  1. My goodness! Talk about a horse race!! The current bids on these two books are $11 apart based on a recent email I received from the Link.
  2. I got a batch of roughly 15 books back not long ago and I did not notice much of a difference from prior subs. Since they are in the opinion issuing business it's never a exact science and a bit of a numbers game. Out of the 15 maybe 10 were within a grade of my expectations. A couple came in significantly higher (2 + grades) than I anticipated. A couple came in significantly lower. Nothing that would sway me to jump off the bandwagon. I will concur the OP's ASM 1 looks a little better than 2.5, at least in my opinion.
  3. It sounds like that book is determined to have a place in your personal collection. That is certainly a terrible set of circumstances, but somehow someway this book made it's way back to you. The grade on the label, whether it's 2.5, 3.0 or 3.5 is really just a formailty. It was destined to be yours.
  4. Not a feel good purchase but a beautiful card nonetheless Probably a 7-8. I have not had any recent comic buys worth posting
  5. We need to start charging $.75 a grade for PGMs.
  6. Bob is correct. However, if CGC determines the centerfold could be from a different copy of Tec 359 they will give the book a green, qualified label and note the married centerfold. Assuming no shinanigans it will get a blue label.
  7. I am of the belief your logic is accurate but I am unsure to what extent.
  8. I'd guess 7.0 is best case for a blue label popped staple. I wouldn't sweat the centerfold unless it was completely detached.
  9. I think this is a pretty good analysis and along the lines of what I was thinking.
  10. The lower right corner looks much nicer in the 9.0 holder. In their restoration policy CGC clearly states they do not consider pressing and dry cleaning restoration, and do not distinguish between pressing a raw book or one in an existing holder. Not everyone agrees with the logic, but it's clearly out there. Not the first book where this has been done. It won't be the last. I'd have a tough time arguing it doesn't look every bit a 9.0 though.
  11. Nothing that would keep it below 9.4 from what I can tell.
  12. That spine looks awfully nice. It helps compensate for a couple other flaws. I'm a little higher than the others at 7.0.
