lines up somewhat.  (I've had facilitator(s) miss their signing dates and end up holding books for another 3 months for the next convenient signing).  This increasingly looks like a case of someone not paying their bills to CGC resulting in the books being held for an eternity in Sarasota.  If you subbed books with Paradise recently, I'd certainly be concerned of a similar situation playing out.

All of the remaining books I’m owed are signature series and all were completed at the Con.  Nothing from Peter about the books status.  Typical.

Yah I'm sure CGC is paying their staff time and a half to make sure this store gets their books back faster.

Sorry Nancy, I know its quitting time, but this random shop who never pays theirs bills on time then blames us for their mistakes is in a real bind with 10 exceedingly polite Canadian customers.  You're gonna have to stay late so we can process the 700 books in the queue before their books so we can get to theirs faster.  Even though they didn't pay for fastrack we're going to PAY YOU OVERTIME AND JUMP THEIR BOOKS TO THE HEAD OF THE QUEUE ahead of other paying customers who know how to submit payment with their books.

That definitely sounds like a thing that would happen.  in Florida (an unnecessary shot at Florida?  but what does that even mean?  I've only been twice there were hurricanes both times.  But drinks are cheap AF in downtown Orlando bars on weeknights, so that's something.  I feel like we've digressed...).

    Every book was fast tracked.

  6. I have just replied to the BBB complaint I sent in  a week ago against Paradise.  Basically Peter in his rebuttal did not address why it has taken eight months to get back the books just outlining my email correspondence with him and the fact that he and CGC are working overtime to get the books back to me.  He doesn’t blame CGC for the delay a reply I would expect him to make.  He also doesn’t blame himself either.

My reply stressed the obvious as to why it has taken this long to get the books back to me despite the fact I paid upfront.  And I included a couple of email threads I had with Peter that shows the delinquency.  We will see how it goes.

Bear in mind that CGC might ship on 4/12 (assuming Paradise isn't lying for once, which in itself is doubtful), but who knows how many days it takes to ship to Ontario.  I know for me personally to get a book across the country via registered mail takes about a week.  (I still don't understand why a standard shipped book takes 2-3 days, but Registered mail takes an eternity).

I know I must be patient but just thinking that the mailing day is coming up is exciting.
