I'll be listing some new books over the weekend with a few oddities thrown in for good measure. First "take" in thread trumps any PM negotiations. Payment: PayPal, checks, or money orders accepted. Shipping: US only. Comics start at $4 for first class mail with cardboard, and $1 each additional comic up to the weight limit. Anything over the first-class weight limit will ship either priority flat rate envelope (usually up to three books unless they're ALL Dell giants) or priority box. Larger items will require more postage. Return Policy: Returns accepted within 14 days of receipt. Please contact me if there is a problem. Please no H.O.S. or probies. All manner of eccentrics welcome otherwise!

CATRICK'S QUARNUCOPIA IS CLOSED
PopKulture replied to catrick339's topic in Golden/Silver/Bronze Age Only
Yeah, I once had a similarly fussy postal employee tell me to put a shipping peanut in my envelopes to GET THEM to qualify for the first-class package since the envelopes were fitting through the aforementioned slot. So arbitrary at times... -
Who Got This Weird Mysteries 5?
PopKulture replied to comicginger1789's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
Ha! I saw that lot as well and saw the number of watchers and essentially gave up, rightly figuring the bidding at the end would be insane. There were a couple other decent books in there, like a Strange Fantasy and a Tomb of Terror. I bet the seller who listed them thinks they just won a small lottery! p.s. She lucked out she didn't put up what she would've thought a ridiculous buy-it-now of $100 or something!! -

I love the affordable oddball stuff like this! I already have those Captain Marvels; otherwise, I'd be all over them. The Thrill-O-Rama was an upgrade on a beater I've owned for maybe forty years. I figure at these prices, it's about time! As far as Gold Key painted covers, M.A.R.S. Patrol is one of my more under-represented runs, so again, no-brainer!

Comics, Pulps, and Paperbacks: Why such a discrepancy in values?
PopKulture replied to Reno McCoy's topic in Pulp Magazines
I've looked at books on the Bay which I need more to fill gaps rather than keys, but the sellers are asking ten to twenty dollars or more for clean copies. I might break down on one or two early Dells or Avons at that price point, but not non-key run fodder. -

All it takes to stop the feeding frenzy are some Marvel Two-In-Ones?? (oh, some takes as I was typing that! There IS love for the Thing!) -

The Dell 10-centers I've encountered the most (outside of eBay) are: the first two, Trumpets West and Rain, then Lamp of God and South of Cancer. Door to Death is pretty easy as well. Some of the others, I've never seen outside of a dedicated show for pulps and paperbacks. Which early Dell F-series have you targeted, if any? Madball is a no-brainer for me, and I also like the cover art to Down, Bold Rider, Fever Heat, Crooked City... and probably many others I'm not recalling at this point. Of the higher numbers, Invasion of the Body Snatchers is definitely a classic. -
What Are Your Three Favorite Timelys?
PopKulture replied to PopKulture's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
This is truly a classic cover!! I love overall composition, especially how the artwork is heavy at the bottom and lighter at the top, adding to the sense that Cap is soaring above the fray. That, and the fact that the artwork really intrudes mightily into the logo box at the top. -
What are your 492 favorite Timelys? Post 'em!
