  1. There is a difference between being offended (an emotional reaction) and thinking that something is offensive (an evaluation of a statement, image, etc., as to whether it is intended to cause offense or likely to result in it). Maybe only people who are a part of particular ethnic group should be deciding what is and what is not offensive to that particular group.
  2. The relevant post which came to mind when you said you pre-ordered: "If you registered your interest to pre-order at whereisbadidea.com then you need to confirm your pre-order with the selected store. If you contacted a store directly and pre-ordered that way you also need to confirm your order with your store." And: "whereisbadidea.com registers interest and forwards to the selected store. The store has to confirm with you that they will indeed fill the pre-order. Each store will have different requirements."
  3. Dinesh has been participating in the discussion about pre-ordering in a Bad Idea thread over on the Valiantfans board, if you want to ask him directly: http://www.valiantfans.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=53659
  4. JLI 18 & 19 is really when his popularity took off. I think those are undervalued (and would make a nice pair of slabs displayed next to each other). Can't really beat those Bisley covers on his first mini. Perhaps the most underappreciated is Omega Men 37, the first Lobo solo (solobo?) story, and the debut of the "Main Man" look, rather than the mirrored-Metamorpho/clown outfit he had in his first appearance.
  5. You can't copyright ideas. You can, however, try to sue someone who lifts your ideas into submission
  6. The only thing that makes sense here is that if they're not printing much more than the pre-order numbers, then you may get a lot more people pre-ordering all of the future books, rather than waiting to grab it off the shelf. Since all of the creators involved have good track records, I can't see there being much disappointment in having to pre-order on the part of people that are buying them to read them.
  7. Someone is going to be disappointed in this purchase if they were going by the description and not the pics: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Superman-50-1990-Newsstand-2nd-Print-RARE-NM-Krista-Of-The-Krimson-Kryptonite-/284158860161?hash=item4229301b81%3Ag%3ANYkAAOSwoUBgDUSF&nma=true&si=sYFZpAP8jgg2HhKdrZ3u8RpT1os%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  8. And I thought I did well by buying a 9.6 for $100 and a 9.8 for $200 a few years ago and reselling them last year at $200 and $550.
  9. It never hurts to reiterate good information, especially when bad information gets repeated.
  10. People are going to be pissed when they realize that they didn't buy the first unofficial appearance of Harry Potter in a comic, but rather, considering that all of the other magicians in that pic are magicians from comics, and the detail of the wand, what they actually purchased was an unofficial (and not the first) appearance of Timothy Hunter from Books of Magic.
  11. So, just occurred to me. There aren't many actors that come to mind that have completed the Disney trifecta (Marvel, Star Wars, Disney Animated features). Ming-Na Wen is one (as Melinda May on Agents of SHIELD, Mulan, and now Mandalorian/Boba Fett). SLJ has two, with Mace Windu and Nick Fury. What Disney animated character should he play?
  12. I think I had 6 or 8 copies of that Annual. I sent off 2 for grading a few years ago and got 9.8s on both. Now I need to figure out where I put the rest, since they're all likely worth grading
  13. Newsstand Editions of Uncanny X-Men Annual 14 are going for over $400
  14. This is a label I can get behind. Acknowledges when it was published in relation to their comic appearance, but no mention of a "first appearance"
  15. If you want to argue this then Superman's first appearance isn't Action #1.
  16. No they don't. They were depicted in ads before their first appearances.
  17. For a while in the '80s the New Teen Titans were almost as big as the X-Men, but that was mostly while Wolfman and Perez were still working on it.
  18. Was that the only printing you had up? EIther way, good to hear, as I have a few extras of that printing.
