  1. Serious question... What purpose do the other graders serve?
  2. Was any kind of explanation offered as to why he sold your book?
  3. my record is 17 virtual drinks without puking.
  4. Why do you think CGC is doing this then?
  5. Isn't it a shame that this has become (for a very long time now) a very real concern?
  6. "CGC lost my books!" - a much too common phrase these days. Maybe, after the first time it happened, CGC should've tried it's hardest to prevent it from happening again. Perhaps this incident never would've happened?
  7. Just spitballing here, but I would think that any book grading ~1.8 would have very distinguishable defects.
  8. I wonder if they knew each other? Scum1 - "My way makes so much more $" Scum2 - "Yeah, but my way is so much easier!" * high five *
  9. I'm not sure how it was determined that cameras were not needed when storing comics worth $1000s and $10000s.
  10. Never seen it. I know what I'll be watching tonight.
  11. I'm not sure what's more disappointing ... the fact that it did happen or the fact that it could happen.
  12. I'm wondering to myself if it's SOP for this kind of ignoring over there, or if it was a 'perfect storm' scenario (multiple employees dropping the same ball). I've seen numerous posts by people (in the Ask CGC section) informing them of books being entered into the system with the wrong title, issue, printing, whatever. They are ALWAYS told the same thing ... it'll get fixed down the pipe. It's hit or miss if it is.
  13. Well, I wouldn't necessarily say fail.
  14. Has anyone ever wondered how this stuff even gets to QC in the first place? Upside down books, backwards books, wrong labels, etc, etc, ... how does this kind of stuff happen in the first place, even before it gets to QC?
  15. And there it is. "Money over quality" - such a fine mantra for a company.
  16. I'm not so sure about this. @CGC Mike is checking on the answer to the question I asked him.
  17. Just to be clear... Let's say you spent $10,000 on a 9.8 comic. It turns out that it's on the list, so you send it in to be evaluated. CGC decides that it indeed has been switched/tampered and it is actually a 9.4. CGC will keep the book and compensate the owner of the book the FMV of a 9.4?
  18. Agreed. The question that CGC is NOT asking themselves is "How can we correct this problem?" The question that they ARE asking themselves is "How can we correct this problem as cheaply as possible?"
