The very same thing happened to my Cap 25 I had been with the shop for 20 years and was collecting the Civil war collection of titles and Boom everything but was in my box. I closed my account but not before writing a letter to the owner telling him how loyal I was as a customer when I could have been using a cheaper service and this was the way I was treated. He personally apologised and gave me both my copy plus the variant for cover price, the teller at the time just shrugged his shoulders at me closing my account as it did not matter to him. The laugh is he thinks that HE is going to run the shop one day, which he might do for a week no longer as he is witless.

Amazing Spider-Man Collecting Thread!
tv horror replied to Point Five's topic in Silver Age Comic Books
I'm down to my last 3 issues AF15 (only a lotto win) Amazing 1,2 then the complete run to the end of Superior all the annuals Giantsize and satellite titles. I would say all my silver age are roughly 3.0 to 4.0 but I love them no matter what. I figure if I'm lucky I might get about £2000 for the lot even though I've never seen a run here in Belfast. If anyone in Ireland has a full set I would love to know just to prove I'm not insane? -
And remember it's all down hill from there! Enjoy your trip.

How many AF15s have you found in the wild?

Forget Doc Ock as Spidey's greatest enemy it was MOM who holds that honour. -
Wait...I never had anything slabbed nor do I intend to but are you saying that all grading is not a fixed price? So the more rarer comic will command a high price, now that's unfair and must put off a lot of collectors.

I never said that he should not be rewarded in fact I welcomed it, there are so few people that are honest these days and it's nice to know that there are MANY on this forum. Now that Marwood fella and his Homer are another matter lol.
-
Way to go now tell him to get that lotto ticket!
-
I do think that the company should reward the finder after all he has to take the responsibility to ship them back and in my opinion sweat blood until they arrive. Also if it were my books I would seek compensation for the stress what is the old saying fool me once? I wonder if they are a member as it would be interesting hearing their side of the story.
-
I hope he bought a lotto ticket that day? Seriously "3" how greedy can a person get as I suspect they may not be as rare as some people want us to think...Paging Mr Holmes!
-
I once had the flea problem because for some reason they knew my dog was dying and decided to "jump" ship, they were everywhere even living on the wood grain of my doors. First we threw out all the bedding and vacuumed the seating then we washed the doors and floors with bleach for a few days, then nothing! I hope that works for you.

SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING starring Tom Holland (7/28/17)

The only time it was sort of a way used was the ferry scene when the laser cannon went wild you could see he was clearly dodging the beams. -
SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING starring Tom Holland (7/28/17)
tv horror replied to Bosco685's topic in The Movie Forum
From the 40" screen I can see a giant Gandolf shouting at Marwood "You shall not pass...Wind!" I know Spider-man as a whole is aimed at children but this movie left me cold, I liked the first Amazing Spider-man movie as the performances were spot on but Tom Holland just came across as a 90lb weakling. There was no sense of power it was a knock off Iron man, the suit was Spidey not the kid. Fair enough he is supposed to be 15 years old and even the scene trapped under the rubble came across as cardboard rocks. No Spider-man at this age would back off after the Vultures threat as he has yet to gain the confidence of his powers and he seen the Vulture as a monster. Unfortunately the sequel will have a ton of baggage character wise, May knowing, a sidekick Ned plus M.J (only likeable character) and the quiz team. Let him move away from this set up baggage and maybe the sequel will work. -
Any major comic theft go unsolved or unreported?
tv horror replied to comicalgems's topic in Comics General
The stolen thread is a great idea, however I believe that it could be some of our faults at times. We all love to show what we've collected and love sharing our hobby among friends and even online but remember this...Friends have friends and the list goes on. There was an article published once in a newspaper back in the early eighties here in N.Ireland highlighting this guys collection worth and such. The following week or so while he was attending church I believe, all his horror film poster collection was stolen and I don't know if he ever got any of it back. That's why I myself don't tell anyone anything and that goes for friends and work mates. -

They aren't Star wars I love horror movies and wrote to them long before 1977 and the Guinness one is a signed Ladykillers postcard. Believe it or not but I've written to all the horror greats Karloff, Price, Lugosi, Carradine all but Lugosi answered. I got the Lugosi one from my father as he met him during a visit to Belfast in the 50's while he played Dracula on stage. I'm not being selfish about the photos as I'm useless on the pc.- 49 replies

No, I find it more rewarding that they took the time to reply and that you are given the chance to say how much you enjoyed their work. However I feel that the autograph scribble makes it so easy to fake, don't forget that the definition of an autograph is an example of their handwriting not just their name.- 49 replies

My nephew was at the preview screening of Matt Smiths first appearance as Dr Who, Matt was there along with Karen Gillan and both of them signed an 8x10 still with scribbles. As there were at least 100 in attendance 90% children why scribble? I myself have got beautiful replies from Alec Guinness Peter Cushing even Christopher Lee and everyone of them took their time signing maybe it's the point of them being bigger stars and appreciating their fans.- 49 replies
