  1. Well, there's Downtown Disney. If you're not familiar with it, it's a dining and shopping area on the Disneyland grounds, but there's no admission fee. Other than that, there's really not anything interesting within walking distance. It's a very fun show, though. Lots of good dealers and panels without the utter chaos of SDCC.
  2. I think Tecs from this time period are undervalued. This book was on the stands with Batman #6.
  3. Love this title. Currently, I only own one book in this range, though.
  4. Well, he uses his heat vision and a mirror to shave. Maybe he cuts his own hair the same way?
  5. It would be awesome if they could get permission to have him play Picard in an episode. The time periods are off, I think The Orville takes place in the 25th century, but they could work around that.
  6. I liked it, but didn't love it. I still need to watch the extended cut, though.
  7. That's the benefit of having Seth McFarlane involved. How else do you get Charleze Theron and Liam Neeson?
  8. I'm really surprised that AMC agreed to hour-long episodes. This material is so geared towards us, comics fans, but does the general viewing public really have enough interest to hold them for an hour each week?
  9. Funny episode this week. Rob Lowe was a good choice for the blue-skinned alien.
  10. I'm just going to go eat a tub of popcorn bigger than my head and geek out.
  11. Early-bird hotel reservations just opened. I've done this the last few years, and it's so much less stressful than the regular hotel panic. The hotels are 5-6 miles from the convention center, but are all on the shuttle route.
  12. Very pleased with the renewal. I look forward to the show every week.
  13. No, I don't suspect that anyone swiped my idea. Just the same idea occurring to two different writers, years apart, and one of them apparently executing it better. Berg isn't connected to the TV division in any way, and Komarnicki has been very busy with his own projects. He wrote Sully, The Madman & the Professor, and is exec producing a new TV series. I messaged Komarnicki about the sale to CW last week, and we commiserated about the significant similarities.
  14. No, I ran into a common problem when developing a -script with a producing team, they wanted different things from the -script. I would write a draft that pleased one of them, get notes, then write a draft that pleased the other. In the end, I wrote a draft that pleased me. Todd loved it, Jon didn't, so we called it a day. Interestingly, a strikingly similar idea just sold to the CW last week as a TV series entitled "The End Of the World As We Know It".
  15. Exactly right. I know Berg. I developed a -script with him and Todd Komarnicki after their success with Elf. A few years later, Jon took a VP position at Warner Brothers. He's a smart guy, and can fill in any gaps in John's understanding.
  16. I live about 70 miles away from Sideshow, so yeah, I get things fast!
  17. Here's my review of the Green Jean Grey Phoenix...
