  1. This is an interrsting and informative thread. Thanks to ft88 for starting it.
  2. Frisco, Welcome to the club (if you were not already a member). Of course you could have posted your coverless copy over here and that would have got you a ticket into the club, but this one is much nicer. I am very happy you were able to pick this up
  3. not sure too many would concur there is a best. There are many great. Phantom lady 17 always is near the top of gg lists. Amen. First time I ever saw a PL17 in real life, I knew I had to have it. I bought it immediately, without hesitation. That is the mark of a great cover. IMO.
  4. I like Action 15, but not enough to put it on the list twice. How about giving some love to AC2? My favorite.
  5. Amazing collection Rich. I bet they look even better in person. wow, amazing collection Thank You! I have been blessed with some nice books.
  6. Nice book. I may be in the minority here, however, I prefer the cover of AC15 over the AC13. Great looking 15. Congrats.
  7. I could not find a Gator Kudos thread, although Rick is so well known and well respected, it is unlikely he needs one. Anyway, I had the honor and privilege to meet Rick for the first time today at the Baltimore Comic Convention. He is honest and friendly. In truth, I probably took up too much of his time. I bought my first book of the day at New Force and after I agreed to buy the book, Rick lowered the price. You can't ask for a more honest person than Rick. If someone has a link to a kudos thread for Gator, I would be happy to post over there. If not, then please accept this as my kudos to Rick.
  8. It's hard to pick just one, but I'd say "Genesis of the Daleks" is my favorite, and probably "Day of the Doctor" for new Doctor Who. Granted there are MANY episodes I've yet to see, so I've got lots more episodes to eventually watch. Favorite episode of the Original Series would probably be "Face of Evil". Then again I am a huge Louise Jameson (Leela) fan. I even flew to England to see her at a Doctor Who convention several years ago. Of the new series, "Blink" is probably #1 with "Girl in the Fireplace" a close second.
  9. This is the kind of stuff that the show Hoarders is made of If this is considered "hoarding" then I guess I better not post any group shots (of say specific Action Comics) that I like more than others. You guys would have the people from the hoarders show over my house quick as the flash. . Great shot BH. Tech 187 has a great cover. I can see why you have such an admiration for it. Nice job putting together that group shot!
  10. Rick, Is that Jimbo's old copy that he sold off in March? What an awesome book! Yes, it is, sir. I made a deal to sell it but have some regrets Honestly, I think I regret selling almost every book I have sold I regret NOT pulling the trigger on that one the night I saw Jimbo had it for sale. I remember it very well. It was the same night I found out about the AC1 in 0.5 and as much as I wanted Jimbo's Wonder 15, I knew I already had a copy and needed to keep every $ I had available to try and snag the grail. Unfortunately, I ended up coming up dry on the AC1 and in the meanwhile, lost out on a really nice Wonder 15. Bad couple of days all the way around. Oh well, I am glad that you got to enjoy it for awhile and my guess is that you are sending it off to a good home.

  12. Sorry, my photography skills are poor at best (thus some of these are blurry, etc). If I have time later, maybe I will dig up some others (Starling, Wonder, etc). XELA was awesome!
  13. Thanks Keith. I appreciate the kind words. Maybe some day I will learn how to use a camera.
  14. Ryan, Thanks again for starting this cool thread. I know my sig line bought me a ticket to the club, but I thought I would dig up these other books in hopes of getting a "full membership". Hope you all enjoy these and will forgive my horrible photography skills. I just took this with my phone, and so there appears to be some shadowing (especially on the top row of books in the title section) that is not on the actual books, but for the most part, the photo is an accurate depiction. Special thanks also to board member Gotham Kid who showed me how to even post photographs on the board. Thanks Peter.
  15. Thanks Rich. If you think that it's cool that years ago, I was proud to own a non-Superman page from Action #1, you'll get a kick out of how excited I was to own 1 panel from an original Superman #1 in 2009. This was before slabbed pages from big-time books were readily available. At the time, it was very tough to acquire "a part" of a book like Superman #1. Ryan, When you said this was on page 5 / 6, I had a difficult time finding it. I looked on my page 5 and page 6 and did not find it. Then I figured out that when you said 5/6, you were talking about page 3 (both sides). Stupid me. Anyway, I was hoping to photograph the whole page, but unfortunately I cannot. I have the 2 and 4, but my page 3 is missing. Still a great panel. Love how Superman is so "black and white" in his response. Nice piece. Thanks for sharing. I'm pretty sure I need that panel to fill in mine that has a chunk out of it. Back side of this page. Very cool, but that is NOT the panel you need. That is panel 6 out of 8 on the page and you need panel 7. Ryan's panel would fit on the the middle right side of the page, and you need the one that fits on the bottom left (as you are looking at the back of page 3 from where this came).

  17. I got your back Rich. Thanks Keith. One day I should learn how to use a computer.... Hit "Quote" in the post you want to reply to. In the band of icons above the text box is a smiley face emoticon. Click on it and there will be a popup with available emoticons. Hey it works! Thanks again, Keith.
  18. Probably why I could not find your inventory online

  20. Yes. That was us. Last year we Had action 2,3,7,8,10,13,15 etc. always stock supes 14/17 etc My mistake, there very well could have been 4 single digit Actions (and obviously others 10 and above too numerous to mention).. I remember going home and telling my wife about a booth with so many Superman 14s. I was in awe. She probably didn't care, but listened anyway (). If I knew how to post those clapping hands and such that people post on here, I would do so now. Your booth was beyond compare. Hats off to you. Now I regret not stopping by. I just figured I would look you up on line after the show, but I recall having some trouble with that for some reason (probably my poor computer skills). You see I rarely buy too many books at shows anymore, due to the fact that so many of the dealers (not saying you) jack up their prices at the show in order to have room to negotiate. I hate negotiating. I will go to a show, see what I like, and then often contact the seller after the show to see if they still have the book and what the price is. If the price is acceptable, I buy the book. Last year I left the Baltimore convention with only one book in hand, however, I know I purchased at least 3 or 4 more after I got home and contacted the respective owner(s). Regrettably. this strategy did cost me one book that I wanted and that was sold before contact was made.
