  1. I know my price is in the ballpark because I have several interested parties, so let's sweeten the pot a little bit....price lowered to $46,000
  2. Grader's notes are not exhaustive and they are not really meant for the general public.
  3. pervert You know what's funny? I received a question via PM asking if the book was on hold and I didn't realize that this first post made it look like the book was unavailable. That first post was meant to be a place holder...not that the book was on hold. I'm a dork.
  4. A terrific looking mid grade copy with exceptionally nice OWW paper, eye appeal and centering (very difficult to find this book with a well centered cover where the 12 cent price and Comics Code stamp are both centered on either side). A few comparable sales for those stepping into the Amazing Fantasy #15 market. CGC 4.5 sale at $38,950 on GPA The last GPA sale for a 5.0 is recorded as $35K but the last two copies on GPA for 5.0 were badly chipped copy and badly chipped copies sell for about 25% less than premium copies. I sold my last CGC 5.0 for $44K (early summer 2018, only OW pages and not as well centered) A CGC 5.5 copy for $55K around the same time period (early summer 2018). As far as comparable copies go, they generally don't have the eye appeal of this copy (no Marvel chipping, very well centered (tough to find), excellent page quality) while having higher asking prices. For some reason my scanner made the book look washed out and dull. Please see 2nd picture(before it was reholdered) which shows depth of cover ink colors. Book as absolutely gorgeous and bright in hand and has been reholdered into a new CGC holder. Asking $47,500 $46,000
  5. Shipping: Certified books, shipping is included FREE within North America, ROW we split it. Raw books, include $10 for shipping within North America. ROW I will split with interested parties. Who wins: Time stamp seals the deal as to who wins regardless of the form of communication (including PM, in the thread, text or phone conversation). A negotiation is not a deal until both sides have agreed on terms. If there is an unconditional posted (or communicated) it will trump all negotiations unless we have already both agreed to terms before the was posted. In that case, the will have been in vain. Except that it will give you street cred and look cool to passers by. No House Of Shame or Probationary members or any others of ill repute. Returns: I am considered a very good grader among my peers ( Here is a link to my kudos thread ) but since even CGC is inconsistent I will not guarantee a CGC grade. I will guarantee to be within one grade increment in either direction - so if I am calling the book a 9.4 it could go 9.2 or 9.6. If it falls outside of those parameters (and it does happen that they go in both directions), I will offer a refund. But I don't expect anyone to complain if I undergraded it. I will accept returns if item is otherwise not as described. Consider all books pressed. Payment: Bank wire, check or MO.
  6. I think that because the swapped out book misrepresents CGC's company fraudulently they have legal recourse that way. I don't know the legalities of chain of ownership but I do know that CGC aggressively pursues this sort of fraudulent misrepresentation as I've been a part of such things before.
  7. That is an incredibly nice looking Hulk #1. Can you share any details about it?
  8. Bob, there's a big difference between a grading opinion or missing a defect and someone actually swapping out a book and misrepresenting it. The two are not comparable and CGC has no liability for either missing a defect or grading it differently on another day.
  9. Actually, I agree with Rick on this. You can give a compliment without quoting the book. He's right, it can give the appearance that the book is sold. If I am flipping through a lengthy sales thread, without regard for details, I would have assumed a Sold book. For me it's a matter of visual clutter. Quoted endless streams of pictures just clutters the page whether you're buying the book or not. I generally quote the description whether I'm buying or just complimenting. And don't get me started when someone quotes 15 pictures at once.
  10. Other book have Pink pages too. Not uncommon for Fox published books. They used whatever color paper they had on hand to print comics so the Blue or Pink designation is the same as a White designation for a White paged book.
  11. Amazing Spider-man #28 CGC 6.5 OWW - attractive copy for the grade. This is the copy that sold on eBay in September (listed on GPA by serial number) and was purchased by my customer, who has now purchased an upgrade. I have seen the book in hand and I genuinely believe the book has a shot at upgrade to 7.0 as there is a long, non color breaking crease along the top of the back cover that goes almost the width of the book. I don't have the book in hand. Why am I not upgrading it? Because it's not really worth my while but might be for a customer who wants a 7.0 (or weak shot at 7.5) in their collection. These are the only pics I have at the moment. If you want better scans it'll be on the weekend. Asking $400 (shipping included)

  13. We don't know when the theft was. The book was switched out at some indeterminate time and it could have been two weeks ago, two years ago or a decade ago.
  14. Nobody knows the time frame. It could have been at ANY time as the books were imaged a long time ago by the owners.
  15. There is the theory that it's someone close to the family who had regular access to the books...at this point I don't expect much unless someone spots the book out in the open market.
  16. It might be worth keeping an eye out in Portland and Eugene as well as the collection came from north of Sacramento. @Senormac Who else is out that way...trying to remember.
  17. you can open your PM to see if it has been read but it wont be. We are not worthy of stuff like that. Do you guys know about this part of the forum? https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/forum/92-moderation-review-request/
  18. There was an old GA thread called 'Slap a Jap' which was a WW2 phrase used on comics and that thread was deleted.
  19. It's a sonic machine. Like a workplace safety measure to reduce exposure.
  20. This sounds like a very well written, professional letter and you are misrepresenting it by saying they told you to "go pound sand" and got "kicked in the teeth". You made it sound like they replied in some unprofessional manner, which they didn't based on what you quoted. They told you they are doing what they can, they offered you a refund if you woudln't accept their offer to do what they can and then left the ball in your court. It doesn't get more professional than that. What probably do you have with it? That they didn't bump you ahead of others? As I said in your thread in the Watercooler, CGC grading was CHRONICALLY behind schedule for the majority of their time in business and there were many threads devoted to it and the one I linked for you showed that CGC had a 100 day (20 week if you do the math) turnaround time. No different than what you experienced over there.
  21. ...and the distinct stress mark by the A in AMAZING. Same thing, dork.
