  1. The Lost Continent by Edgar Rice Burroughs Ace 49293 Second "Tall" Ace printing December 1973 (Says Third Ace Printing, March 1973 inside but this is actually the 4th overall per isfdb) $10 SOLD to N e r V Gorgeous Frank Frazetta Lost City cover. Not sure how to grade. Looks incredible from the front. Would be Very Fine minus but has some light color transfer on the back cover only. Priced accordingly. Glossy, square, unread copy. Tiny break on the spine. Only has very mild toning to the interiors. Looks super fresh
  2. I'll be posting throughout the morning. The wife and sister-in-law are taking me for an early birthday dinner this afternoon (birthday is tomorrow) Depending on how I feel, I may post more tonight. I'm trying to take lots of pics during the daylight. The night pics show the cover gloss off great but can be harsh, the day pics look more like the book in-hand, which I prefer
  3. Throughout the day - It's weird, I've replied twice to you and both times the board wiped my post when I hit "submit reply"
  4. - I just got to the bottom of my first cup - and who wouldn't want to wake up to some of McGinnis' girls! They might kill you later though Great takes - these are some nice books. I have some more in another box that I'll get to later in the thread but I have a lot of nice diverse stuff I'm going to try to spread out this week
  5. Die Anytime After Tuesday by Carter Brown. Signet P3903 1st Printing June 1969 $15 SOLD to crassus Fine Plus. Unread. Killer spine. Bright colors. Very minor surface and edge wear. Downgrading slightly and price- adjusted (literally) for a partially penned-out price in the upper left corner. (95 cents partially covered and a tiny "50" written at top edge - and no, I wish I paid 50 cents for this copy!) Another GGA trophy babe with great headlights and great pose by McGinnis. Part time lesbian? If I even put that word in my sales listings on ebay they fly out the door. Vintage lesbian fiction has become the hottest thing I can sell.
  6. Another top tier Robert McGinnis cover The Girl Who Was Possessed by Carter Brown. Signet D3472 This is the 3rd Printing (with new cover art) undated - probably from 1968 $25 SOLD to crassus Fine Plus/Very Fine Minus. Unread. Killer spine. Bright colors. Very minor surface and edge wear. You'd be hard pressed to find a better skinny Signet like this one. Well worth a premium.
  7. Ok. I am being called away so I'll leave this crazy Carter Brown McGinnis cover for sale and resume soon. One of Robert McGinnis's greatest back shots imho. This is a beauty for any GGA collection. A stunning glossy copy. EDIT: I was in a rush last night so am updating the info and better pics: Signet D3297 This is the 4th Printing (with new cover art) undated - probably from 1967 $22 SOLD to crassus Fine Plus or better condition - Bright colors. Has a couple light finger bends, otherwise just minor wear.
  8. You are on fire my friend, but I can't blame you! This is a fire hose of high grades you wrassling with!
  9. Brak The Barbarian. Set of Two. I have to keep these together as it is rare to find both in such exceptional condition. The Leonard cover is great and like a freebee with the incredible Frazetta image. Jakes is a legendary author and Leonard is alive and kicking today. $28 SOLD to N e r V Brak Versus the Sorceress. Cover art by Frank Frazetta. Brak versus the Mark Of The Demons. Cover art by Michael Leonard. Fine Plus to VF on both.
  10. The Shadow, The Living Shadow, by Maxwell Grant, Volume 1 No. 1 for the Pyramid Series. Cover art by Jim Steranko One of his Hall Of Fame images imho. $40 SOLD to N e r V The very tough black cover 1st paperback. Fine Plus/Very Fine minus. Killer spine. Gorgeous glossy copy with no bends or creases. Tiny dust/light shadow to the upper corners. A bit of shade/color blend to the top page edge. Some miniscule edgewear. A Blazing copy of the the 1st/1st
  11. The Vault Of Horror Ballantine U2107 1st Print August 1965 A classic of the group of 1960's Ballantine EC collections in high grade $40 SOLD to N e r V Gorgeous copy of a tough Ballantine EC. A must have for Frazetta/EC collectors Fine Plus/Very Fine minus. Killer glossy copy with no bends or creases. Colors and gloss are blazing. Off white pages. Has some very light edgewear and page toning that keeps it from the highest grade but this is a top of the bill copy that is only slightly below the 70"s Burroughs books I just posted in condition.
  12. Edgar Rice Burroughs. The Monster Men. Ace 53589 1974 Incredible cover art by Enric. The 2nd print of the Enric cover I believe. Scarce in either edition in this condition. Another stunner of a cover. I love Frazetta but Enric's cover for this title blows Frazetta's away. $25 SOLD to N e r V An incredible copy. Another one you'll search a long time to improve on. Very Fine. Stunning glossy copy with no bends or creases. Killer spine for a dark cover book. Corners are like razors. Colors and gloss are blazing. Off white pages, minimal toning to interiors. Has a tiny date stamp on top of page edge,
  13. Edgar Rice Burroughs. The Moon Men. Ace 53752 March 1974 The First Frazetta cover for this Burroughs title and a stunner of a cover. $30 SOLD to N e r V An immaculate copy. You'll search a long time to improve on this one. Very Fine. Stunning glossy copy with no bends or creases. Corners are like razors. Colors and gloss are blazing. Off white pages, minimal toning to interiors. Has a tiny date stamp on top of page edge,
  14. This is my fourth sales thread on the boards It's also my birthday week so lots of thoughts of life, liberty and the pursuit of vintage paperbacks in the time we have on this spinning orb I can't keep 'em all so having a lot of fun releasing cool books both old and newer. Lots of high grade and near high grade genre 60's-70's books with the best cover art and plenty of my favorite stuff, the classic publishers from the 1940's-60's Golden Age of vintage paperbacks. I've been buying selling and trading Vintage pb's since the Hancer Price Guide came out back in the 80's. Been on Ebay since 1998 with 100% positive feedback. I tend to grade paperbacks in the manner of current pulp grading: Poor/Fair/Good/Very Good/Fine/Very Fine I'm a high grade collector so my books are almost all Very Good and better if they're available in those grades. Many pre-1960 books just aren't available in high grade often so I try to find solid Good-Very Good ones if I can. The rules for this thread are: -No HoS or Probation list buyers -I will ship to Canada but will have to quote shipping options. -Payment via Venmo or Paypal preferred. I also can do Zelle although it is a bit more of a pain to do. -Shipping via USPS Media Mail for $4 or Priority Small Box for $11 for the continental United States. More than one book I will ship at the least extra cost practicable. Shipping for Canada will be quoted. -First in the thread wins and prevails over pm offers -Returns accepted for 14 days after delivery but please let me know asap if you are unhappy for any reason and I will make it right. I do miss things occasionally. Feel free to pm with offer or questions. I'm always open to reasonable package offers.
  15. 100% by Paul Stahr. The skull on "A Homicide For Hannah" is a dead giveaway
  16. Happy Independence Day! Had to check on a few things here today between festivities so posting a couple of the great August 1942 Flag covers that publishers flooded the stands with for July 1942 to boost American morale after Pearl Harbor.
  17. I can't get enough either, so here are both, the 1st and 2nd, left to right. The first is always identifiable by the "Sparse text Shakespeare" on the back cover. It also has a HRN of 40. The 2nd has the "Dense text Shakespeare" on the back cover and a HRN of 58. I believe there's a 3rd with "Dense text Shakespeare" and a HRN around 80 but would have to search my old posts. I think I had a 3rd that I let go when I got this 2nd. The 2nd has a color flecking on the spine but no creasing at all on the front cover, which is extraordinary for this book.
  18. Price drop bump. I'd really rather sell these patriotic beauties to a boardie on 4th of July Weekend than to a stranger on the 'bay
  19. Your scanner doesn't do it justice. That's a very nice copy too. Your recent post of it re-invigorated me to hunt down a nice 1st. I have an amazing copy of the 2nd but my Avon OCD wouldn't let it rest
  20. Also in today, an amazing copy of Day Keene's "Moran's Woman." Zenith Books ZB-24, a PBO with the infamous Bettie Page modeled cover art. It's rare in any condition but I was floored unboxing this one.
  21. I guess it's an Avon kind of day. I finally located a nice copy of the 1st print of The Big Sleep nn#38. It took a lot of searching and an open-minded wallet but she's one of the prettiest copies I've seen. Skull cover art by Paul Stahr.
  22. Pretty psyched the USPS has been doing Sunday deliveries around here lately so I can do some Sunday fun pics as well This is a real nice double stack came in today. A couple will go behind the glass and a couple will be undercopies i'll probably offer next sale.
  23. Excellent. I just picked up a copy of "Takeoff" that I need to compare with my current copy to see which one goes for sale, and that Frazetta cover copy of Phoenix Prime looks pretty white too
  24. Just scrolling back through this thread and remembered I wanted to respond to this. I have the original advertising poster for this book hanging in our hallway.Don't know how I talked the missus into that, but there she is NFS
