Thanks Brian. I saw those. I'm more interested in the production cels. I've found that animation cels are great ways to clutter up the walls of my daughters' bedrooms without my wife getting too upset with me :)

One of the crowning achievements of my life was to hold the Snake Eyes V2 painting in my hands and be able to pretty much stick my nose in it and see every little brush stroke. An absolutely amazing work. Hasbro doesn't have that :nyah:

oh, WOW!. Now that's one I'd like to see up close.

When MOKF launched from Marvel on the back of the Kung Fu craze, it was definitely one of the jewels in the Marvel lineup.  Stellar art and story.  Congrats Mike!  Was a pleasure meeting you and I look forward to seeing the fruits of our little collaboration!

Likewise, Scott. I'll make sure you to give you the heads up when the video is posted so you can share it. I think the folks on the board will enjoy seeing you work your magic on-camera!

  4. good morning!

Happy to share my latest pickup, the cover to Master of Kung-Fu #60 by Ernie Chan! Been looking for a nice cover from this series for awhile, and I love this one. Extra special thanks to Saul Zimmerman for being patient with me as I paid this off, and who then delivered it to me in person at SDCC!

(not the best scan, I know)

All I know is i wish I had the money to go after that Garcia Lopez style guide page.  The whole Justice League, pretty epic stuff.

Me too. But I don't feel that bad that I'm tapped out because I would be outbid by Mark Millar. He was drooling over it on twitter and I'm pretty sure he wanted to take it down.

  6. Good morning and Happy Independence Day!

I'm selling the original cover art to the 1989 British Marvel Super Heroes Annual featuring Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends. It's a reprint of the first comic appearance featuring the awesome trio of Spider-Man, Firestar and Iceman. The cover art was done by Martin Griffiths, who confirmed to me this was a fully painted cover.

It's a great piece that hopefully will help me stockpile some $$ for SDCC! Here's the link to the auction on eBay:

  7. Hi folks,

Been so busy the past couple weeks, I forgot to share this latest video featuring George Perez sketching Wonder Woman. I had the chance to sit down with him to take a deep dive into his career, which was a real treat for me. Here's the video of him penciling & inking a gorgeous full-figure WW, which we auctioned off to benefit the Hero Initiative. Hope you like it...

Very nice! I also watched a Peter David video. I wish these were a bit longer. I was just settling in and they are done. Good stuff!

I agree with you, but we have to take social media into account, and shorter videos tend to grab more traffic. I promise there's much more to the Romita intv - MUCH more. We'll be posting other clips as Spider-Man: Homecoming movie approaches. I'll be sure to share those here.

    Thanks for viewing them.

  9. something else to note before chocking up the two Jim Lee auction results as due to the rise of the JLPC is that the Wizard cover isn't 'fresh to market.' It's changed hands at least once in the past couple years.

I just realized ... I've been outbid on every single Jim Lee/Scott Williams piece I've ever gone after, yet own 3 All JL pieces. Does that make me a founding member of the JLPC??? :)

P.S. this is my favorite of those ...

  10. John romita Sr. Interview

I sat down to talk with John Romita Sr. recently for SYFYWire about the Art of Spider-Man exhibit and his great career (OA was mentioned so its not OT ). Here's the first part of our conversation:

I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed talking with him. I've been fortunate to do more than a few interviews with the greats of the comic book industry.

Special thanks to Mike Burkey, who helped me set this up.
