  1. Sometimes books can sit in older holders undergraded. It happens. I originally advised the owner at the time when it was a 9.4 that it looked like a 9.6 and that he should resubmit it. It's a pretty nice looking book.
  2. Previously, you could accept checks and MO but were not allowed to ask for them. Not sure now.
  3. I can't believe they're actually coming up with this. It is absolutely shocking. It's robbery or extortion, depending on how you look at it. And this will be a huge nail in their coffin. They must be banking on weathering the storm and later generations simply accepting it as 'normal' and not contesting it.
  4. Ah, I see. I didn't think of the possibility that it wasn't his book. Fair point. I guess we'll see if it comes back to market anytime soon.
  5. Why does everyone just assume the book will upgrade? Does anyone really think Doug would leave a $200K book in a $100K holder?
  6. I have a few interested parties in the Hulk #181 so I'm going to say that I do have a little room on price and this is probably the nicest Hulk #181 you'll ever have the opportunity to own. Feel free to message me with any other questions. I'm going to close the thread so that I can post the book elsewhere.
  7. If it was so easy a 5 year old could do it there wouldn't be so many poorly pressed books out there. If they are saying it's so easy, they probably are not doing the best work themselves and have little idea of what a properl pressed book is.
  8. What is it with Canadians catching thieves at Chicago shows? I did the same with a dude a few years ago.
  9. There are signs on the convention center that no guns are allowed in. Right next to the no smoking sign, of course.
  10. I thought the thieves were sneakily grabbing comics, not robbing dealers at gunpoint. Or maybe you meant they would catch them when they left because of the staples? Seriously, WTF? Every single person entering the show (dealers and exhibitors) had to be screened through security including bag searches and metal detectors.
  11. Incredible Hulk #181 CGC 9.8 White pages. The perfect copy. Perfectly centered, perfect white pages, perfect color strike. Short of paying $150,000+ for a CGC 9.9 you will not find a better copy. This copy has zero spine stress. If you want the very best copy of the best Bronze Age key, this is the copy. You will not find a better one. Asking $40,000 (shipping included)
  12. Gang, I'm going to move the Cerebus #1 CGC 9.2 to another venue. If someone is interested in the book you know how to reach me. I'm going to use this thread to post another recently acquired book for sale rather than start a second thread.
  13. Cerebus #1 CGC 9.2 White pages - Signature Series - Dave Sim File Copy Asking $14,500 (shipping included) Book moved to another venue - message me with interest
  14. Shipping: Certified books, shipping is included FREE within North America, ROW we split it. Raw books, include $10 for shipping within North America. ROW I will split with interested parties. Who wins: Time stamp seals the deal as to who wins regardless of the form of communication (including PM, in the thread, text or phone conversation). A negotiation is not a deal until both sides have agreed on terms. If there is an unconditional posted (or communicated) it will trump all negotiations unless we have already both agreed to terms before the was posted. In that case, the will have been in vain. Except that it will give you street cred and look cool to passers by. No House Of Shame or Probationary members or any others of ill repute. Returns: Raw books: I am considered a very good grader among my peers ( Here is a link to my kudos thread ) but since even CGC is inconsistent I will not guarantee a CGC grade. I will guarantee to be within one grade increment in either direction - so if I am calling the book a 9.4 it could go 9.2 or 9.6. If it falls outside of those parameters (and it does happen that they go in both directions), I will offer a refund. But I don't expect anyone to complain if I undergraded it. I will accept returns if item is otherwise not as described. Consider all books pressed. Payment: Paypal, Bank Wire, Check or MO.
  15. Gang, this is what is left. I'm going to close the thread and post the books in other venues but if you have any interest, feel free to message me. Thanks for looking.
