  1. With the Disney acquisition of 20th Century Fox's entertainment division, wouldn't it be cool (assuming the rights were involved) if the Brood become the Giger Aliens in a movie? They're basically a swipe of them anyway.
  2. The difference I see is that Marvel Age is editorial content, and the Wolverine scenario is marketing (advertising) content, whereas a pinup or a cover (without an appearance as part of a story) is still creative content. I do agree a pinup is rather weak, but when the whole Gwenpool situation popped up I had to ask myself why Deadpool's Secret Secret Wars *felt* like it's the right book, and that's the distinction that fits my gut on the books that are important.
  3. If one is determined to have a slabbed 9.8 and can't inspect the books before purchasing, buying a bunch of them would be the way to go. Reselling would not be the reason a person bought so many, although reselling the ones that aren't slab-worthy could be one action to come out of the process.

  5. Can you get it for a dollar? Then sure! Is it going to set you back ten grand? Then no.
  6. I'm convinced Quesada had a stash of Marvel Super Heroes #8 somewhere.
  7. Here's the best way to cash in on overlooked comics: 1. Hoard a cheap book containing the first appearance of an obscure character no one cares about 2. Become a top comics writer or artist and insist on including that obscure character prominently in your work. 3. Sell.
  8. The mutant books around this time (e.g. this, the Deadpool mini, and Phalanx Covenant) are great evidence that comic cover design was moving digital. And that someone not experienced with graphic design had a go at them (WAY too many typefaces and scaled to ruin the fontography).
  9. I pulled my Captain Marvel #17 2nd print (slabbed at 9.4) out of their back issue bins, a day after they announced the Captain Marvel movie.
  10. I'd say you'd have to be careful about key issues, but the 2 double covers that I have that I'm aware of are Avengers 294 and Detective 60-something (one of the Clayface issues). No reason to specifically fake those.
  11. They did that with the NYCC variant of Shadowman/Rae Sremmurd. It was the A cover with the NYCC logo on it.
  12. Right? Especially if an alleged 9.8 Silver Sable with than many obvious spine ticks is selling for that price.
  13. I want to read about the computers that said yes to drugs. That would be the more interesting story, I think.
  14. For Batman's cape to be so high up on the left side of the cover, his hand has to be holding it there, right? So whose hand is that embracing the woman?
  15. I think Valiant will eventually distribute the Ninjak book and the value will come down for that. But the DMG books should maintain decent prices
  16. Quantum & Woody reprints are doing well: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Valiant-Comics-Quantum-and-Woody-1-CBLDF-Exclusive-Second-Print-ONE-OF-A-KIND-/142628277054?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&nma=true&si=pFTlRlcxxu2vX58kDOnf5BcxjT4%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
  17. Or even high prices. Lots of Golden Age books will bring in a pretty penny because they're not easy to find. That doesn't automatically make them keys.
  18. Obviously it's more difficult to determine a price going forward, but an auction indicates there are at least two people willing to pay a certain amount right now. Should any books that haven't had a sale in X amount of time be dropped?
  19. Why is that? It's a raw copy that's already close to recent 9.8 prices for books at the bottom of the list, and has nearly a week to go.
  20. Nice cover. But not a key. I can't think of any other situation where an artist's only work on a title is important. A writer's or artist's first work on a title or character that they became closely associated with? Sure. That contributes to a book being considered key. (Think Adams on GA, Moore on Swamp Thing, Miller on Daredevil, McFarlane on Spidey, etc.). McFarlane covers are getting a bump, and that might make this book pricey, but that doesn't make this book a key.
  21. Okay, so this one will make the top 100: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Valiant-Comics-Quantum-and-Woody-1-CBLDF-Exclusive-Second-Print-ONE-OF-A-KIND/142628277054?hash=item21354ecb3e:g:YtQAAOSw8DJaNqHj
