  1. Yup saw that go for over 800. Seemed high, Now Im considering putting my CGC 8.5 up on ebay. There have been a few sellers trying to sell their CGC NYCC books for months now. One seller, who has a 8.5 has been trying to get around $800 with no sale Another, who has a 9.4 has been trying to get around $1,200 with no sale. Yet Mirage has sold 2 raw books recently. one for around $750, another around $1,200 ironically. People are taking their chances and placing bets that these books will grade really high I bet. My NYCC #3 is @ CGC right now (5 weeks now as of today). Still waiting for a grade. I'm expecting no less than 9.4 Hoping for 9.6. I paid $250 a year ago for it. I might just throw mine up there for $500 and see if there is any interest. $500? What grade? CGC 8.5
  2. I can see 80k offer on this book for someone who has unlimited funds to obtain the best graded copy of Wolverine out there. Whether the book actually is a 9.9 currently is another question.

  5. More surprisingly his #4 NYCC variant went for $810 !!!!!!!!!!! I think its time I put my #4 variants on the market.
  6. Someone really got a good price on that 9.2. I have a raw fine copy and a graded 8.5. I would have paid way more than the final price for that 9.2
  7. anybody know how much the original sketchbooks are going for ungraded (I dont even know if these get graded)
  8. very nice...now I just need a 9.8 number 2 to have that same set you do.
  9. Better to own that copy and read the story from the original comic then a reprint which you would probably pay $6 for these days anyway.
  10. by the way...I noticed that a 9.8 DD number 8 was recently graded. This is one of my two grails.
  11. Theres been no love for the man without fear.....bump.
  12. Thanks icculus, Sweet looking copy you have by the way!!!!!. Actually I wonder how many of the original 3000 still exist. I am sure a portion of the original 3000 were lost, thrown away, or destroyed the first couple of years they came out.
  13. The production run was 3000 for the first print. Given the current list (and only counting 1 for rabidwolf), you think there are 277 more copies held by board members that haven't posted them? Not attacking you...just want to see if I'm understanding you correctly. I havent been on the boards for a couple of months. This is cool that this list is being made. Let me give some additional info on the copies I have to help update the list. I have 6 copies BUT my friend and I have 50/50 interests in each of the 6 books(he is not a board member). I know its weird but we had made an agreement that everytime we found one we would notify the other person and buy them together. I think we picked up the first one in 1999 and the most recent one in 2004. All were ungraded when bought and we had them slabbed. all are graded. I actually havent seen them in a few years because they have been sitting in a bank vault so I forgot whether the lowest graded one is a 6.0 or 6.5 but here is the list.(all blue label) 1 copy at 9.4 2 copies at 8.5 1 copy at 8.0 1 copy at 7.5 1 copy at 6.0 or 6.5 cant remember,
  14. Ended at $949...solid price WOW thats pretty high. Thats about the same or just slightly more that a 7.0 TMNT 1. But if there are only 5 of these out there that kind of money is well worth it to a TMNT fan.
  15. I have 2 of the #3 NYCC variants. One CGC 8.5 and one unslabbed in the 6.0 range.
  16. This is one non-silver book I love. I have a few copies of number 1 that Ive picked up over the last 10 years I keep in my bank vault with no intention to sell and have no problem adding additional copies. But I personally think the biggest impact on the declining sales and the leveling prices over the last copule of years is due to the number of higher grade copies that have been graded over the last few years. There are lost of 9.0s-9.4s now, not to mention the several 9.6s which is no longer even the highest grade. However I personally think in the long run this is the book to own investment wise. There were only 3000 printed. Im sure a good chunk have been lost or destroyed. That being said I dont think too many additional 9.2-9.8 copies will show up from here on.IMHO this is truly the rarest KEY to come out in the last 30 years.
  17. Thanks Bubba. It was an absolute pleasure doing business with you.
  18. http://cgi.ebay.com/1984-GOBBLEDYGOOK-1-2-TMNT-Ninja-Turtles-GENUINE_W0QQitemZ170366775687QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item27aaa6b187&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 Gobbledygook 1 and 2 - is this a board member? Books look authentic.
  19. I was looking at your photos. Looks like you have a real set of these?!?! Are those yours? If so where did you manage to pick those up and how did you mange to get Kevin Eastman to sign eh ? Here is the story AT had posted ... http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=3215551&fpart=1
  20. I picked up the 9.8/9.6 for $370 on Comiclink earlier this year. The 9.8/9.8 is clearly more appealing but 1100 is a very good price to get on that book.
  21. Has this series cooled off or are we just looking at a lull in its popularity?
  22. I remember this is what happened with TMNT 1s a year or two ago. An onslaught of high grade copies got slabbed after there were only a few the first few years. This affected the value of the copies I owned (but I anticipated and was waiting for a bunch of high grades would be slabbed over the years) but these are long term investments for me as I anticipate is the cae with Bone 1 collectors, The prices were obvioulsy affected but slowly stabilized and will sreadily come up again. The prices on the Bone 1s will be affected in the short term but will slowly rise over the years. This allows for a more realistic marketplace. As to a 9.4 number 1, IMHO $1000 is still a steal. I think they will still sell for 1100-1400.
