  1. It's been reported elsewhere. https://www.cnbc.com/2020/11/25/viacomcbs-sells-simon-schuster-to-penguin-random-house-for-2-billion.html?fbclid=IwAR0tNEgZbtR8L4ClYoY63QG7oyuGmyHnaaNfWlABxbr2JQ8jwEEbrm_UYYo
  2. Well, we *are* on the chat boards of a company that exists to seal comics inside of cases, so I would expect the dialogue here to be more about collecting rather than the content.
  3. When the PS2 came out, apparently there was some random sweepstakes that one of the mail-order CD companies was doing, which unbeknownst to me, I had entered by making a purchase, and won. I found this out when a PS2 showed up at my house. Wasn't into video games, so that went up on eBay.
  4. You shouldn't be sending a bagged book in to be graded in the first place. Take that sucker out of the bag and examine it first to see if it's worthy of grading.
  5. Also, did these books pop at all when he appeared in the first Wolverine movie? Or was that prior to the period when any rumored screen appearances made a book go crazy overnight?
  6. Is there something going on in the comics, or has anyone heard any rumors about Kestral/John Wraith? I had a couple bids on a lot (that had been available for a while) of Wolverine 48 49 & 50 last week, and then multiple watchers on a lot that included 60 this week (again, that had been available for a while). Gotta think that someone knows something. Fortunately, no bids on the lot with 60 yet, and that might be a 9.8, so I think I'm going to send that off for grading. And I have a nice small stack of 48s.
  7. You're not going to find that, because publishers don't announce the print runs. The best you're going to be able to do is find if the estimated sales were reported by the distributors that supplied comic shops at the time, and the distribution statements that they regularly published at the time in the comics. But those were for newsstand distribution, and they don't mention specific issues
  8. That's a lot of money without being able to personally inspect the book in person to determine whether you agree it's indeed a 10.
  9. I open them, but keep the bag (if there are any graphics on them) and whatever is inside. I use a razor to slice the bag as close to the top as possible so it's as intact as possible. If re-selling at some point, I can include the bag with the purchase.
  10. I have every issue up to 10. Oh well, at least I have 8 in 9.8
  11. Hopefully it was just thrown in the garbage. Seriously, what is even going on here?
  12. I know it's not technically a variant, but the limited edition that McFarlane signed and stamped from when it was released is my favorite copy.
  13. But even so, this book was published more than a decade after her first published appearance. Considering that this wasn't fully written by the creative team of Ms. Marvel, so we even know if Rogue was initially intended to be included in the issue of Ms Marvel that never saw print? Or is it possible she was included by the writers that completed the story?
  14. Speculation that Rogue will be the villain in Captain Marvel 2.
  15. I guess this is why my Hellblazer #1 finally sold: https://screenrant.com/constantine-2-development-keanu-reeves-peter-stormare/?utm_source=SR-FB-P&utm_medium=Social-Distribution&utm_campaign=SR-FB-P&fbclid=IwAR2ozVwEeU8yHbUoHcuQcVolX7y_FmU0fhioBXic_8tM3BX73qXtaOu6KDQ
  16. Funny. He's been a big character in the show since the beginning. Weird that just now they explode.
  17. The '90s Valiant Comics with the Gold Key characters are kinda in that boat now.
  18. I forget where I saw it (maybe an editorial page in one of the early Valiant comics?), but Shooter recalled how this issue came about. Apparently some of the SNL people were big Marvel geeks, and the Marvel people were big SNL geeks, and on a whim one called the other about collaborating on doing something, and they were all on board for it. Came together very quickly. I wonder if the Letterman issue of Avengers would be in the same boat regarding reprinting.
  19. Thanks for the heads-up. A few years ago I went through a friend's OO collection, and he had a copy of this. I thought about getting it graded for him but ultimately only graded a couple Batman books (1st Ra's, and the classic Adams cover that's an homage to an early Detective cover; I forget the #). Will have to let him know in case he wants to sell.
  20. I understand that. I was asking whether anyone knows if there had been a bump when he showed up on Arrow a few years back. Vigilante has never been an A-list character. Either way, time to unload my run of books from the '80s series
