  1. Horror -7 by Robert Bloch Belmont L90-275 1st Printing February 1963 $18 SOLD to mstrange Rare Robert Maguire horror cover. He didn't do much of this stuff. Another tough black cover collection of Weird Tales author short stories. Near Fine. Solid, square spine, minimal creasing and edgewear. I'd grade it Fine plus but it has a name and address and a large number written inside the covers and check marks on the stories, but these have nothing to do with the cover art or stories in the end. Another very attractive cover for a 60 year old black cardboard cover book.
  2. More Nightmares, Weird Tales by Robert Bloch Belmont L92-530 1st Printing February 1962 $22 SOLD to mstrange Tough black cover collection of Weird Tales author short stories. Great cover art. Fine Plus. Solid, square spine, minimal creasing and edgewear. Very attractive for a 60 year old black cardboard cover.
  3. Atoms and Evil by Robert Bloch Gold Medal Books S1231 August 1962 $15 SOLD to mstrange 1st Edition 1st Print of this collection of Weird Tales author short stories. A pretty copy of a 1st Edition that usually has folds and creases. Fine Plus. Solid, square spine, minimal creasing and edgewear. Nice pages.
  4. Konga by Dean Owen Monarch Books MM604 Classic Movie Tie In $25 $15 EDIT, I just noticed there is a light marker "15 c" at the Gorilla's face that I didn't even notice when I bought it. Offering it at a loss now - still a nice looking copy! Iconic Giant Gorilla cover by Raymond Johnson. The original art to this one survives and is awesome. One of the classic Monarch Movie series featuring Konga, Gorgo, Reptilicus etc. These are usually trashed. Very Good/Very Good Plus. Looks much nicer. Solid spine has wear on the edges, mostly the front edge. Covers have a fair amount of light creasing, mostly not breaking color on that tough black background. A very collectible copy of a book most often encountered at much higher prices in decent shape.
  5. Back To The Stone Age by Edgar Rice Burroughs Ace 04636-3 August 1978 $15 SOLD to goldust40 Classic Man vs. Mammoth Frank Frazetta cover art. Later "Tall" Ace printing. My last nice extra copy of this title (for now!) Very Fine. Square and glossy. Has only light corner wear, tiny edgewear and very light toning. A very sweet copy.
  6. Tarzan at the Earth's Core by Edgar Rice Burroughs Ace G-736 Second Ace small edition. 1968 $15 SOLD to Norrin's Lawyer Action packed Frazetta Tarzan cover. Fine Plus. Glossy. No writing inside or out on this one. Spine is square and covers smooth with only a light finger bend upper right front. Cover colors strong. Pages and interior cover have heavier toning. A nice looking copy.
  7. Land of Terror by Edgar Rice Burroughs Ace G-738 Second Ace small edition. 1968 $12 SOLD to mstrange Awesome Frazetta prehistoric flood cover. Fine. Glossy. No writing inside or out on this one. Spine is square and covers smooth with only a hairline spine crease and couple of light finger bends. Pages and interior cover have heavier toning. A nice looking copy.
  8. The White Bikini by Carter Brown Signet S2275 1st print. March 1963 $15 SOLD to goldust40 I'm partial to covers with guitars on them, oh, and with semi-nude blondes as well. Cover art by Robert McGinnis. From the Rick Holman detective series. Just a gorgeous GGA cover. Fine Plus/Very Fine minus. Spine is square and pretty. Very little wear over all, mostly edgewear and some small bindery tears at upper edge. Nice page quality. Has a small name and address in pen on first page.
  9. Lament For A Lousy Lover by Carter Brown Signet D3162 Third print. 1967 $12 Great title. Leggy semi-nude cover art by Robert McGinnis. From the Al Wheeler detective series. I don't pretend to know every edition of the Carter Brown series but many later printings of the same titles had different covers. Barye Phillips did the earliest ones in the late 1950's, McGinnis did most of the early 60's and then Ron Lesser did a bunch in the late 60's as well. Fine Plus. Spine is solid with very sight slant. Very little wear over all, mostly edgewear. Nice page quality, has some light names written in pencil on front page. Of course, this is bought for the cover!
  10. Murder at Midnight by R.A.J. Walling Avon no number #16 1942 $45 SOLD to TupennyConan Beautiful cover of a dead man in a Chippendale chair. First print of this very scarce early Avon no number title with 16 titles listed on the back cover and blank end papers. I believe #13-16 exist with both blank and globe endpapers as Avon was using whatever they had around after war was declared, but the first print identifier for that group is the 16 titles as they were released in groups of 4 after the first 12 titles were released. Hard to find in any condition but quite rare with a smooth cover like this. Fine Plus. Great colors. Spine is square and tight with minimal wear. Covers are smooth with light wear, one tiny dig to front cover in the "n" of Midnight, that affects a few interior pages but overall an incredible front cover. If you know, you know. You're not likely to find a better copy.
  11. The Moon Pool by Abraham Merritt Avon 370 1951 $30 Classic Merritt fantasy with an amazing GGA/Alien cover. Another probably by Raymond Johnson but we did not include it on the checklist for various reasons. Johnson's "Metal Monster" image is on the back cover. Fine/Fine Plus. Super glossy, square and tight. Great colors and gloss. Very light wear overall, one lower corner crease and a small paper loss in the blurb keeps it from very high grades.
  12. Finger Man by Raymond Chandler Avon 219 1949 $25 SOLD to Norrin's Lawyer One of the most famous and reproduced Avon nipple covers. Probably by Raymond Johnson but we were not sure enough to put it on the checklist. Classic hard boiled Chandler story collection. Near Fine. Great colors and page quality, Spine is tight with slight slant. Colors are bold, covers are smooth with light wear, mostly to the spine and corners. Tiny stamped "P" on title page. An excellent copy of a classic cover.
  13. Okay, going to swing back into action with a few more Avons... The Amboy Dukes by Irving Shulman Avon 169 1948 $20 SOLD at 20% off to PopKulture Gorgeous blue GGA cover. Another one credited in the copyright office to Ann Cantor but likely a hired hand. Wayward Brooklyn youth rolling around in the grass under the night sky with the Brooklyn Bridge in the background. A classic image. Fine. Great colors and page quality, Spine and covers are smooth with light wear. Some very light spotting on back cover but overall an excellent copy. A classic JD novel.
  14. The Land Of Hidden Men by Edgar Rice Burroughs Ace 47012 1st Frazetta Ace edition. January 1973 $20 SOLD to mstrange Frazetta Black Panther cover. Just a killer cover. Very Fine minus/Very Fine. Glossy and new looking. Great colors. Hints of wear at the top corner front and a light dust shadow on back top. Usual interior cover and page toning. A premium copy.
  15. Zanthar at Trip's End by Robert Moore Williams Lancer Books 73-836 1969 $20 SOLD to Tupenny Conan Brooding Jeff Jones cover with dark coloring. A very tough publisher to collect in high grade. Very Fine Minus. Glossy and new looking. No spine or reader creasing. Spine is killer. Light edgewear to bottom front cover. Light interior cover and page toning. A very pretty copy.
  16. The Hong Kong Caper by Carter Brown Signet D3151 Second print. Undated but from 1967 $8 SOLD to crassus Willowy blonde Good Girl cover art by Robert McGinnis. From the Andy Kane detective series. Near Fine. Spine is solid with slight slant. Covers are glossy and bright. Has reader crease and a few bends and surface imperfections that don't break color. Tiny paper dig in the logo and small "62" in pen on back. Nice page quality. Another great image.
  17. Angel by Carter Brown Signet S2094 First print. March 1962 $12 Gorgeous nude Good Girl "back shot" cover art by Robert McGinnis. From the Al Wheeler detective series. Very Good Plus. Spine is solid but has slant and wear. Has reader crease and various bends and surface imperfections that don't break color. Whites are still bright. I graded down to the VG levels because it has several diagonal bends on the front cover that don't break the color. Not obtrusive to the image but there Nice page quality. Just a great image.
  18. The Sad Eyed Seductress by Carter Brown Signet S2023 First print. November 1961 $15 SOLD to mstrange Phenomenal "landscape-oriented" Good Girl with a cigarette cover art by Robert McGinnis, one of dozens he did for the Carter Brown series, where he really made his name as one of the greatest GGA artists of the 1960's - 70's (through today!) These are a bear to collect because there are so many variants and they are thin little Signets that get beat up so easily. Well worth the hunting though as there are many incredible nude and semi-nude covers. I've taken to buying any copies that don't have hard diagonal creases on the front (my pet peeve on GGA books) Near Fine. Square and solid with various bends, light creases and surface imperfections that don't break color except on the lower back cover. Nice page quality. The awesome front cover image is glossy and, well, seductive.
  19. Thanks for the takes fellas, that has to be it for this morning, I have work to get to. I am going to be away most of the evening but if I have energy when I get back I'll try to list some more. Otherwise it will be tomorrow.
  20. Tarzan and the Lion Man by Edgar Rice Burroughs Ace F-212 1st print of the 1st US PB and the only Ace/Frazetta edition. July 1963 $18 SOLD to goldust40 Awesome Frazetta Gorilla fight cover. Near Fine/Fine. Glossy. No writing inside or out on this one. Spine is square and covers smooth with only a couple of light finger bends. Pages and interior cover have heavier toning. A nice copy of a 60 year old vintage pb 1st and only Ace edition.
