  1. I think they will hammer it for the stains. I'd guess around a 6.0.
  2. Great book! Looks 6+ but back cover tear and faint CB diagonal FC crease may keep it in the 5.0 to 5.5 range.
  3. I thought it should be easy enough to find, so I just looked thru a box of SA Supermans... backwards. Trouble is, I had to lift all those dumb backer boards!! This would be an easier task in the 70's before we had annoying bags and boards. I looked at over a hundred books from late 10c cover price to the beginning of the 20c books and couldn't find a single example of the Romans. Revolutionary. Sure. Civil War. Yep. Battleships. Model kits. Matchbox. American Seed Co. But no Romans. I think it's an early ad and I know I've seen it recently. I'll keep an eye out.
  4. Man, they are both monstrously cool books. The colors on Avengers 1 make my head spin. So beautiful. The font is awesome too - love that early logo and the blurbs with the charter members at the top seem perfectly placed. You can't miss with either. I agree with the earlier comments that the Avengers edges out the All-Winners in today's market, but I still recall the thrill of reading the reprint in Fantasy Masterpieces 10. What a revelation it was to me as a kid that there was a Timely superhero team in the 40's! Who knew?
  5. Back in the day, All-Star 3 was a mega-grail, and while I think it has perhaps taken a back seat to some emergent books like Detective 31 and Action 7, it still gives me goosebumps!!
  6. For an 8 foot table, you sure know how to take advantage vertically for maximum impact. Great stuff all around.
  7. Your Man Cave suffers from a similar problem as my Collectibles Annex: too much good stuff to sort and curate at any given time!
  8. War Comics 9: Fair/good; a well-loved book with all the requisite wear and scuffing; 1" and 1/2' tear right edge. $10 for an early Atlas war book.
  9. Battle 27: Fair; general abuse and water stains upper right covers and pages; some waviness due to moisture, spine split halfway but somehow managing to hold on at the staples. Cool Sinnott story with Churchill appearance! $10
  10. Navy Tales 2: Fair/good. Tape on spine; creasing and 1-1/4 tear lower right FC; decent pages. Cool Maneely cover! $15
  11. War Comics 12: Fair/Good; piece out right edge; spine split tears lower left, still hanging on. Great bayonet cover!! $20
  12. Marines In Battle 13: G/vg; chipping to right edge; general wear and creasing. Cool machine gun cover! $20
  13. Take the remaining six books for $60!! First in thread wins. Paypal preferred - checks or money orders okay. Returns in 10 days - just let me know. $5 first class shipping - US only. Most of these are lower grade readers with a few decent copies as well. Message me with any questions and thanks for looking! Navy Action 17: VG-; off-register printing on the blue ink and some yellow; upper right ncb crease cover and first few pages. Sold
  14. I'm sorry to see it end, but it was wrapped up fairly cleverly. There were some episodes where the production value was the best I've ever seen in television - a wonderful tapestry of visuals, mood, music, emotion, etc. Bravo!!
