  1. How has everyone faired this year? I was just updating my list and noticed I have sorta been focused on the list.

    Big Key
    Showcase 4
    Stretch
    Incredible Hulk 3
    Primer 2

    Standard
    Spawn 174
    Iron Man 55
    Conan 1
    Ewoks 1
    Showcase 27
    Wonder Woman 200
    Brave and Bold 57
    Transformers 8
    Shield 1

  2. When Heritage had these no one mentioned them on here until right at the end of the auctions and I am not sure there was any social media awareness. Could be that Mark felt they could have been marketed better. Based on what I have seen here and social media that has happened, now we will see if it has better sales impact. I for one was happy the first run was under the radar.

Here are the 2 being shown on Facebook to compare with HA. Would he have multiple copies of the same book on hand? Maybe. But who put these in the HA auction? The nephew?

The Nephew submitted them, Heritage had a write up in their catalogs in the September auctions last year. I am surprised HA did not get one of the "big" books in with the run they had.

I was bidding on a few and the prices were above what I expected them to go for.

The coverless copies had Steve written on them based on the pictures but the other books had no notes of names written on the inside.

I’m sorry sir but I forgot my HA password (yet again) so as can’t see what this book sold for. Might you help a brother out? Thanks in advance

There were several, I won issue 27 that  I posted. The bidding was pretty intense on them.

    ASM 16 6.5 sold for $2760

    ASM 31 6.5 sold for $4560

    ASM 6 3.5 Sold for $3120

    ASM 33 7.0 sold for $8400

Just to give you an idea.

I’ve transitioned to reading a ton of FF and gotten really engrossed in the stories. I have an FF5 and now and FF3 so I’m thinking with an FF1 I can really start working on a run

If you have owned those books you have for a while they have appreciated at a higher rate than the FF1 so personally I would do it. FF1 has been pretty steady during all the craziness but it is not nearly as easy to find as your other books and it only takes a few people looking at once to drive up prices. Plus you can get in at today's price and look to upgrade. It is a great run to put together, so many great characters and villains.

I've been selling some books on CL.

My quality stuff has still done well, but my "small potatoes" stuff has gotten pummeled.

Some examples..... all of these books are small potatoes, but still, I wanted to make more than they sold for.  I hope this trend levels off.

My Xmen 101 3.5 sold for $128 which is about HALF of the last sale a month ago.

My Xmen 100 5.0 sold for $77, which is about $35 less than the average.

My New Teen Titans 1 9.4 sold for $88 which is $50 less than average

My Hulk 182 4.0 sold for $61 which is a laughable $94 LESS than the average. :pullhair:

My TMNT 6 9.0 sold for $31, which is less than half of the average (did I even pay for the slabbing cost on this one, lol?)

Last night my Conan 1 -5.5 sold for only $232.  Ugh!  The last GPA for that one is $439.  Man.... I just want it back now.

Hate that for you. As a buyer I have bought Conan 1's in the last three CL auctions due to the prices.

I agree. Those 2 books suffered the most in terms of a drop in price for mega key silver age books in practically all grades.

The FF 1 8.5 copy sold for what 100k less than the previous two 8.5's that sold recently. Ouch!

I was looking to upgrade my X-men 1 during that time and watched/bid in auctions that wound up pushing me away from even trying. It and a few other books were just racing so high too quickly and made me wonder if the new money had ever been to a show. 3-4 years ago X-men 1 was easily found at several dealers table in multiple grades, even on the last day.

I sold a dozen or so Mantle graded cards and the prices paid were astonishing. I have been looking for a Jordan rookie card and have noticed those and the cards I sold have had a sharp price decline (at least in the grades I look for).

I joked in another thread though, not all books are dropping hard, I had hoped to finish off my Hulk 1-6 run and certainly paid a premium for an issue last month.

I understand what you're saying. I believe that the 70-100 Marvel Super Keys will always respond as their own category because they will always be in legitimate demand regardless of the market. It's the rest of comicdom that stands to crash, all of the unjustifiably high-priced non-key books that Fools overpay for at garage sales and the "forced key" books that go viral after a youtube video or social post claims them be so because of some imagined movie cameo etc. The six Hulks will always be coveted no matter what price they're going for. (Hope this is what you meant?)

I agree and that was sorta my point, I did think the grade and market conditions might draw up a bargain but that assumption was not close tonight.

Ironically I had another WT get lost or hung up, was a prescreen (so understood that delay was going to put it in the 25 day range) and has been there since 6-8 still showing received so results may vary.

To pile on the Economy bandwagon. A year ago the TAT was almost half of what it is today, but got worse over the next 45 days.

My Economy Books made it to Joey in March of Last year and are in the 8-12 SFG group that has not moved.

Here's my last Fast Track Economy Sub

    Received 3/8/22

    Shipped 4/6/22

It blew me away how fast it came back.  LESS THAN A MONTH TURNAROUND.

Meanwhile, my Slow Economy was delivered 5/30/21.... received 8/11/21... and still in SFG status

In 2 days I will hit my 1 year anniversary since I shipped it to them. :(

    How was the grading?
