  1. I shared earlier this year I had a Walkthrough x-men 1 get lost. It was well marked and turned up months later
  2. This will be the third "bigger" show I have been to this year. I have focused more on filling runs and the odd off the wall key that is not hype driven this year. I have been able to find those at the last two shows. First day digging have been good on both I went to, although a couple dealers in Orlando held off having their boxes available day 1, their wall books were up and selling but they had sheets over the boxes. The crowds were much lighter on day one. I have a couple bigger books I would like to snag like SC4 but have given up on landing a deal at a show this year just due to how the market is, I have done better on CL and CC on those type books later in the year. I hope Baltimore has a nice selection of boxes to dig through as well as the typical wall book offerings. Pretty excited, this was the only weekend there were no UGA games so it worked out.
  3. I don’t think the issue was posting auction results, we did see people posting an update every time a bid was made on the auctions running. Folks would post an update, log into their other user account and repeat the same info. I like seeing new owners post their books but based on traffic that may not be reality any longer.
  4. So you guys are saying these are not strong investment books? joking of course but I have won more of these type books this auction than in the past. I have been looking at grabbing all the Marvel Star titles and had been getting way outbid on those lately. Run collectors are doing well if they are buying. I have landed several copies in this auction for way less than past asking. I had WTB ads for a couple runs and we’re getting books offered at twice market at the time, random issues even where I had bought for less than 20 bucks were being offered at 100. I almost responded asking if they could sell my under copies for half. At any rate it is nice to be able to pick up the off the radar books again at decent prices. These last few days have had so many books sell for less than the grading fees.
  5. Congrats, those were thought to win! There is a thread about the Ditko books in Silver Age if you wanted to share there as well.
  6. Awesome looks like about 80% of my auctions. GI joe is my go to title to “fill the box” to offset shipping. Once I would land one of the bigger books I would swing at most of the Joe books. I actually have some books I need in the final sessions so only bid on the 25 and 80 in 9.8. And yes you did well on those.
  7. Throw whatever is left in my pile.
  8. This was part of an OO collection I bought a long time ago. Noticed several Avengers higher grade duplicates had the same hand written prices on the back so I guess he bought second hand to upgrade his other copies. What do you guys think?
  9. I have but never sent them raw before, it was more of a joke since nearly each issue has been noted as tumbling, they went to Joey first so I expected them to take a while. 4 of them I bought off the rack. I sorta hope they got mixed up with @greggy 's submissions so they get through as fast as his normally get through.
  10. Good thing these books got sent in in April based on current sales trends
  11. I kinda wonder how many of those pics are dealers. I think you will be surprised at what shows up for them to buy. About 8 years ago I had someone answer a Craigslist ad saying they had sealed cases of comics. Since I collect GI joe I was all over it and bought all the books, There were a min of 25 of most titles in this era, The Nam, GI joe, transformers etc. 200 copies of Gi joe 24 was the highest Count And I paid about 10% of cover price (probably less since I paid 400 for everything) since I bought them all. I could sell 2 copies of a couple of them in 9.8 and recover the initial investment. Now it would take forever to sell them all granted but margin wise a dealer could do well. I did send in a stack to cgc to start selling. If GI joe 24 is still selling for what it sells now in 9.8, one book will recover the initial investment. I also recall Rick selling over 100 copies of IH181 a year so supply for some books never hurt.
  12. True, I was scanning and not sure there has ever been demand in the past to have 29 copies of Eternals #1 in one auction.
  13. Thanks for putting this together. Avengers Annual 10 in 9.2 is in my stack, pretty much due to what you posted above. I mentioned in the Wins thread, I have won more books in this one (granted several are like the Avengers Ann 10) than all the others combined and so far it may be the smallest invoice this year.
  14. I have won more books in the current CL auction than all the others combined this year, was able to grab a few High grade Tomb of Dracula books I needed to upgrade for what people were asking for raw and in lesser grades a few months ago, same for TTA. A few below, Did swing at that Vampirella 1 in 7.0 and was sniped last minute.
  15. Ugh, I needed that TOD 1 for my raw run, guess I need to start evaluating if I need sleep or not.Nice stuff as always
  16. Not sure if they had "Steve Ditko" inside of them but there was this lot that had a coverless 13 with "Steve" written on the inside with no note of the writing on the label. This lot sold for $5280.
  17. I agree, just in this day and age I assumed they had been.
  18. Since I was on an airplane and missed out on a lot of good books. Take those two.
  19. Mine finally arrived . Surprised they did not get pressed while cgc had them.
  20. I think it looks great, just sharing, it does look like the edge is not as sharp there, like it is above and below.
