  1. I was waiting for you to dive on that one. If this: Is really true it means even Fox doesn't love the new film. A decent version? $100's of Millions spent on something decent?
  2. If Randy / Quadman needs any help I am about 45 minutes from him. (thumbs u
  3. You've been there. Did you get any sales? I bought some nice books and sold some nice books. I try to watch and see who the serious and regular sellers are. The raw comics groups I've seen are iffier. I find Facebook much like this place, very few people are really serious. I've done a few deals there but nothing spectacular.
  4. I also agree but it is the word "copy" that causes the problem. One could say it is "in the third highest grade" and be completely accurate. In my opinion, 3rd highest graded has always meant in the 3rd highest grade tier. It may be one of whatever number in that grade tier but it is tied with all of them. Semantics I realize but that is the way grade chasers will understand it. I was one of them.
  5. Noticed that. Good for them. Dan I tried selling there once and had a negative experience. I listed a book there. Guy kept promising to pay and never paid. In the meantime someone expressed interest over here in the book by going through a closed sales thread. I had to tell him the book was spoken for. The guy strung me along for a few weeks until I got tired of chasing after him. I left feedback through the mods and that was that. However... I did come out of it with a "no chasing policy." If you claim something from me and don't pay, I set it aside and that is that. If the time limit passes and you still not have have paid I send you an email that the book is no longer yours as you have not paid. My life is not about being a "bill collector" or "strong arming" anyone into giving me money. If they want it then they will pay for it. This place is starting to look and act like a Facebook group.
  6. he never posted the books. I did call someone palooka But I thought just this morning I was looking at books in that thread?! No...?? ...And I don't start drinking until 5pm. Strict rule. Really. There was a pic in the thread of a book for sale. No idea why it was pulled.
  7. These noobs make me roll my eyes so hard to the point where I can see my arse. They come in and can't spell (your / you're, u / you), they talk about how they need certain books badly, they wave their money around like everyone needs it and they change their mind like the wind. That's if they even respond at all. I have two guys in the last week who needed books but have not responded to PM. I thought we needed some sort of a mild screening process in the past and I'm certainly more in favor of one now than ever. Anything that helps keep the riff raff out.

  9. Terrific buyer. Thank you for the purchase!
  10. Seriously? Have you ever just posted a Good minus copy of a rag and let us mortals gloat about something? Damn Texans.
  11. They are originals with a variant price on them. No different than a $0.30 / $0.35 price variant or a $0.10 / $0.15 price variant (and these do exist).
  12. Funny you mention that but when I'm on my Samsung tablet it's reasonably fast as well.

  15. They are absolutely not reprints. They are also absolutely just as cool as US versions and I agree, are no different than a 1939 $0.15 GA Canadian book that otherwise sold for $0.10 in the US or the $0.30/$0.35 price variants of the BA. And I'm betting that one of the reasons the US market hasn't accepted them as equals is because most people don't realize the above.
  16. I agree. I've personally always been more a fan of the early pulp like Schomburg covers than the later cartoon type covers, and that mainly because it reminds me more of the dawn of those big, oversize GA comics and a publisher that hadn't yet found it's niche.
  17. I think this is an argument between the writers and the artists... story significance vs. visual excitement... Clearly many more books sport covers more interesting than Marvel 9.. I think MMC #9 has a superior cover to those other Cap and MMC books as well. Obviously it's just personal taste but I do believe for a lot of people MMC #9 is a grail book. Whenever I used to bring a copy to a show to show off people would fawn all over any copy I had saying it was one of their favorite books of all time but I don't ever remember anyone saying that about a later number MMC or Cap book. Like I said, I just think it's gotten so expensive that most of them just can't afford a copy anymore.

  21. I like the cap 1/3, all selects 1-2, USA 7-8 for sure. All due respect I can't get myself to like Cap 46 or MM 40/44/46. I still like the mm9 even if it has tanked. . Rick, for years MM9 has always been one of those books that you would rarely see at a show on a dealers wall and had super demand. It's a tremendous Subby cover. I agree that Marvel #9 is still a big boy's book and a top tier Timely. Lots of people want it but not too many people can afford it. I think it went too expensive too fast. When I was upgrading copies the price really started to jump and that just pushed it up too high, too quick for the average person to afford. And like you, I just don't understand the appeal for a Cap #46 or MM 40/44/46 over a MMC #9. I don't put them in the same ballpark as a MMC #9.
  22. I'm afraid to post in this thread because it takes too long.
  23. Agreed. That is the purpose of this "DISCUSSION" thread. Everyone here realizes it may have sold via PM, so there is no reason not to link the thread. Heck, he just may not like folks named ray and won't budge on the price to them. Anyone else, "Sure $1000 discount!!!!" Also, ray, there is a little button at the bottom right of every post that says "Quote". It makes the conversation much easier to follow when quoting someone else. I'm Roy. Maybe he hates Rays and Roys.
