  1. I think we've all made our arguments - some of us, like myself, multiple times - and now I think it's time to stop piling on.

I don't want Tim to read this thread and feel like we're coming after him with torches and pitchforks. I respect him, and I know that the success of this book is far more important to him than it is to any of us - he has to make what he feels is the best decision for the book.

As readers and collectors it is now our job to simply support the book... or not. I'm working on trying to figure out my own mind on this as I typically do not support the 'series of mini-series' approach, however, I really respect the open approach Tim has had with us, the fans, and I find myself wanting to support him as much as I want to support the book.

Anyway... lets move beyond this piling on, if he's made a decision, he's made a decision - lets not make this a corrosive environment for him.

  2.

this seller is a notorious sheller with 5 accounts (last i checked). Ive reported him to ebay multiple times. just fyi guys. be careful

I wonder who that is. I tried to bid on something, and I'm blocked.

    Obviously a problem seller.

I bought one of their listings recently that was "9.8". Received the book and it was a 9.0/9.2 at best. The pictures hid the flaws perfectly. Initiated the return and seller offered me a partial refund instead. I refused and the book is now on its way back. Will never bid on another one of their auctions again.

  3. Ugh.

I think it's a neat idea if you're already on board but as a new reader I don't know if it will have the desired effect. I wish you all the best Tim. Thank you for keeping us informed here on the boards. I know there's some decisions that have to be made that many people wont agree with but if you're behind it then I am as well. I look forward to future issues. :):foryou:

  4. It's clear as the fans of the series that NO ONE is on board with this new numbering. 215 ink, Movie Execs, Creators, and everyone else please take note.

I missed the earlier discussion, and while I personally prefer continuous numbering, it might make sense in this case to start over with a new #1, but I'd make it #1 of a new ongoing series. The print numbers are so low of the first 6 issues that I can see potential readers picking up the trade but then buying monthly if they can jump on with a #1 issue, whereas if they continue with the existing numbering people may trade-wait if they're the types not to collect a run unless they can get the whole run

I can understand trying to get a fresh group aboard for a #1 but making it a 1-6 just leaves question marks. What will happen at the end of issue 6? Another reboot? Just have multiple chapters of 1-6? Just seems to make things confusing in the long run. There's been a lot of comparisons with this book and Walking Dead. One of the main reasons I've enjoyed Walking Dead is because it is a continuous story. IMO if you want more people to jump on board with #1 just have a second or third printing and the TPB. But, If it is going to be a reboot to get more people on board for a #1 then make it a continuous run.

  5. Print Run for #6:

    #350 Enormous 6 $3.99 215 Ink 3,774

These always seem to be a little low, so probably mid 4s.

Unfortunately, going down in numbers...#4 was 4,636 (Couldn't find #5)

BUT, hopefully that changes with the media news and the upcoming trade.

I think 7K guesstimate is pushing it for #7; lets hope it get back up to 5K range.

Plenty of #5s and #6s still at Midtown if you want to order.

That is absolutely ridiculous imo. People are missing something special with this one. I'm glad I got mine. I can wait to get the TPB, then I'll share with others. lol

I got a feeling once the TPB comes out you'll see those numbers start creeping up. I pre ordered three of them just so I can share.

  6. yeah... im not much of a grader... but i guarantee my 2 phantoms are 9.8... i cant find anything wrong with them, even with a magnifying glass... and i only ordered 2... so if they all came like that from mile high i think there will be a ton... i also have 2 1A that are 9.6 maybe 9.8... i dont know if i should submit them now... or wait...

There will be a lot of 9.8s with a few 9.9s on all the covers. The paper stock is high quality. It's up to you when to get them graded. Nobody can really tell you that. I'm going to get most of mine graded this summer.

  7. It looks like 1a is staying strong. A copy is over $60 with days to go on eBay.

It's just a matter of time before it past the phantom copy in value. All I have

    is two copies dam.

IMO it will never eclipse the Phantom #1 just because of print run numbers. I might be wrong but with a print run under 600 the Phantom will be almost impossible to find as more fans come along .

  8. May have to update the list and change mine from a slabbed 9.8 to a raw copy. Listed mine for sale this morning. If it sells I'll let you guys know so you can update.

Set the price silly high, not in a hurry to sell, but I am curious to see what kind of offers I get.

or you could sell the raw copy... hm

I may sell one of them as well ;)

You could always sell one to me since I'm in Cape this week :baiting::grin:

  9. The thing is if Enormous does eventually branch out past comics and the masses catch wind of it these books will be almost impossible to get your hands on. A NYCC might come up for sale a few times a year and imo $600 isn't even scratching the surface of what the potential is on that book. I could see 2-3 years down the line quite a few kicking themselves for not buying one when they had the chance. Even if it doesn't get mega popular I love the book and am ecstatic I get to watch it grow from the beginning.
