  1. Hey, be careful where you post that. You almost poked my eyes out with those razor-sharp bottom corners.
  2. Surfer, we've talked about this slab-chewing problem of yours. Just stop it! Very cool book, BTW.
  3. There's a thread in the Silver Age forum right now about the PC copy of Strange Tales #107, and the classic Subby/Torch cover on that book. The #107 looks pathetically boring compared to your Human Torch #8. This might be my favorite Timely cover. I just love the composition. For a first Timely purchase, I can't imagine you could have done any better.
  4. I actually like spam. The hickory flavor is especially pleasing to the pallet.
  5. Beautiful copy. Very clean and bright.
  6. You might have some competition. I'm keeping a close eye on the #71 & #91, as well as the Batman #37 & #55.
  7. Thanks, guys. Now I need an Action #44 to go with my #43 & #45!
  8. Where did you get that beauty? Got it off eBay. He had the Action #38 Rockford as well, but I got outbid on that one. The #45 is the highest graded copy!
  9. Zonker, you've got a lot of great stuff!
  10. Heck, what are the grades on all of them?
  11. One of my favorite covers of all time. You going to have the tape removed?
  12. Correct. And the other thing that makes them different is that they're the only covers in the group not done by Schomburg.
  13. True, but I was actually thinking of two other differences. Anyone else?
  14. Okay, two of these books are different from the others for two reasons. Any ideas, comic detectives?
  15. I just posted them so The Dude could see what a nice home his Action #44 will be going to when he finally decides to sell it to me!
  16. Here's a few. I just realized, 28 books and only 1 new label!
  17. I finally picked up one of Harry's books! Beautiful book for an 8.0, with vibrant color...
  18. It was actually a trade. Dave had very high grade non-pedigree copies of #33 & #46, so I got those, along with the Church copy of #55, plus NM copies of Batman #53 & #55, Church copies of a few Captain Midnights, and some other stuff. Of course, I ended up selling the non-pedigree Action #33 & #46 later on, along with 28, 30, 32, 34, & 47. Also owned the Church copies of Action #86 & #87 for a while(bought them from Ernie Gerber), but sold or traded them both.
  19. Somewhere between 15 & 20 years ago. The whole story is that he had the Action #23 NM and a Detective #66 NM. I took the day to decide which one to buy, but when I'd called back, they were both sold. Around the same time, I bought the Action #33 Church copy for $1140, and #46 for $960. Both books are long gone now(to a certain dentist). Those were the days, my friend...
  20. I've told this story before, but years ago, I called Steve at Metro one day and asked what new Actions he had. "Just got in a NM #23," he said. He wanted a grand for it. I took 24 to think about it, called back, but the book had sold.
