Hello folks, I don't know if you are familiar with this European masterpiece (there is a movie out there too), but the first 44 pages have been actioned online at Sotheby's more or less two weeks ago; unfortunately I haven't been able to get any of these pages, but I still feel the urge to add one of them to my collection. Do you know the GN? Have you followed the auction? Have you, by any chance, purchased more than one page and need to raise some money in order to fund a new acquisition? Drop me a line! I am interested either in buying or trading! Luca

Hello folks, I have been lazy enough not to update my CAF gallery for some months. One nice Mignola HB cover is gone, but I just got a BPRD cover by Mike himself (featuring the whole cast), a wonderful Hellboy page by Corben and a sexy pin up by Gennadiy Koufay (I would love to have more infos about him). As usual I wrote some rants on CAF, in case you wanna loose a couple of minutes. https://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryDetail.asp?GCat=47928 Ciao Luca

I am am avid sandman collector and death is my favourite character; personally I have never seen a page from issue 8 for sale. Maybe it's just me, but I know every bits of the issue and I remember fondly that page and how shocked I was when Franklin was killed. I live in Italy, so I don't have any love for NY. Having said that, I'd kill for that page. Dream and Death, first issue of the big sister, dringenberg, signed by Neil. The cornerstone of the whole series, when everything changed and sandman became sandman. Ps: the most famous page from the entire issue is the one where the brothers feed the pigeons. Boring, talking heads and not even the first first appearance. I just wonder how much it would fetch if auctioned.

This would be a dream come true. A great page from sandman #8, first appearance of the older sister. At first I thought it would sell for 50+, now I think we can be close to 100 (considering the first appearance of Lucifer on comicconnect is priced as 90 BIN). I wish I had the money. Spoiler alert: Franklin dies the page after.

Good morning people, I have noticed there is a V for Vendetta page on HA that I might be interested into, but the description is very cryptic to an Italian mother tongue. 1) the page is "matted out". Does it mean it's glued to the matte, or that the light exposure yellowed the part exposed to the sun (which means the page is yellow and then, the part underneath the matte, is white)? 2) "collage elements" means photocopies? From my point of view, the answer is positive. It seems the nazis, the atomic explosion (with V standing) are not original art. What about the V in the last panel? Anyway I still dig the page but don't have enough funds right now to purchase it straigh away, so I am considerin trading some Sandman art (not the Kelley Jones) or Mignola in order to get the V page. If someone wants to discuss a possible deal, drop me a line. Here is my CAF https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerydetail.asp?gcat=47928 Ciao Luca

Being Italian, I need to correct you: the last name is Castellini and not Castelloni. Ciao, Luca -
Hello folks, I am delighted to show you my new Mignola cover - I would like to thank the seller for being so patient with me, giving me time to raise the funds. Mike Mignola - Hellboy and the B.P.R.D.: Her Fatal Hour and the Sending (Variant Cover) Comments are more than welcome and, for those who are lazy, please find attached the image! Have a nice day! Me too. Had one experience with heritage too, which ended up positively, but it took me a lot of effort to get what I wanted (the page shipped to another address of mine in the US and not here in Italy) and have them cancel the delay fee because I didn't pay on time while I was waiting for them to help me through shipping.

I see your point. I remember reading someone complaining about other (more serious) things, not only the bad interface or the lack of interesting items (this is based on personal tastes).

hello folks, I am more than happy to show you here my new acquisition. I am a hardcore Vertigo (and Bachalo and Shade) fan, so this piece is very important for me. I had the impression that, considering the explosion of prices, the beauty of the art and the presence of Constantine, this piece would have reached twice or three times the price paid by me. I read somewhere in other posts that some of you don't love comicconnect; my first (and only, for no) experience with them has been more than positive and I would like publicly to thank Micah for having helped me through the whole payment/shipping process. For those of you extremely lazy, I am attaching both the CAF link and an image of the piece. Comments are more than welcome. Bachalo - Shade 42 Half Splash

May Heritage Auction starting to look pretty interesting
pestonaccio replied to batman_fan's topic in Original Comic Art
Not many sandman pages sell on auction, true. I remember one by dringenberg sold on Hakes a year ago and one by hempel on clink some months ago. A zulli splash (unsold) on eBay. Privately things are easier. An important Spanish collector just sold two prime Kelley Jones pages from season of mists with "a lot of dream" in the last weeks. I have had for sale some pages in the last year and not all them were sold. Abert Is selling pages from issue one without dream for 9/10K. The 25k page has a drawing of dream wearing the mask. 31k for that page still sounds crazy. -

Can someone please explain me why the opening title page from season of mists, featuring the super cool destiny's back, sold for 31k? I know it's the best and most craved for sandman storyline, but it's a "dull" page! -

WTB/WTT (early) Death by Bachalo or Dringenberg

Oh well, patience is a vir(t)ue. Sadly I missed the preliminary shirt design sold on clink for 5k in 2020. If somebody knows who the owner is, please.get in touch. -
Hello folks, In order to make a present to my 11 y/o daughter, I would love to buy a nice image of death by her most representative artist: Chris(tofer) Bachalo (I love dringenberg's interpretation, but I fear it's too dark for a young lady - anyway I am open to it). Is there anybody who wants to sell/trade? Can be an image for a t shirt, pin, mug, poster, postcard ecc. Caf: https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerydetail.asp?gcat=47928 Luca
