  1. How much do you think this one will sell for? Luca
  2. Hello everybody I have been able to aquire a new Sandman page, so my offer is still on the table. I am willing to trade one of those (with cash involved if necessary) for: - V for Vendetta: V must be on the page - Miracleman: by the original writer, preferibly Davis or Totleben but not mandatory. I know it's not going to be easy. Here is my CAF if we want to talk about trades or partial trades https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerydetail.asp?gcat=47928 Ciao Luca pestonaccio@gmail.com
  3. Hello folks, I have been able to add a new Sandman piece to my collection! It's from issue 59 and features Dream and Hob Gadling; Hempel draws and D'Isreali inks. I'ts mainly "talking heads", but with Gaiman writing, I can't complain. CAF link is here (with all the page history) and comments are always more than welcome: https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1661001 Luca
  4. Hello fellow collectors, after a couple of good sales I have some money in the bank that I am willing to use to buy some great art. - Mignola: Hellboy or Dracula. No small unpublished illos, sketches, pencils only etc. Need to be a nice example. - Cooke: the way he draws girls always amazes me - Sandman: oh well, I am addicted, so any issue from 1/75 is fine for me. Dream or an Endless is a bonus. - V for Vendetta: V must be on the page - Miracleman: by the original writer, preferibly Davis or Totleben but not mandatory. I know it's not going to be easy. Here is my CAF if we want to talk about trades or partial trades https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerydetail.asp?gcat=47928 Ciao Luca pestonaccio@gmail.com
  5. Thanks to all. Yes this piece goes on the wall and, being a gift to my wife, it won't probably go anywhere for many years!
  6. Nothing else to add. I wanted a perfect piece and this has it all, including a small superman. The way Darwyn draws girls is incredible. https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1644217 Luca
  7. I can see a difference between the first stories and the last ones; if you give a look to any seed of destruction page, you will notice that they are more "detailed". With the years, Mignola's style has become more "concise", with fewer strokes and more blacks... But that is a real evolution of style. Won't talk bad about Frank, but his works stopped being interesting after the first sin city mini.
  8. ... which happened thanks to the first CAF live con. Needed some time to finalise it, but the seller was extremely patient and helpful. Any comment on CAF is welcome https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1642357
  9. Page has been sold, thanks to all the collectors that have emailed me.
  10. Hello folks, In order to raise some funds for a bigger purchase, I am offering this incredible piece for sale for a short period. It has been published has promo poster and frontispiece in HB paperback. Accepting offers over 12k. Will be back in my permanent collection on Sunday. Luca
  11. Italian collector here, just like Carlo. If you want send me his name privately, i might help you out. Luca
  12. I do remember the story. And that friend is not a friend anymore. Maybe he never was. Anyway I just wanted to know if a trade offer was possible or just sale, that's it.
  13. Just a quick question. Price must be displayed and I totally agree with it, but can I offer one page just for trade (and of course I will type down what I am looking for)?
  14. thank you. I have re-read many books during this quarantine and have fallen in love (again) with some runs; unfortunately funds are limited, so a trade or partial trade is all I can offer now. Luca
  15. Hello folks, as many of you might know, I am a Sandman collector (run 1/75); I am willing to trade a page from my collection for a very fine example of V for Vendetta and/or Miracleman/Marvelman by the original writer (Totleben or Davis). Watchmen is part of the game too, but I fear the value of the good pages is too high. You can find mu collection here https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerydetail.asp?gcat=47928 Ciao and stay safe! Luca
  16. Although Sandman is my favourite character, the page I am looking for has to be from the original writer's run. Totleben is my favourite, but I am open to any possibility. Thanks.
  17. Hello fellow collectors, as some of you might know, I am a huge Sandman fan and I try to buy all the published art I can from the 1/75 storyline... But sometimes I need to remind myself I am a Vertigo-boy and I grew up while reading some incredible storylines. The British invasion was my cup of tea and I remember fondly the days spent in my local comic shop while buting/talking about these books! Please find here attached: 1) Preacher page from issue 20 - two eyed Jesse with a cig and Tulip. That was just before he went to save Cass in Masada, leaving her alone AGAIN. A nice trade with Albert that didn't end up in a blooshed. Fun, fast and super enjoyable. Do you think this might be an A page? Almost there? 2) Invisibles vol II from issue 16 - King Mob and Ragged Robin with a bomb. Nothing better that Morrison's craziness on this perfect Weston's title/splash page. I can't thank Simon M. enough for helping me out with scoring this piece (wasn't easy, wasn't easy. I owe you one, man). Any comment on CAF ia always welcome. Ciao, Luca from a quarantined Italy
  18. Thanks J.Sid for linking me this topis which I was unable to find after many years. After re-reading the whole topic, I can say this page is definitely not an A page as some elements are missing (SoK, basically) but it is extremely dark and noir, from a great storyline (Proud Americans), intense moment (Jesse finally learns how Genesis was born - straight from the mouth of an Angel, Genesis' father) and incredible art by Dillon (great use of shadows). I dare say it is a solid B+ then, but I am extremely happy about it. Comments on CAF always welcome: Preacher 23
  19. Thank you J.Sid for your opinion and for having quoted the topic I was looking for. I will re-read it all. I thought there was an A++ category, but my memory didn't serve properly; and yes, if you value A pages between 3/5K, this page is definitely not an A. I said an A-- but then it might be a B+. But I am happy with that. PS: I prefer early Dillon.
