No, I meant your follow up offer[ s ], not his prices (you already posted those). I've never heard of a seller blocking someone giving offers unless they felt their time was being wasted (tiny offer bumps or progressively lower offers). If his price for what you wanted was too high, and you gave more than one offer before being blocked, it seems possible that's what the seller decided, so I'm just curious if it was either one. Or was it neither one, and you were simply blocked? And as @steveinthecity asked, were there rude responses in the negotiations?

And I'm not him- I don't sell comics, and if I ever do it's very unlikely I'll do it on eBay.

I merely told him what i paid for the ones i already have. he didn't want to hear it and just blocked me because of it.

I don’t currently see the #2 so did the seller get his asking price from another buyer?  Was curious about the seller being upset at your offer, were his/her replies rude or unprofessional?  It’s good to know those things as that’s not a person I’d want to do business with.

we never actually spoke other then when i made 1 or 2 offers and that was it. then he had blocked me, because he didn't like my offers. his overpriced blue ashcan # 1 and # 3 are still currently floating on ebay. maybe he just removed the # 2 as there are no sold listings for it

    There's a blue 2 right there....

As for the platinum, I'm not holding my breath. I'll keep my eyes out, but they are quite rare

i found mine a couple years back. you probably can still see the pic of it a few pages back. but it was at least 2 or 3 years ago.

I found a blue #2 and a red #1 got them both for $225 the ones on ebay are ridiculous. I understand that they are rare but not a single one has sold in months. Maybe the high prices are not justified since it seems there is a very low demand for these. Anyone who wants them I would recommend going to flea markets and comicbook shops. I found mine at a local flea market.

i was looking at a blue # 2 on ebay. the guy wants $400 for it. i laughed because  blue # 1 i bought for $40. blue # 3 i bought for $100.... i made him some reasonable offers, he then got upset and blocked me. no idea where some of these sellers are coming up with these off the wall prices. im a paitent man. i can wait for a deal.

I'm going to get these graded

The gold and regular mini 2 are absolutely flawless, although I'm sure cgc will find something

Did you write initials on the box for signing?

I have claremont books delivered Feb 2nd that haven't been checked in, that has me forgetting if I wrote initials... :(

Getting a bit worried as deadline to have them in was last Monday

i didn't know to do so til AFTER i had sent them out. So as of yesterday, i received an email stating they have 1 book for fast track modern. so now they do have my books. im wondering what's taking the extra time for them to get my two books shown as received for the signing. i'm sure there's a method to their madness but i'd like to know what is it lol

Link to where people are trying to cancel his career? Talented is debatable. I think his art is plain bad.

there's links on every comic related site you can think of. bleedingmoron, CBR, etc obvisously if someone saw these and is reporting it to all the comic gossip sites, people are trying to do the guy harm. are you ok ? have you not been doing your usual lately?

@GabagoolMarvel is doing an Aliens series that starts next month; contact your LCS or subscribe direct (via Midtown Comics) to get started with issue 1. Equally bummed that DHC lost the Aliens & Predator licenses, I've been a longtime fan of their unique art style. Terminator, not so much; but apparently the IP rights on Terminator are a hot mess & Disney/Marvel have no plans to get anywhere near it. I'm looking forward to seeing what Marvel does with Aliens & Predator; I'm pulling for a Kraven The Hunter Vs. Predator mini-series at some point.

And that's precisely what I'm afraid of. As I said in my prior post. I'm afraid Marvel will G rate aliens comics. G rate as no gore or adult content. More for the youngsters..... That fear is the same with when they start doing predator books as well.

@Gabagool @EmpyreDaveIs absolutely correct; I have the set of Kenner/DHC mini’s on slab from...well, let’s say “over yonder.”

These are a fun “What If” style story, assuming Aliens ended *very* differently & that the following Aliens films never happened. Instead they chronicle Ripley & her Marine team going out & continuing to kick Xenomorph butt-equivalent.

The physical comics are in the typical DHC Aliens art style, which I always liked. Unfortunately, as collectibles, these particular mini comics are expensive little goodies.

First, in their native state, they have been rolled & sealed in the Kenner Toys packaging for around twenty years. Also, not all of the toy packaging was created equal; the Ripley, Marines, and some of the Aliens had adequate space devoted to the rolled up comic. Others, most notably the Bull, Rhino, and Mantis Aliens, did *not*; the comics are placed in direct contact with the action figures, and usually bent/crushed on those issues. Long story short, they must be pressed to have any hope of laying flat.

Second, there was a surcharge for additional heat seals on the inner sleeve due to the small size of the comics. It ended up costing $120 each to have them pressed & slabbed. I’ve given thought to sending them to CGC under the crossover promotion since the rest of my graded Aliens books are in CGC slabs, and my OCD is fierce.

The set you found looks like they've already been pressed, which is great if you're thinking about having them graded. Good luck & let us know how they turn out.

Selling them can be challenging. The last person I interacted with directly was at C2E2; had them bagged/boarded (they obviously hadn't been pressed) & was asking $50/each. The only retail guys I know of who move them once in a while are Mile High Comics or Lone Star Comics/MyComicShop. I took my graded set to a board member/owner last year to see if he would be interested in buying & he passed; said they would sit too long in his inventory.

A fun bit of Aliens collectible goodness. I’ve got all of the first run toys (none of the second or third series repaints), and plan on incorporating them into an Aliens theme in my office . Going to try to fit in not just the action figures, but some of the NECA accessory items (eggs & facehugger stasis cylinders), as well as the Alien Hive play set w/ movie accurate Queen Alien.

Thanks for sharing the info. There isn't alot of people that either know about these. I bought mine for a very good deal back when I originally made this post. I don't  believe I'll grade them but I will most definitely hold onto these. They're becoming more and more scarce nowadays and damn near impossible to find. If you have some of the neca toys, I'm sure you see they also come with reprints of these comics too. I'm bummed dark horse post the license for both aliens and predator. I'm a little worried how Marvel will do with both Franchises. Possibly G rate them compared to how dark horse used to do. We'll see I guess

I am looking to complete a whole set of the 12 maxx aschan. I have the blue #1 & #3 . So I have 2 of 12. Wish me luck and if anyone has any tips or leads ( other than the insane people trying to sell them for 3k on ebay) please let me know. Thanks.

i will tell you this..... be prepared to wait for a deal to pop on on majority of these. i started the task myself a year or so back and still haven't gotten them all yet. some of the prices you see online for even the blue versions are ridiculous. one guy is trying to $400 for  blue #2 currently. the yellow versions and black versions do pop up but they're in that pricey range. you should also try to find the wizard ashcans as well. the gold and platinum ones. platinum ashcans rarely come up and when they do, they're snatched up quickly.

  10. excellent mini series on a character that doesn't get used a whole lot. you  honestly can't go wrong with Peter David writing a Hulk book;. i enjoyed issue # 1 and same with # 2. i look forward to the next one. There was one gripe i had. which was the standard cover for # 2 was reused art from i believe an older hulk mini or one shot.

Here's my comment that has zero relevance to the thread:

It's called Coppa. Or Capocollo. Even Capicola gets a pass if you're from North America. It's never Gabagool. Gabagool is wrong :baiting:

You're incorrect sir. if you're from new york or jersey and or were raised from people who were from those areas, you will most definitely call it Gabagool and NOT "CAPICOLA"
