  1. Does anyone know why the 9.8 TMNT #1 sale is not listed on GPA?
  2. Man there was a nice TMNT 4 and 6 CGC 9.8 that went really low on the last Comiclink auction. I hope boardies picked these up.
  3. You should be able to get a 7.0 for that price. If youre patient and wait for the right deal you could probably even get a 7.5 for around 1k.
  4. Dear Gator, if I hold off on buying a low grade Captain america comics 1 until next year will I regret it?
  5. the faces on the Turtles look very weird on the color covers.
  6. That was my first reaction when I saw the pictures. Although the Eastman variant looks good.
  7. any ideas on the actual value of that book. Its interesting that it is listed at a higher price than the Gobbledygook 1 which is at 6k buy it now.
  8. Man i got swamped at work and totally forgot the auctions were ending today. I would have been all over the number 2. 2-4 went dirt cheap. As for the number 1, totally out of my price range but dang what a great buy at that price for the person who picked it up.
  9. I am still waiting for a TMNT number 2-10 to be graded in 9.9. Im actually surprised there are so many 9.8s but absolutely no 9.9s
  10. Im setting the over/under on that book at 25k. Lets see how off I am.
  11. 9.8 TMNT 1 auction...............will be very interesting to see how this plays out.
  12. Even 9.6 copies are pretty affordable if you wait for the right deals.
  13. I like it. They kept the look true to the original comics.
  14. Dear Gator, I bought 1930 "Mickey Mouse Book" comic a year or two ago. Its kind of fun to own but isnt the usual superhero stuff i collect. So now Im thinking of selling it. Does it have any long term imvestment potential that I should take into account before I decide to sell it?
  15. I have been looking for 9.8 graded copies of TMNT 6 and 9. I never see them surface whereas I see copies of 5,7,8,10 all the time. Does anyone know why 6 and 9 are so tough to find in that grade?
  16. Anyone know of an online source for sales prices of AFA graded toys(specifically transformers) similar to GPA analysis or a toy price guide?
  17. The number 1s in higher grade have taken a little bit of a drop in price. But I think this is temporary. Nickolodean bought the rights to TMNT for a huge sum of money about a year or so ago. They havent done anything with the brand yet, but once they start making shows and movies, the books are going to see another surge.
  18. I know that if you provide something significant about an issue to CGC they tend to denote it. Maybe "first non-Mirage advertisement"
  19. I love seeng old advertisements like that. Who would have thought at the time the impact this book would make especailly since it was a "coincidental parody".
  20. Transformers were the best toys. Still have my optimus that I got in 1985, but no longer in the condition in your picture. Nice acquisition. Getting old toys back are great. I know this is a comic forum but anybody have any interest in getting a section for toys on the forum?
  21. Very nice books. I know those are not the grades you wanted, but still good job (thumbs u Thanks! Yea, grades could always be better, but I am really happy about the two 9.6's as my whole collection besides 1st print and NYCC are ALL 9.6s. Question for the professionals....... 1 of the 3 graders claimed 8.0 . Is it worth the risk of resubmitting to try and achieve a 8.0? I truly feel I was robbed on this one. Anyone else that has seen this book thought it too was nothing short of 8.0/5. I dont know if there is a huge value difference between a 7.5 and 8.0. Keep in mind postage and regrading fees that'll probably add up to $100. If this had a shot at 8.5 it definitaly would be worth the gamble. Congrats on the 2nd and 3rd prints though. Any print of the #1 that receives a 9.6 is awesome.
  22. This is not a great picture, but the best I have. You can see the first T is a little dirty. The second T looks about the same, but the white is just the slightest bit a different shade of white. I overnighted the book to Matt Nelson to see what his throughts are. I dont think a little bit of dirt will affect the grade. The hairline scratches may, but I dont know. Im sure Matt will give you a really good idea of the actual grade.
