wombat replied to Buzzetta's topic in Comics General
I honestly was assuming this was some type of scam. These go for $40+ depending on condition. Got this for $8 shipped on Facebook Marketplace. Package is in great condition. -
That was rough. We ate the cat and were eyeing up one of the kids. Thank god its over.

Where in the world was the Quality Control at CGC???
wombat replied to Wally's Comics's topic in Comics General
So many questions. -
Media mail is the only type of service where the post office can and will sometimes open up the package just to see if what is inside qualifies to actually be media mail. So the risk is always there. The chances of them packing it back up like you packed it are slim and none. All to save a few bucks. If you choose this option for anything of any actual value that person deserves 100% of the blame.
-
Yes he was. He chose media mail.

And that Neal Adams for $15K. Its not like the guy is dead. He definitely was doing showing regularly before Covid and I saw him post a video in the last few weeks. I assume you can recreate that book for less than 2K.

Glad to see the seller giving a full refund. While I realize this isn't the seller's fault, it certainly is "not as described" when it got to you.
-
I think most of us just use The Creeps thread for this one as well.

What does "willing to pay GPA" signal to you as a Seller?
wombat replied to KPR Comics's topic in Comics General
This debate has certainly taken place before on the boards. Seller lists a book that is going for $50 for $150 with a best offer. Some would consider offering $50 a lowball offer simply based on amount off the original asking price without considering what the book actually goes for. -

Interesting. I would assume this is a state by state law. I've certainly never seen it in practice in a comic shop. And I can think of one business that would cease to be if this was the case. There is a huge vintage/older toy store by me where 75% of the items have whatever the original sticker was and you have to ask them for a current price. -
My mags were received (meaning delivered) on 4/8). So I'm hoping for November. That is painful to actually put in writing.
-
The second one just went for $227.50
-
Great pick up. Didn't this just sell recently?

Compare it to the original. Can it be a reflection of the statue? Sure. But if you just look at it on its own it could definitely be the silhouette of a woman.
-
Here is the original and the revised. Something I never noticed until this weekend. In the revised version it appears there is a woman holding up the base of the statue. One of the main changes was that Frank did not like in the original that the flame from the volcano drew in your eyes instead of the statue.
-
I thought you would like that one Dave.

Step 1: Did they apply my membership credit. Step 2: Did they charge me the proper rate.
