  1. That was awesome that he stuck to his guns and sold it to you.
  2. not until the movie at least Hasn't IM 55 already dropped? Not such an easy sell these days I believe it dropped two times already. Nothing that quick press can't handle! Haha I was talking the prices though.

  4. I was born premature by 3 months even I fully don't know what's wrong with me but the main problems I have are :thyroid, misaligned spine, weak immune system, and breathing problems and it's not asthma. I tried taking some painkillers that were stronger my stomach felt and fire and I started throwing up and unlike here I follow the directions on the label I'm too scared not too. After Valu-Mart and having nerve damage I can't really lift things over 30 pounds as my arm where my elbow connects get really painful I either have to put it down or drop it. There's a lot of things I need to work on in every aspect of my life this I know. As for my learning disability the psychologists don't know what it is they just wrote down symptoms. I do know some basic skills I want to learn though. Planning Organization Time management Focus I want you to know another thing about my learning disability it makes me forget things, I need things to be repeated, under pressure I freeze and blank out. My thought process is a can think of plans and some get complex and I reach a point where I lose what I was thinking about in the first place.
  5. When you are working in entry level jobs, you shouldn't have a personality. You don't like something, just suck it up. I don't like that mentality I know a job like that isn't fun but I don't want to dread it either. Rodan's right...if you're working an entry-level job and you come across something/someone you don't like, the answer is not to "clash" with the roadblock, rather use it as a motivation to work harder and either get promoted out of your position or earn enough experience to get a better position elsewhere. You're letting pride get in your way. As a result, you're not a victim of society. You're consciously choosing to be unemployed. Attitudes can be tough to change. If you want to succeed, you'll need to change yours. It's not pride it's that I get annoyed with people easily and you're right that I need to change my attitude as it's not getting me anywhere. sigh, you gave us a list of 3 jobs you've been fired from and blamed the boss each time and took zero responsibility in each case. You don't want to work construction or list heavy items and you get annoyed with people easily. And this thread absolutely illustrates that you don't think ahead or follow advice well. I gave you advice on your resume and you didn't thank me. It's not that you can't find jobs, it's that nobody wants to hire you. Sorry I didn't do it on purpose so a belated thank you for help with the resume. I take responsibility for what I do but that wasn't my doing except for one of them, I can't stop someone being a scammer or a individual_without_enough_empathy and I don't see how that falls on me. Also after getting fired a got another job within a week and stayed for 9 months. Gabriel, bottom line, you're having a hard time finding a job. Employers in your region hire people all the time yet you can't get a sniff. Clearly they see problems and frankly anyone reading this thread can see the same problems. Inexperience Repeated mistakes Poor planning Failure to take direction/advice Excuses Unwilling to work hard You need to get real and admit what you're doing right and what you're doing wrong. I don't know what I'm doing right other than determination and being honest. Yes I do have lots of things to work on which believe it or not I'm doing it.
  6. No I'm going to get my resume checked over on Wednesday. What time on Wednesday? 11pm-12noon How would getting your resume checked on Wednesday keep you from a Monday session? It wouldn't that's why I said no as in I won't have a problem with it.
  7. No I'm going to get my resume checked over on Wednesday. Here we go, why not both? I understand you are getting your resume checked on Wednesday, but why not see what information they provide on Monday. Sounds like it is a program that may include some training or at least contact into work programs. Again, your job is to find a job, so why not pursue this avenue of info? I'll check it out thanks and while I'm there I'll ask for training that they may have.
  8. No I'm going to get my resume checked over on Wednesday. So are you going to use any of the information I gave you over PM? Of course I will use it you made me sound professional and not cookie cutter. I'll be going to see her because I'm curious to see what she says about my resume if she says it's fine she's full of bs.
  9. No I'm going to get my resume checked over on Wednesday. What time on Wednesday? 11pm-12noon
  10. With training to be a doctor I knew chemistry and bio were needed but I failed by 15% anyway. I'll check out those other jobs and I was studying video game art not design so I was doing drawing, animation, modeling and so on nothing with programming. I've done a couple seasonal jobs before and they were great as they usually paid cash meaning I saved on taxes. You're right I do have time and freedom on my hands so does that mean even if there's no hiring sign I should go and ask anyway? For the crappy jobs I'm applying for any jobs but construction. I've noticed here it's mostly part-time jobs.

  12. not until the movie at least Even then, I think Thanos' overall popularity will finally blossom enough to sustain the book as a major key, thus helping it retain its value Villains never hold their value well maybe a couple months after the fact then it's a downward trend. Never??? That's a pretty absolute statement. Just off the top of my head, Green Goblin, Doctor Doom and Galactus first appearances have been pretty consistent over the years. Like Galactus, I believe Thanos will further transcend the simplistic "villain" label and become a popular mainstream character, whether he's being naughty or not Just my opinion I was talking about after the movie hype happens doom is one of those villains the lost value after the movie and a bit before it premiered.
  13. You're right I should get into this habit again as I don't want to be on social assistance forever and I'd be able to build my experience.

  15. Yes I did say I feel successful when I dress nicely and as for my grooming habits they could be better. That video was uploaded on the 24th but I got those comics about three weeks before that also I don't know why you bought up how long it took me to unpackage the comics. When I have a interview or drop off resumes other then that I only do it when necessary. So because of my grooming habits and how I dress beforehand effects the outcome of what I do? unless they know of me from Youtube I don't see that happening. When I had a job I kept groomed because I had to in order to keep my job. Employers only hire me when they're desperate nothing else.
  16. Toss the hoodie and track pants in here until you get a job. Dress for success... and right now a job, any job, would be success. I don't mind dressing for success and I like wearing shirts better then hoodies it makes me feel more successful.

  18. One thing I can tell you I do when I went to job fairs is I just handed in my resume to whoever I thought I had the best chance getting hired with and as for freebies I get them offered to me as I don't pick them up. My dressing is usually a hoodie and track pants but if I go somewhere nice it's a shirt, dress pants and shoes.
  19. I'll keep that in mind as Bill Dewees told me the same thing. Some jobs I can't call since it's says I'm not allowed to but most of them I can and thanks. If your application is very good and they have an opening, they'll call. If your application contains a bunch of red flags such as multiple jobs in a short period of time, inflexible availability, involuntary termination, etc. then calling them will do no good since they would probably not view you as being good candidate. Unfortunately, based on what you've said about why you've left your previous job, I don't see you as a good candidate. It cost money to hire and a lot of time to train a team member. If the many issues you've had since signing onto the board is reflection of how your life is then I really hope for the best for you. I think you need to man up and deal with your situation differently than how you've handled it in the past. I think my resume is good however I did move around a lot and didn't keep a job for long. What you see on these boards is exactly what you get offline I don't out on any fronts as I don't need to and you have a point I need to handle my situations better then I have as it gets me no where.
  20. I'll keep that in mind as Bill Dewees told me the same thing. Some jobs I can't call since it's says I'm not allowed to but most of them I can and thanks.
  21. Job update I have two calls backs which they will ask me more questions before deciding on a candidate I'm skeptical because they always say that to be professional but at least this is progress.
  22. Still with my parents paying 600 a month. That is a big part of your problem. You don't need lessons in how to buy and sell comic books, you need some lessons in life. If you were actually on your own, with a job and paying your own way, you would be surprised at how much "annoyance" you could deal with at a job. When you have a choice of saying what you want and probably being fired or sucking it up and moving forward, it's very different when the consequences are possibly being evicted because you can't pay your rent. I have a hard time believing that your parents would toss you out if you failed to pay your $600.00 for a couple of months, and if they would, good for them, that is exactly what you need. You've been offered some excellent advice here, most of which you ignored, unless it just happened to jive with the way you want things to go. If you take instruction at a job like you take good advice offered to you here, it's no wonder you keep getting fired. You need to grow up and accept that things aren't always going to go the way you would like them to. As far as the money you got scammed out of, I hope you get it back, but when you are over 21 years old, living with your parents and getting public assistance, you have no business spending $4.00 on a luxury like a comic book, much less $400.00. You need to sell every one of your comics for what you can get, get a job and get out on your own. What you paid for them makes no difference anymore. They're worth what someone is willing to pay you for them. You seem to have an excuse for everything and some of them are downright laughable! I mean, for crying out loud, you're fine until someone pisses you off? Really? Learn to deal with it, it's called LIFE! You need to start making your own way instead of playing at being a comic book dealer while someone else pays your bills for you. Start paying your own way, like everyone else on these boards and I guarantee that your self esteem and self respect will increase tremendously. A good start would be getting a job, and I don't buy for a second that you can't find a job. I do believe that you can't find the perfect job that happens to appeal to you. I would be willing to bet that if you put as much time and energy into getting a job as you spend on comics, you would have a job in two weeks or less. Is it going to be your dream job? Probably not, but if you want something better, you work your butt off and you earn it. Look at any of the people on these boards whose advice you say you want. Do you think they got where they are by magic? Hell no, they worked their butts off and earned what they have. Why should you be any different? You're right I never lived on my own unless you count being homeless or the time I was at college. I have been kicked out before for a period of a month and to answer the question they would kick me out as they care about money. I can't say if I'd speak my mind or not if I was alone or not but I do bite my tongue if I need the job also I haven't used any of the governments money to buy any comics with I've used my own nothing more. Again I haven't used any of the governments money to buy any comics whatever I've used is what I made. I don't know as I never calculated how much time I spend on here but I have stopped using two sites I frequent and after applying to about 150 jobs and getting no call backs that's not exactly encouraging. I know that a min wage isn't a dream job it's a means to a end and to get by till I find something better. No they didn't get here by magic they did it by hard work that's the thing you can work hard your whole life and have nothing to show for it I don't want that I want to learn how to make money work for me and you ask what makes them different? well they are smarter, have more money, experience, patience and more. I've finished high school at 17, went to college at 18, dropped out at 19 and over the last 4 years I don't know myself what I'm doing. I studied to be a doctor and a video game artist I failed the per-requirements of a doctor by 15% as biology and chemistry are things I'm not good at.I know my end goal I don't know how to get there but I do know I like helping people.
  23. This isn't a sham and I was born in 1992. If you hate a why don't you leave it? I measure a job by many things one of them being stress vs how much I need the job and it's paying. Taxes are something you pay no matter what unless you're evading them and I'm not hurting you in any way except the fact that you don't think I'm doing enough which I agree but I never pretend to do something. I never said the world revolves around me and I'm working on getting a job.
  24. This is an overlooked update. Did you find this guy or did he find you? Actually a admin contacted me and posted it on the groups for me to be aware of this guy apparently he's notorious and scamming thousands of dollars from people.
