  1. If my memory serves me, Joseph, those should be the worst pages of your incredible sandman collection!
  2. Sandman pages for sale? Oh yeah, I need to buy that house in Capri that my wife loves...
  3. Hello folks, I am actively on the lookout for a nice Mignola piece (Big Red or Dracula) to improve my collection. I know it is not going to be easy or cheap, but considering you all are great collectors, maybe you can help me out. The piece has to be a great illustration/splash/cover, published and as early as possible. A page definitely in the A range. Cash is the best solution, but I might trade something from my collection as well https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerydetail.asp?gcat=47928 Ciao Luca
  4. Man without fear 9K on Albert's website - summer break 2020 16K on Glenn Bruswick website today more or less +1k per month https://panelpageart.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=783
  5. Do you know any Italian collector that might help you out?
  6. Let's roll and thanks all for reading and voting for me! :-) Sandman - Mark Hempel - The Wake Not a big fan of his work, but on this page D'Isreali is perfect and covers all Mark's flaws. Hob Gadling is a plus. Sandman - Shawn McManus - A Game of You Got this piece from a black hole collector. A very nice page, featuring Dream receiving the dying world after the Cuckoo has flown away/died (Gaiman loves this run even if it's the less preferred by readers. There is a run on Fables which is almost a perfect copy of this one, when Therese travles to the broken toys land). Preacher - Steve Dillon - Proud Americans Nothing else to say here with Tulip and Jesse. A big shot of Jesse with a cig. Just before kicking some Grail's . Ennis and Dillon at their best. Darwyn Cooke - The New Frontier The only other artist who draws better women than Darwyn is Dave Stevens. Wonder Woman is resting when Superman (that tiny spot in the sky in the second panel) arrives, bringing bad news. It's for my wife. Hellboy Makoma pin up - Mike Mignola Got this one during the first CAF live. Had to sell one huge Mignola piece, but this one is almost as good as the one I had to let go. The Makoma story is great and wonderfully pencilled by Corben (I wish I had a page...). Hellboy and African animals plus a skeleton. HONORABLE MENTIONS: 1) I am a Vertigo guy. Invisibles by Chris Weston. King Mob and Ragged Robin. And Grant Morrison 2) Mike Mignola and Nyberg on Dracula. And the old man is there. Scary.
  7. Sorry, but I don't agree with the final list. Ok for Bachalo's death in the 10/20k range, but the Vess Shakespeare (2 out of 3 stories by Vess) and Ramadan (only PCR) are over 20k. I know it for sure as I know what collectors paid. And I don't own any, so no personal interest.
  8. So basically we agree on everything apart from Bachalo's death. Happy to hear that as I own a great example (which I won't sell).
  9. If my memory serves, Russell drew only Ramadan and Vess only the tempest and midsummers dream (and maybe a third episode).
  10. I am very curious about the response from the community. But I stand with my values, as I know what some people paid and.others are ready to pay. And how many people would kill for a ramadan page.
  11. 1 - I totally agree 100% with you. I love dringenberg's death and I would love an example, but it is too dark and Siouxie (without the banshees). Bachalo is the definitive death artist. 2 - probably a small apartment. I know at least two collectors who owns excellent examples from that issue, but they would never sell. And I would do the same. 3 - we are talking about a seminal story and maybe less than 80 pages. If you don't count the pages without D, with D's back and with a lot of stats, maybe we have 30/40 pages.
  12. I totally understand your point. I would suggest considering splitting the 10/20k category in 10/15k and 15/20k. Probably it is more complicated, but my opinion is that between 10k and 20k the difference is bigger than between 20k and 30k. Hope this makes sense.
  13. Oh well, I am curious now. Is it.on caf? I have had many pages in the last years floating around me and not even one reached that amount. As far as I know, one issue is still intact (if my memory serves it was owned by Peter David), one is almost missing and one has been sold/traded by the brothers. Did you buy your page from them? In this case you should cut in half.the price paid! :-)
  14. As some of you might known, I have been helping, in the last years, fellow collectors buying/selling pages from the sandman, so I know some of the prices from private sales. I think that the range 10/20k and 20/30k is too big, maybe we should split them in 10/15k, 15/20k etc. Let's start for Bachalo's death: I can say that it's pretty hard to reach 10k. Maybe the best pages can reach 12k, but 20k? Maybe one or two from the first mini and one from the second (Titles or splashes). So I think we have to lower the values (and I am a proud owner of one wonderful page). Kelley Jones 10/20k. No way you can get an A page from his issues for less than 15/17k. I would buy any page A page for 10k. If it's a top moment from season of mists or a dream of a thousand cats, I'd say we are over 20k. Thompson 10/20k? Too much even if it's dream destruction and delirium. Normal A page is around 15k. Can't see and Thompson page reaching 20k. Then there is Vess: midsummers dream is easily 20/30k. Easily. The tempest 10/20k. PC Russell on Ramadan: easily 20k/30k. Hempel, McManus, Bachalo, Zulli all over 10k. Depending on the moment of the story they can go up in value. To make a long story short, there is no way you can get a nice Sandman story for less than 10k, maybe 15k . They are hard to find and very expensive (and I don't think it depends on the new netflix show). Hope this helps and, of course, I am open to discussion. Ps: I have re-read this post and it's very confused, don't know if it's because English is not my mother tongue or because the situation of Sanan art is very complex and always evolving. Ciao, Luca
  15. When it comes to showing sandman art, I am always the first in line!
  16. Personally, I have been trying to snatch a nice V for Vendetta page for quite some time and have offered my Sandman page(s) in trade: why, you ask? Because I know that if I sell my Sandman, waiting for the right V page, I will end up with no money (as I will probably spend it over the months/years) and no art. I would agree to sell my Sandman if the V page is immediately avaiilable from another collector, but that is not going to happen easily. This is my personal point of view, but I am sure it is very common.
  17. Agreed. Plus the main characters and the dark carriage. This is a 8k pages then!
  18. Yeah, that's him. But not expressing his real power! :-)
  19. Hello folks, I am happy to upload my new purchase. I have been looking for an early Mignola for quite some time, and Dracula was my first choice. True, Drac is not on the page, but I think this page has everything I was looking for. Comments as always welcome! https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1667243 Always trading my sandman to acquire a V for Vendetta. Luca
