Christmas is a real possibility. In 2023.

I would consider setting my magazines on fire before submitting them. It would be less painful and a whole lot quicker.

General idea of what you have might be helpful. -
I got both editions. Been out of town and haven't had a chance to open them up yet.

Mine went out today. If you ordered from the museum some people got them already.

Where in the world was the Quality Control at CGC???
wombat replied to Wally's Comics's topic in Comics General
Its not like those books aren't easy to come by. They could acquire books in the same grade and have them signed. Assuming the owner of the books would want that. -

There is one thing CGC can't do. And that is send you the wrong book. It should be the golden rule that under penalty of death can't happen. And here we are. -
Where in the world was the Quality Control at CGC???

@CGC Mike Is there any reasonable explanation why this wasn't caught other than no one actually looked at the book after it was slabbed? I mean its not really possible to say someone looked at this book and also missed this. -
" I'll never forget, the Egyptian Queen. I got that whole painting done, in about a day and a half, and I looked at it. It was done as far as I was concerned. Then I looked at her face, and I didn't like it. "Damn it, I don't like that face. I'm going to make it better." So I started to repaint the face, and I painted the face, and I painted it again, and I painted it again. Well, I was like three days trying to get the right face, And I suddenly got sort of blinded to it. I couldn't see any more. I just looked at it and didn't know where I was any more. It's really weird, and so I finally just settled for any face, and brought it in, and they printed it that way, and then I forgot about it. So, a couple of months later I get it back, now I was fresh again. And I just looked at it and "Pow!" I whacked in the face that you see in all the prints. It's really weird. But what happened is that you just become blinded by it. When I got it back, looked at fresh, her face was painted in five minutes. Now or not? Doh! Not. What a difference one letter makes.

Not surprisingly the Clayton Crain Fan Page on Facebook is now allowing any talk about this.

Would you have any faith they won't swap the labels on them? -
I saw it on Facebook.

I only realized books were being destroyed very recently. Comics Elite was having a live Facebook sale. For every book someone bought, they would rip one in half to reduce the number out there and in theory make them more valuable. They did say the reason for this was they had to do a minimum print run that was more than they wanted. This was their solution.

@CGC Mike Question on something like this. Is there something in the QC process where if a book is sent back for a reholder for a defect does the person doing the final QC know about the original reason the book was sent back?
