  1. It would be interesting to hear what their strategy is. While obviously a fire would be horrific, releasing all that water on the entire warehouse would be pretty bad as well.
  2. I wonder what the dollar value of books sitting in CGC's possession at the moment is. Which then makes me wonder what safety systems they have in place if there is a fire. Do they have one of those fancy systems that doesn't just rain water down that would potentially ruin the book?
  3. When they have on site grading it is exactly that. You drop it off during the con and they grade it before the con is over and you can pick it up.
  4. I'm not sure what you are trying to say, but of course if they have on site grading it would jump the line.

  6. Famous Funnies. A bit of a side conversation.
  7. Thanks. I actually acquired a 216 not that long ago.
  8. I understand books recently submitted being backed up, but am surprised with how everything from opening boxes to pressing books to grading to encapsulating, seem to be backed-up so much. Either A.) they're diverting staff / resources to put out other fires or B.) any additional staff they've hired has gone to increasing their in-house signings. Pretty soon CGC will refuse to grade books unless you get them signed first. Yeah, it seems like this one would be an easy "fix". Buy more machines and hire people to run them. I can't imagine it would be hard to train someone to do this.
  9. Saw this on Heritage. https://www.ha.com/information/partial-list-of-stolen-artwork.s?fbclid=IwAR05D1a_zBsiJh182YW-EtdlUmUcBBOgBOuGq2RZOwjP16XXC3gsElU3LtQ
  10. If that is your interpretation of what I said I'm not going to change your mind. Ask yourself this: Do they need to hire more people? If you think the answer is yes then I can't possibly see where you are coming from.
  11. Funny story, I didn't say "they didn't do it period'. Saying they should hire more people doesn't mean they didn't hire any people. It means they should hire even more people if they already did.
  12. Right. Like any business that relies on a specialty skill you plan ahead. Hire people and train them if you can't find them on the street. You figure out a way to make it work.
  13. This is just a weird statement. So in your book if they implemented changed poorly and didn't do enough that is OK. They should get some kind of pass for doing what I suggested. Hey, more power to you if that's your argument, but it seems flimsy.
  14. How do you know they did everything in my post? And how well did they do them if they did?
  15. Hire more. Stop offering 6 week turn arounds on private signings twice a week. Come up with better processes. Better communication. Stuff a big business should be doing.
