  1. Hit up a local flea market on Sunday as they were advertising a comic "show". There was drek a plenty, but I'm always looking for Conans to fill in my run. They were running a special $30 to fill a bag. Ended up with about 60 Conans. Not bad at 50 cents a pop. Of course these are lower grade, but at that price I am very happy.
  2. They don't let everyone play with the pulse rifles.
  3. I wonder how much he paid to store these books over the years.
  4. I wonder if they have done this for everyone who got charged extra for shipping after the fact.
  5. Deep down I'm not sure I ever got over Conan the Destroyer.
  6. If I'm not mistaken I've seen this book posted multiple times on ebay. The price seems somewhat reasonable given how things have gone up so much. I'm wondering if the label is scaring people off.
  7. Any thoughts on what is gong on with this Vampi label? Did is just slide inside the case?
  8. Just shocking I tell you. Officially cancelled and no refunds. BALTIMORE, MARYLAND - September 10, 2020 - The Baltimore Comic-Con is excited to make a number of announcements regarding our 2020 event. Launching in cooperation with our friends at Mainframe Comic-Con, our 2020 show will be held as an online live event, replicating the comic convention you've come to love for these past 20 years but in a virtual environment! The Baltimore Convention Center has now confirmed that they will not be hosting any gatherings for the remainder of the calendar year while they continue services as a COVID testing center, as well as maintaining a COVID field hospital facility capability, housing hospital beds to support another surge should that occur. Since we cannot get together physically in 2020, our exhibitors, retailers, Artists Alley, guests, the Ringo Awards, and programming will transition to our online live event, enabling fans the world over to experience the Baltimore Comic-Con! We will be making announcements on our mailing list (available at baltimorecomiccon.com) and social media, so please sign up and follow! If you're a regular attendee, you'll find yourself in a familiar environment. If you've never been able to attend (especially since geography and budget are no longer considerations), this is a great opportunity to come and get a taste of the show! TICKETS All tickets purchased for the 2020 event will automatically transfer to our October 22-24, 2021 show. Frank Miller Tickets will transfer as well -- Frank has already confirmed his plan to attend in 2021. Additionally, our friends at AfterShock Comics, Source Point Press, and Valiant Entertainment have each donated $10 vouchers for ticket holders to purchase merchandise at their booths in 2021. Ticket holders will also receive comics and trade paperback/graphic novels electronically this year -- Dark Ark Volume 1 and Animosity Volume 1 from AfterShock Comics, The Damnation of Charlie Wormwood TPB and DEK Volume 2 #1 from Source Point Press, and Bloodshot Book One TPB and X-O Manowar #1 from Valiant Entertainment. Additionally, BOOM! Studios will be providing PDFs of The Woods Volume 1 and Wynd issue #1, both by James Tynion IV and Michael Dialynas. Funds received from ticket (as well as from exhibitor booth sales) enable the continuity of our show, paying for real costs such as the rental of the Baltimore Convention Center, ongoing operations expenses, and costs associated with marketing activities as examples. If you are suffering from a financial hardship due to the pandemic and simply cannot justify the wait until next year, we will do our best to issue refunds on a case-by-case basis, which may take us time to do (we hope you don't choose that option, as we want to see everyone in 2021!). We appreciate your understanding and patience.
  9. This is starting to come together for me (I'm not that smart so it takes time). CGC knows this would never work if they just charged your credit card after so much time. It can certainly be distputed. But if they add it to a current invoice and you agree to pay it that is perfectly fine. Also, I assume since it is tacked on to a current invoice they have your books as "ransom". Don't pay the extra fee and you don't get your books. I'm assuming you get charged before you get your books.
  10. You mean only punishing your repeat customers is not a brilliant business move? Seriously, the lesson here is only submit once.
  11. Needs a little cleaning up. This had never been unpacked before.
  12. That seems pretty different. As you said you were billed for the commission and paid it. Later on you were billed for the CGC portion that included shipping. Now if the rep texted you months later and said they are charging you more for one of the items you already paid that was be what I was asking.
  13. I might have missed this, but has this only happened when someone has an additional invoice and it gets added on or has anyone gotten a completely separate charge without having a new invoice to pay?
  14. When you are 90 on your deathbed you can take comfort knowing you only have 25 more boxes to sell to break even.
  15. I wasn't talking strictly about CGC. I literally meant ordering anything. I've never heard of something like this.
  16. Has anyone ever in their history of ordering things ever been charged additional for shipping once the transaction was complete and you had the product in hand? I can't recall ever hearing about something like that with any product. The closest I can think of (which isn't the same at all really) is when you order a statue being made they might charge an estimate and then make a correction once they have the statue in hand with exact dimensions/weights.
