  1. One of my favorite Avon one-shots. I can recall this making the color section of one of the first dozen OPG's. Great looking book!
  2. Really cool to see those displayed so respectfully... as the amazing artifacts they are!
  3. Good question! But settle he did and it perfectly suits his free-wheelin' (not Franklin) way, especially when he's in a mood to crack wise. You know how they say people eventually look like their dog and vice versa? Robot Man is somehow well represented by a Japanese toy.
  4. I'm totally stoked you've resurrected your very own "junk" thread. I for one will never tire of looking at your amazing collection. Rock on, Robot Man!
  5. A few pulp digests for today: Number 2, June 1953. Cover by Hannes Bok.
  6. Interesting tool: I never used it until tonight. Last one tonight - 6 copies, first appearance of Nightmare:
  7. So so so so so so so classic it hurts! It's not just hyperbole: the whole book is an under-rated classic (to the extent there IS such a thing), and the top 1/3 of the book is the best of all time!! That's right. The BEST of all time! Logo. Colors. Genre. Tagline. Photo inset. Right down to the last detail, like the tremble of the gun as it blasts the rats.
  8. Such strange characters on these, but nice and "punchy":
  9. Tyler was a beast!! He was throwing people around easier than Hulk Hogan in that Captain Marvel serial. And he didn't even need a puffy, sculpted rubber suit!
  10. Yes, it was a Target cover. I was going to scan one the other day. I'll dig it back up (unless someone beats me to it).
  11. I remember as a kid seeing the term "esoteric comics" more and more in the early Overstreets and not even knowing what "esoteric" meant. THIS... is an esoteric comic!! What a piece of obscure pop culture Americana: everything from the logo and lettering to the fusion of the romance and western genres, and of course that killer Cole linework and poster-ific coloring. And what a nice sharp copy too. Bravo.
  12. I have a 14 as well. I think it's hilarious enough, but alas it's not an 8.
  13. I doubt this will unseat Suspense 3 anytime soon, but I've long admired this one:
