  1. Thanks Robot Man

Well, the boomerang base is 50's era I believe... The mic though has been a little tougher to pinpoint as there are a few variations of this model. Unfortunately, the plate that contains the serial & model number is missing. It could be late 40's... though I'd say it's more likely to be 50's as well. Without the plate though, it could even be from the 60's...

I plugged into an old amplifier today, it's going to need alittle cpr before it's fully functional. After the cpr I'm thinking about putting it to use on a old CB. It's a great radio microphone and it displays beautifully.

  2. Update!

A few months back I found the green stem Creature Pez dispenser at a flea market for $10.

Ever since that day I've been actively searching for the other Universal Monster Pez dispensers... There are a total of three, Creature, Frankenstein & Wolfman.

I haven't had any luck finding Frank or Wolfman. However, I discovered there are a few variants of the Creature. I did manage to pick up one of these variants. It's an orange stem green head Creature.

I also went ahead and dug up a couple baseball memoibila cases and cut up some upholstery foam padding to help display the two pieces.

I was also able to broker a deal with a coworker of mine for this beautiful microphone. A dated stainless steel mic on a cast iron base. It reminds me of the Rocketeer :cloud9:

  3. My wife and I are looking to get a little bit more into vintage toy collecting so when I saw this on CraigsList for a very competitive price it was worth the drive to go get it! It's complete and in the box (which is in amazing shape as well). It's an original owner toy which is pretty cool too. The ship itself has some yellowing of the plastic but all in all it's so awesome! It's my first CraigsList score! :headbang:

    Awesome!

  4. Various gumball machine prizes from the 1960's.

Frankenstein pencil topper/charm is the rarest of the batch (hard to find in this color). It has a loop atop its head to wear as a charm or you could simply use it as a pencil topper.

Also pictured is two skull rings. These are fairly common, though I hadn't seen either of these in these colors before now.

  5. A great end to a 3 day weekend!

I found these gems during a revisit to a flea market booth that I found a monster flicker ring and wolfman pencil topper at a few weeks ago. Just goes to show that one can easily overlook items during a first go around. $1 for all 3 pieces!!!

I also picked up a horror movie treasury hardback and two 8mm films from another dealer at a different flea market. Very pleased with the transaction for $11!

Best for last...a grail find for me in the wild... I wandered into an old antique mall and found this beautiful set of famous monsters pins. These are gorgeous! After several minutes of haggling I was able to pick up this set (from its original owner!) on a trade plus $50!

  6. Have you ever found anything in the pocket of a jacket or pair of pants at a yard sale/thrift store? A guy at work was explaining to me that ALL of the rumors I've ever heard about people finding wads of cash or other valuable items in the pockets of clothing are absolutely true... He is a fan of the "white elephant" sales at churches for this reason.

I've only found buttons and religious pamphlets in the pockets of clothing at these places. Have you had better luck?

  7. I have never come across a plastic monster pencil topper like this one, I'm pretty familiar with the rubber ones that typically command roughly 5 bucks each. Now, some of the old 60's Universal Monsters & Famous Monsters of Filmland mailaway flicker rings command between $50-100 each! This one though, I'm thinking is more in the $10 range... Who knows (shrug) both pieces are for my personal collection anyhow... I'm just always blown away when I find stuff like this in the wild for a killer price.
