  1. Defenders 17 & 18 (Wrecking Crew cameo and 1st full) are seeing increased activity.
  2. Maybe there will be a retcon revealing this was actually Misty Knight.
  3. I'm very happy that my comic-buying impulses have become rather limited; only Valiant books I don't have (which are trending to more reasonable prices, fortunately), and Milestone, of which I have an almost complete set but will look to upgrade the odd book or tow; fortunately managed to snag a decent Static 1 Platinum for a not-outrageous price.
  4. There was a bar near my old office called Rogue that my boss's brother used to call Rouge. He wasn't all that bright.
  5. I bought one of these from Mile High after it started going up. It was the best grade available, which they graded as VG, but it's a possible 9.8 after a press.
  6. I have just the one, so not particularly interested in pumping. Figured I'd share for those that like to collect that sort of thing.
  7. I would think there would be *some* interest. Maybe after the movie?
  8. There were 2 bagged copies on eBay. One appeared to be creased, and on the other the seller was asking for 20 and didn't seem willing to go below 15.
  9. Found something interesting yesterday. Not sure if this has been posted before, but I haven't seen any mention. Wizard 90, released the month before Inhumans #5, included a Marvel Knights Wave 2 Sketchbook that had some interesting content. The cover and some interior spreads:
  10. Can anyone share their results from submitting books to CCS that were originally polybagged, and stayed in bags for the vast majority of the time since release? Is there a better option than CCS for removing polybag creases?
  11. If I remember correctly, the little bit at the end of 298 includes dialogue by Eddie Brock as the symbiote slides up his arm. Since Venom is the combo of the two and they're not fully bonded, maybe that's why? Also, if I'm not mistaken, there are different styles of word bubble or font used for Venom, so maybe that's why; it's Eddie talking, not Venom.
  12. I'm sending in some Milestone Collectors Editions, and even though the seam of the bag is protected from the book by one of the inserts, it still managed to affect the book BEHIND it, leaving a crease along the front cover
  13. You're making an awful lot of assumptions based on your opinion of the art.
  14. Some people held them, I'm sure. But plenty of people would have also tossed them away. Or at the very least not cared for them the same way as a comic book.
  15. The Tatooz insert wasn't line-wide? I know Rom 40 had it as well. At least some copies did; I had an extra copy that I included in a lot for sale on eBay, and someone asked me if it had the Tatooz insert. It didn't, but there was no sign of damage from anything being removed. But the copy in my collection did have them.
  16. Some people think it's necessary to have one of every possible version to have a "complete" collection.
  17. I think Deadpool is bigger than Venom. Miles might eventually take the mantle, but I don't think he's there yet.
  18. I imagine that what you're thinking is Jim Lee-ish is actually Scott Williams's inks, since he inked a lot of Jim Lee's X-Men work.
  19. Fads come and go in comic collecting. "Hot" artists, cover enhancements, etc. But the one thing that seems to be consistent is the desirability of first appearances. I think the speculation on advertising and editorial content will wane as well in time.
  20. Maybe everyone else is holding them wrong, which is why he's so good.
  21. My rule of thumb is that it probably *starts* to make a difference (but probably not by much) around the time they started using art other than just the Spidey head in the box, and then probably shifts up a gear when barcodes were added to the Direct box (1993, I believe).
