  1. I don't collect westerns per se but I'd keep that one. Beautiful cover art.
  2. My last one for this morning as I have some things to take care of but I'll try to sneak some more in this afternoon. Hostage For A Hood by Lionel White Gold Medal 687 PBO 1st Printing July 1957 $40 SOLD to goldust40 Searing Bondage/Headlights cover by James Meese. Probably his most reprinted and sought after cover on top of the fact that White PBO's are highly collected. If you haven't noticed by now, I'm always buying/upgrading Lionel White novels since they are such great page turners as well as featuring GGA by some of the best artists in the genre. Fine. Solid and square. Has some spine wear and edgewear, a small tear on upper rear cover being the worst of it. I've only ever seen one or two high grade copies of this book at crazy prices. A very well presenting copy for the price that can still be read
  3. G.I. Girls by John Jakes Monarch Books 339 April 1963 $30 SOLD per PM to mstrange Classic Marilyn Monroe swipe Headlights/GGA cover by Raymond Johnson from the great GGA period at Monarch Books Tough to grade. Appears unread but has obviously production related tiny chipping around the edges from the cutting machine, like Marvel chipping. Deep colors and gloss. A striking copy.
  4. The Icepick in Ollie Birk by Eunice Sudak Lancer Books 73-467 1st Printing 1966 $25 SOLD to jimjum12 If you like 'em crazy, she's for you. I love Leona and everything about this insane GGA cover except for the fact that I can't find a credit or figure out who painted it. Looks a lot like Fred Fixler's paint technique to me. Fine Plus. Glossy and tight. Has a bit of spine slant. Very light reader crease but no unsightly corner creasing at all. Light dust soiling. Great overall considering it's a Lancer Book.
  5. The Private Practice of Michael Shayne by Brett Halliday Dell 7142 New Dell Edition (Previous was #23 back in 1943) First Dell Printing July 1965 $18 SOLD to goldust40 Another gorgeous GGA cover by Robert McGinnis Very Fine Minus. Glossy copy with deep colors. Appears unread but has a small name on inside front cover. Spine is square and tight. Tiny corner ding upper left and finger bend lower right. A pretty copy. The Brett Halliday books were usually well read.
  6. The Violent World of Michael Shayne by Brett Halliday Dell 9334 First Dell Printing November 1965 $22 SOLD to goldust40 A sublimely elegant GGA cover by Robert McGinnis. You always hear me complain about font-filled covers but they're actually done pretty nicely here. Very Fine. Unread glossy copy with deep colors. Spine is square and tight. Virtually no creasing or edgewear. Light aging/storage evidenced. A beautiful example of book making.
  7. Three Ring Mad Signet S2439 1st edition 1st Print March 1964 $30 Great Alfred E. Neuman circus poster cover, signed Norman Mingo Fine Plus/Very Fine minus. Probably read very lightly once as it has a small name at top of front page. Nice glossy copy with only a couple tiny finger bends. Great colors & page quality. Light edge and surface wear. Tiny discoloration to page edge staining. Light dust soiling. Despite these little flaws, a real nice looking copy.
  8. Our daughter is coming home from college for the weekend today so I'm going to be off and on today but I'll try to get some nice things posted this morning and when I have some time later The Organization Mad Signet S1795 $35 1st edition 1st Print from April 1960 the earliest one I have to offer at this time. Killer shape for a 63 year old pb. Looks like it did on the rack. Very Fine. Probably un-improvable copy. Unread, glossy copy with smooth covers. No reading wear at all, even on spine back. Great colors & page quality. Slight ding on upper left corner back cover. Tiny Paper scrape lower back corner.
  9. I got called to family duties just this moment so promise to start up with tons more goodies tomorrow. I'm flexible this weekend so should have lots of time to post here and there
  10. Boiling Mad Signet D3006 1st Print October 1966 $30 SOLD to goldust40 An incredibly tough Mad 1st Print. I feel like these are uncharted territory. I don't see any sellers having a clue about what a 1st/1st is on these early Signets. Very Fine minus. Unread, glossy copy with a couple of tiny bends to the corners. Great colors & page quality. Very light edgewear. A wowzer.
  11. In our small, small, world, your second paragraph there might be the funniest post ever written here
  12. I've railed against the invasion of the GIANT FONTS and HUGE BLANK SPACES on pb covers starting in the 1960's everywhere I could It killed the paperback painting careers of all the great artists we love. This is a wonderful exception going back the other way toward art
  13. No triggers. These dudes just jacked original works of amazingly talented original artists with no regard for legal rights or professional respect where it should have existed and sold it as pop art and made a lot of money using social media.
  14. The Indigestible Mad Signet P3477 1st Print March 1968 $30 A great copy of a tough Mad 1st Print. I've found these Signets to be extraordinarily confusing as to first editions and first prints but think I got it 100%. Returns guaranteed for any reason as stated but especially if I find out it's not the 1st Print. My PB work is always a work in progress. Very Fine minus/Very Fine. Unread, glossy copy with smooth covers with a hint of reader crease. Finger crease on lower cover. Great colors & page quality. Very light edgewear. A stellar copy.
  15. Mad In Orbit Signet S2157 1st Print August 1962 $30 A great copy of a tough early Mad 1st Print. Mad paperbacks are common as dirt but 1st printings from the 50's and 60's are uncommon, especially in high grade. Very Fine minus. Unread, glossy copy with no bends or creases on the covers. Great colors & page quality. Light edgewear. Some dust soiling mostly to the back covers.
  16. Love the vintage pb spree Rick! I may have to run a $10 book day later in my sale
