  1. Avengers #4 raw copy - looks VG/F to Fine - (5.0 to 5.5) but has coupon cut out of last interior page (2.5" x 2.5") - the clipped coupon does NOT affect the story as the last page that the coupon is clipped out of is an ad page (both sides). Great looking copy for the price. Pages are supple and OWW Asking $800
  2. Yes. I was supposed to have pictures and the holiday rush messed that up. Scans are now posted and books are available.
  3. Did you write to ask what he meant by it before calling him out publicly?
  4. Shipping: Certified books, shipping is included FREE within North America, ROW we split it. Raw books, include $10 for shipping within North America. ROW I will split with interested parties. Who wins: Time stamp seals the deal as to who wins regardless of the form of communication (including PM, in the thread, text or phone conversation). A negotiation is not a deal until both sides have agreed on terms. If there is an unconditional posted (or communicated) it will trump all negotiations unless we have already both agreed to terms before the was posted. In that case, the will have been in vain. Except that it will give you street cred and look cool to passers by. No House Of Shame or Probationary members or any others of ill repute. Returns: I am considered a very good grader among my peers ( Here is a link to my kudos thread ) but since even CGC is inconsistent I will not guarantee a CGC grade. I will guarantee to be within one grade increment in either direction - so if I am calling the book a 9.4 it could go 9.2 or 9.6. If it falls outside of those parameters (and it does happen that they go in both directions), I will offer a refund. But I don't expect anyone to complain if I undergraded it. I will accept returns if item is otherwise not as described. Consider all books pressed. Payment: Bank wire, check or MO.
  5. I love that book. My eye is always caught by a high grade JIM #84
  6. It is comparable to Mound City (an auction I went to and bought from extensively). It's comparable in the sense of size and depth but this collection seems to be much more all over the place. For example, there were more large keys in this collection but less full runs of the superhero stuff. And this collection was scattered in interest. It was considered by CGC for Pedigree status but in the end they declined. It was a lot of fun handling the books, some of which are single highest graded. For example, seeing a brand new looking copy of Brave and the Bold #10 that graded a 9.4 was petty surreal.
  7. Yup. The owner of the collection got in touch with me to help him market the books. It's an original owner collection that he literally bought from two little old ladies. There is a stolen ASM #1 from the collection (it was stolen before the new owners got to it) that is still floating out there somewhere. Pretty amazing collection of books. The books were fresh looking and for the most part had amazing paper quality. The less expensive books are still being certified.
  8. Gang, I know this is unorthadox but being a dad I can sympathize with the family and am posting for their benefit. Darren, the shop owner of Comic Depot in Saratoga Springs, NY died just over 2 years ago leaving behind two children. The shop closed down permanently last week and the shop was all that Darren left behind for his kids. A pic of Darren with his two kids: Seeing as how we have had fundraisers for those in the community in the past I thought that it was worth bumping this thread and posting this here. From Facebook: In case you can't log into FB: Link to donate to Darren's fundraiser: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?token=Ej0jq74pNVXHovRl131nMpULP4OjFWr4Ec_xKlAI3KWq8iOU2ntqeaabyAQZwUR67EK7K0&country.x=US&locale.x=US
