Somehow I get the feeling you'd enjoy anything DD even if it was Doo Doo. This coming from me, who enjoyed the Affleck version.

It's funny, you've said this several times. I was more skeptical about the casting choice for Foggy than anyone else before watching the show. After watching it, I really loved the casting choice and like his comedic shtick. That's how Foggy IS in the books. I still think he needs a serious haircut, but I enjoyed the actor's performance. Yeah, he annoys the carp out of me, but it's not his character, it's his acting.

Age really is irrelevant for most actors. Makeup, CGI, etc does wonders. Ian McKellan has been doing LOTR films forever and he was old when he started.

Most Church copies have some sort of penciled code on the cover the same way you might see an arrival date or stamp. most up to a certain date do; at some point in '44 i think the classic coding goes away. west would have better specifics on this. Oh, flash a copy you old stick in the mud!

I had serious doubts about his character when they first introduced him but he played the part so effectively that I bought into it very quickly and he became a favorite. In fact I've bought into his character faster and deeper than I have been able to with Foggy and Fisk. I'm still having trouble with those two, and I'm at episode 9 (or is it 10?)

That would be dumb if they resurrected him. I just really liked the actor. He anchored the Foggy/Karen/Urich search for answers scenes he was in. I don't think he was too old at all to play a beat reporter in the mcu. As one of the best actors in the ensemble, he'll be missed. He looked to me like he was going to be a mainstay in the show. Now speaking of actors, is there anyone else that finds Foggy annoying? I really have a hard time swallowing his overacting. Another very small beef I had with the last episode I watched is when Fisk said "Let 'im burn." It seemed out of character because he's so careful to choose and enunciate his words (he acts so staunch) that when he slips up like this I'm not sure I'm buying it. I picture the Kingpin in this series as some lower class kid who grew up into upper class and learned how to act upper class including how to talk upper class. Am I wrong?

I guess it's all going to depend on how valuable he is in the future. I'm certainly VERY surprised they did what they did but I have faith in them. We'll see.

I didn't get that at all. But tone is tricky to figure out sometimes. We're used to PC talk nowadays a little too much. He just didn't coddle the reply but he was very honest about it. It's a fair reply.

Damn! +1 He feels if he signs for one he has to sign for everyone. The man is true to his values. If he showed up at a comic con to sign or announced he was at mall to sign and the cost was $100 per signature, the line would be a mile long and there would be people in line with boxes full of books to get signed. Anyone that would turn down that much easy money you have to respect. People are used to looking at the world through money because that is the way Western culture seems to value everything. People who follow their convictions don't chase the money. They generally believe that their convictions are what is important and money will follow if it needs to. I respect Ditko for his choices but I also believe that not everything is black and white the way he seems to see the world.

This is a question for the GA forum because a lot of those guys don't venture into the CG forum. I believe there have been duplicates in the collection but not many.

And I understand your point as well. I've believed in 'never say never' since my teenage years...but I made that statement with the point being that as far as trends are concerned one will 'never' pass the other...meaning you could have a 'one off' where one book sells for a higher price than the other but it's an outlier. Like when a book that will press up a grade or two breaks a record. The only reason the book is breaking the record is because it's in the wrong grade to begin with. Yes, I realize DC could buy Marvel and drive Spidey into the ground in order to make the Flash their flagship character and then SC #4 will overtake AF #15 and I would eat my 'never', but this is a very unlikely scenario.

You just don't see automotive style like that anymore because back then aerodynamic technology was still in it's infancy so automakers could still style their cars without worrying about fuel mileage too much. Fast forward 20-30 years and everything starts to look generic because the perfect aerodynamic shape is what takes precedent. New cars look cool but often it's hard to tell them apart. I would argue the same for fashion. Up to the early 1990's you could still be daring and different - and the 80's were a crazy time for fashion with outrageous outfits (men looking like women, women looking like men, etc). Today everything is much more homogenized. And everyone has a beard.

I'm half way through episode #9 and the show just gets better. I think that my watching it on a computer screen and cutting for breaks is probably detracting from the show for me a bit. Having said that, I'm coming to realize that what makes this show work so well is that it is very much a Jekyll / Hyde concept with the origin of the Kingpin being just as important, if not more important than DD's origin. DD was done in one episode. The Kingpin is taking up the entire seasons. It's building very nicely.
