  1. I think it would be really interesting to mark a book with some form of watermark, or fluorescent activated marking, then submit it to CGC and see if the graders ever notice the marking at all. You could even send it in twice and the second time around, tell them where the marking is and see what they say. It's not like someone wants to scrawl in Crayon. In fact, it could become a service generated by the graders themselves although I think an independent party would be far better. Change is inevitably a scary thing but embracing security in what seems to me to be a fraud riddled endeavor would give all of you security. Would anyone here want' a tracking locator placed on themselves permanently? This entire conversation is too Orwellian for me.
  2. I'm going to move the book to other venues but if you have any interest feel free to message me.
  3. I've had a few discussions with people on price. It's hard to find an accurate price as the book is moving upwards fast and there are few copies that come to market. $5000 seems to be the baseline price for a CGC 9.0 (and there was a $4000 sale for a CGC 7.0 although that is probably an anomaly). I've reduced the price to $7500.
  4. It's been discussed here for years. Nobody wants their collectibles marked with foreign markings.
  5. Dude, if you don't want to buy anything you're free to just move along to another thread. Sometimes scans get posted late. Sometimes they're sent privately to interested parties. Sometimes the book sells outright and quickly before scans are posted. Sorry if it causes problems for you. For anyone interested, scans are now posted.
  6. Sorry. #5 - typo and I forgot to shift the 3
  7. There's only a small handful in 9.4 so who knows what a copy would sell for. I just got a copy in that should grade in the NM range so I'd be curious to know.
  8. This sale is not too different from the Marvel Spotlight 35 CGC 9.8 that sold for $50K a few years ago. $50K seems to be the new benchmark for 9.8 BA keys.
  9. Albedo #2 CGC 9.2 White - 1st appearance of Usagi Yojimbo - If you're looking for a copy you know that they are as rare as hen's teeth and there are none on the market above VF range. This is only the 3rd copy I've ever owned in all my years of selling. It's a good looking copy with the only defects being 3 minor spine stresses and a back cover scratch, vertical next to the top staple about a 1/2 from the spine. Asking $7500
  10. Shipping: Certified books, shipping is included FREE within North America, ROW we split it. Raw books, include $10 for shipping within North America. ROW I will split with interested parties. Who wins: Time stamp seals the deal as to who wins regardless of the form of communication (including PM, in the thread, text or phone conversation). A negotiation is not a deal until both sides have agreed on terms. If there is an unconditional posted (or communicated) it will trump all negotiations unless we have already both agreed to terms before the was posted. In that case, the will have been in vain. Except that it will give you street cred and look cool to passers by. No House Of Shame or Probationary members or any others of ill repute. Returns: I am considered a very good grader among my peers ( Here is a link to my kudos thread ) but since even CGC is inconsistent I will not guarantee a CGC grade. I will guarantee to be within one grade increment in either direction - so if I am calling the book a 9.4 it could go 9.2 or 9.6. If it falls outside of those parameters (and it does happen that they go in both directions), I will offer a refund. But I don't expect anyone to complain if I undergraded it. I will accept returns if item is otherwise not as described. Consider all books pressed. Payment: Bank wire, check or MO.
  11. Absolutely not the same people. They don't even live in the same country. Hey gang. My name is Roy and I'm VintageComics Sparklecitycomics is Brian. We're 2 totally different people. I can see how the confusion can happen. Anyway, just wanted to clear that up.
  12. Book is still with the person I sold it to as far as I know and I have first shot if he decides to sell.
  13. It's the same book that sold a year prior for $450K Odd that there wasn't fanfare and whistles blown when it sold for $250,000 more just a year later.
  14. Walkthru is the name of the tier to submit the book under. It does not mean you literally have to walk the book through their premesis. It means they walk it through the process quicker than other books of lesser value.
  15. Thanks, Gil! Gang, I'm going to close the thread but you can PM me with interest in any other books as they will be moved to other venues.
