  1. I don't see why not there are tons of millionaires already. Anyhow I spoke my peace this is how I see it.....some people pay hundreds of millions of dollars for paintings without any worries so a few million for top key books in to grade why not.
  2. I was going to mention that. When Metro's 'prices paid' want list was still valid, the Heritage 9.4 went for what Metro was willing to pay for it. $450K is a lot of scratch for a 9.2 (I was offered one for a customer and he turned it down - money wasn't an issue) so someone must have really wanted this one bad. I don't feel the same way as you do I see AF15 in CGC 9.2 as a 1$ million dollar book in 5 years from now. Whoever got this 9.2 will be very happy if he holds on to it for 5 to 10 years (even more so if longer). I figure once Action Comics 1 hits 5$ million dollars in 9.0 we will see AF15 in 9.2 at 1$ million dollars. When people see AC 1 sell for so much 1$ million won't seem much after that for the King of SA books in 9.2. I would not be surprised to see AF15 in 9.2 go as high as 3$ million to 4$ million dollars in my life time (I am in my mid 30's). and I feel just he opposite. I think there will be some market correction/retraction 5-10 years. But what do I know I respect you Gator but AF15, Action 1 and TEC 27 in my view have very bright futures ahead. You could also throw in Hulk 1 and a few other major key books from the GA as well. I my life time I see the following happening: AC 1 9.0 = 12$ million dollars maybe up to 15$ million dollars TEC 27 (highest graded) = 10$ million dollars to 12$ million dollars AF15 9.2 = 3$ million dollars to 4$ million dollars Hulk 1 9.2 2$ million dollars to 3$ million dollars Cap 1, Sups 1, Bat 1 and so on will also be very high in value.

  4. I bet you if the seller had been a bit more patient (in this case maybe he would have got it right away or just a few days later) he could have got 475 000$ to 500 000$.
  5. What a beautiful 9.2 WOW!! Most likely a 1$ million dollar book in the next 5 years or so.
  6. Another reason to have it put in a new CGC holder there are people like me that will simply not buy a book if there is a crack in the CGC case. I live in Canada so it would be a lot of trouble and risky for me to send such a book to CGC to have it put in a new CGC holder. When I buy a book I always ask the seller to verify and make 100% sure there is no crack. It happened to me once and luckily I knew the seller and he paid for me to send it back to him then he sent back to CGC then sent it back to me here in Canada. That was ComicLink but truth be told I would not do this with just anybody I trust them. Maybe this is one of the reason you got it a ''good price'' maybe the previous owner just did not want to go threw the hassle of having CGC put it in a new holder. But this is just speculation on my behalf. You should buy a CGC pro slab to protect the CGC case once you get it put in a new CGC holder they sell them on Ebay just make sure to buy one that is for the newer type CGC case.
  7. I would have CGC re holder it then you will have peace of mind and the current state of the CGC will not get worse over time (it is the same as a windshield on a car with a small dot that becomes a long crack over time). I do not believe anything is wrong with your AF15 just a crack in the CGC holder I have seen this many times and CGC will re holder it at a low cost. As far as the ''smudge'' that is nothing.
  8. Do you have a link I just looked at HA but did not see them?
  9. In the winter I read beside my fireplace on the floor with my pet and also in bed but during the summer I try to spend as much time as I can outside at home and hopefully with some nice BBQ ribs, steaks or hamburgers going at the same time.....ah can't wait for that but I still have about 4 months before that happens again. I also like reading on the bus on my way to and back from work. I no longer have a car the traffic drives me up the wall (stop, go, stop, go move 2 inches then repeat for almost 2 hours each way it's insane....the buses have their own lanes so they just keep moving and it takes about half the time) so now with the bus driver doing all the thinking I can't just enjoy my ride in peace. And also everything I need is nearby so why pay for a car I would not even use that much. I rather use those funds for my hobbies they make me way more happy in the end!! Perfect example from the movie Office Space:
  10. Here's the list. All of these are from All-Things-Comics -Remaindered cover went for $2026. -page 2 went for $420 but then sold for $405 -page 3 went for $586 -page 4 went for $800 but then sold for $405 -page 5 went for $620 but then sold for $480 -page 6 went for $740 but then sold for $536 -6th wrap went for $1625 -page 7 went for $66 (kind of shocking that it went so low) -centerfold wrap went for about $500 -page 10 went for $105 -page 11 went for $112 -page 12 went for $382 -a different page 12 went for $350 -page 13 went for about $250 -a different page 13 went for $210 -page 14 went for $148 -a different page 14 went for $111 -page 15 went for $120 -page 16 went for $94 Wow, are these numbers for real? This is like 8k for piecing it out. That seems like way too much or am I crazy? In few years it will seem like a bargain it ''always'' does over time with AF15. It will most likely be valued at 10 000$ by then for a CGC 0.5.
  11. I could be wrong it is just a personal preference. I would rather have the cover detached inside the CGC holder than close it with rusty staples. But then again I am the type of collector that stays away from any book with rust like the plague.
  12. You should it is in my opinion critical to the long term safety of the book.
  13. I would not sell it to me it is a MEGA KEY (and very rare in non restored condition....even in restored condition it is a rare book) book with still lots of potential and plus I love the book!! It's a keeper for sure!! There is nobody that would not love to have it in their collection. But I would have it graded by CGC (and if there was rust on either staple I would have it removed before been encased in a CGC holder. Just in case you do not know rust can eventually migrate to the paper and that could cause significant damage hence why I would remove them both if rusted. Have CGC do it if possible). In the end I would much rather own this book within a CGC holder with a detached cover than a attached cover with rust on either staple.
  14. I just looked at Ebay there are a bunch of them for less than 10$.
  15. No here it is. https://comics.ha.com/itm/silver-age-1956-1969-/amazing-fantasy-15-marvel-1962-cgc-vf-85-off-white-to-white-pages/p/7158-1008.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515
