  1. Harbinger 3 variant seeing some new highs: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=harbinger+3+variant&_in_kw=1&_ex_kw=&_sacat=0&LH_Sold=1&_udlo=&_udhi=&_samilow=&_samihi=&_sadis=15&_stpos=10018&_sargn=-1%26saslc%3D1&_salic=1&_sop=12&_dmd=1&_ipg=100&LH_Complete=1
  2. Personally I think the Copper Age boundaries should be expanded, with Early Copper including the rise of multiple new Indy companies, and Late Copper including the addition of Indy companies with new superhero lines (Valiant, Image, Ultraverse, Comics Greatest World, Milestone, etc.). The relaunching of some of Marvel's long-running series (ASM, FF, Avengers, etc.) and the end of some of those new universes is a good place for the transition to a new age.
  3. If bad books get the average and good books get more then how is the average the average?
  4. I was excited to find my 72 Moderns shipped last week, but there's been no change since Sunday night, when they were listed at a local facility and en route to the destination.
  5. People are running out of things to look for, so are expanding the net quite wide
  6. What's a reasonable price for a CGC 9.6 of Gotham Sirens #1 2nd print?
  7. And now that I think about it, I was buying a lot of my books at stationery stores and 7-11s then. I may have newsstand versions of a lot of those spideys. I need to check my books
  8. It's one of the first issues of Spidey that I bought. The green sticks with me.
  9. My understanding from the pics is that it was in a bag, but that corner wasn't protected.
  10. I'm helping a friend who is no longer interested in the bulk of the 3000 or so comics he accumulated in his youth. Most are late-Silver and Bronze. In general I know what to look for as far as superhero comics go (he has a Batman 227 & 232, now at CGC, Marvel Team-up 1, Marvel Premiere 1, some Wonder Woman keys, and a bunch of Hulks that might include the Wolverine issues, etc.), but a good portion of his collection aren't superhero books. He's got a lot of Harvey, Dell/Gold Key, etc.; books based on cartoons or comics in that vein. Anyone have a list of keys I should watch out for? I have an Overstreet guide, so I can check there, and eBay results, but of course the latter may show low results for potentially valuable books without a huge market. Any help is appreciated.
  11. Nice! I have no pics of the slabs yet (shipping back to me now), but I got these from a dollar bin at a con a few years ago:
  12. I wonder why the Black Panther mini from 1988 isn't included.
  13. Agreed. Especially as it appeared in some -script font when I was viewing on my iPad and was very difficult to read, so I just skipped over the post.
  14. 50 of 72 Modern went from Verified to Scheduled for Grading to Graded on 7/14. Today the other 22 popped right over to Graded. 16 Value still at Verified.
  15. I don't think "Modern" Drax or Nebula is particularly noteworthy. It's not quite the same as Groot, who was essentially a one-character when first introduced. I think basically decades have to go by, and for there to be a significant change to be made to the character, for the first appearance in a different comic age to be relevant from a collecting standpoint
  16. I don't expect the Ninjak wesbseries to bring many non-comic readers to Valiant, but I think it will raise awareness amongst comic readers that aren't currently reading Valiant. They're putting out a lot of quality reads. Sooner or later people looking for that will take notice. Considering the low numbers, Valiant is ripe for speculation. There's risk, sure, but the numbers suggest a high potential payoff.
  17. I think this is what you're looking for: https://www.cgccomics.com/news/viewarticle.aspx?IDArticle=4083&
  18. He had already worked for DC (on Infinity Inc). Since he did seem to be a fairly quick artist (I don't think he took breaks on ASM when they were bi-weekly in the summer), maybe someone in editorial pointed to him as someone who could fill in on the title in a pinch.
  19. jmatt's definitely a Valiant fan, but I can't imagine he won't give up plenty for sale after securing a 9.8 for himself (if he doesn't already have some). I think a bunch of those Porky's Valiant auctions were good bets for speculating, but they all went for far too much to be worth it, in my opinion. I do hope that Valiant's future is bright, and I will pick up extra books here and there on the cheap as a spec play, but there is too much risk for me to speculate on this scale.
