yes for some reason that looks really unappealing

Nice, should this be added to the old thread?
Here's one of them, but I think the migration is making it hard to find the older one

ooof $32k+ for 8 fake pieces yikes
there's a story linked from Bob Kane's wikipedia entry: https://web.archive.org/web/20090523105715/http://www.newsfromme.com/archives/2007_03_15.html#013103
QuoteBob had gotten to the point where he never drew anything. Never drew anything on the Batman comics, anyway. [Sheldon] Moldoff was ghosting them all and when he didn't, someone else did. The only thing I think Bob ever drew was when we'd be out somewhere, in a restaurant or someplace, and a pretty girl would come over to him and say, "Are you really the man who draws Batman?" Then he could whip out a little sketch for her, a big sketch if she was wearing something low-cut and would bend over to watch him draw.
One day I'm over at his house to discuss this newspaper strip idea we had and he's talking about who we might get to draw it. I was going to write it and we were going to get someone else to draw it. I'm not sure what he was going to do on it except sign his name. I said to him, "Bob, isn't it disappointing to you that you don't draw any more? You were once such a great artist." He wasn't but you had to talk to Bob that way.
He said, "Oh, no. Let me show you something." He took me into a little room in his house. It was his studio. I didn't even know he still had a studio. It was all set up with easels and things and there were paintings, paintings of clowns. You know the kind. Like the ones Red Skelton used to do. Just these insipid portraits of clowns, all signed very large, "Bob Kane." He was so proud of them. He said, "These are the paintings that are going to make me in the world of art. Batman was a big deal in one world and these paintings will soon be in every gallery in the world." He thought the Louvre was going to take down the Mona Lisa to put up his clown paintings. I didn't have the heart to tell him.
So a few months later, I'm up at DC and I ran into Eddie Herron. Eddie was another writer up there and we got to talking and Bob's name came up. Eddie said, "Did you hear? Bob's getting sued by one of his ghost artists."
I said, "How is that possible? Shelly Moldoff's suing Bob? But they had a clear deal. Shelly knew he wasn't going to get credit or anything..."
Eddie said, "No, not Shelly." Bob was being sued by the person who'd painted the clowns for him...

No, now the information is accurate enough such that a buyer wouldn't be able to argue they were, to put it bluntly, defrauded (and the fact someone got Ron Lim to sign the piece at some point after the previous sale doesn't help). And just in case it wasn't obvious, my issue is with the seller, not you.
I didn't notice that Lim signed it now...ugh
(yeh, it's not my sale - I'm the one complaining about the dishonest tactics so I don't think anyone would have a problem)

hmm...looks like he changed it back to say "Pencil and ink on Marvel Bristol board!"

So now only a trap for the unwary.
I don't see a buyer at $9,500 either way, but at least all the information is given unlike when it was offered on Pedigree.

I like it. I don't like much of his recent stuff. I don't quite $55k like it, but I still like it.

yeh, I don't get it. I never read this, but not feeling it on an image only level.

any comments on the Byrne Superman & Batman: Generations III (12 covers)?
I wasn't familiar with this series, but some of them seemed cheap for Byrne covers with Batman &/or Superman ($1700).

I'm still on the lookout for PUBLISHED Marvel Original Art (mid 1980s - early 1990s, no color guides etc) by these guys:
RON LIM (mostly Silver Surfer #19 - #65 covers, splashes, DPS, & other great pages, Captain America, but some others)
Jim Lee
McFarlane
Art Adams
Silvestri: Wolverine and X-Men
BWS
Keown, Purves: Hulk
Liefeld
Alan Davis: Excalibur
Larsen
Kirby (later stuff)
not interested in commissions or color guides or other unpublished work.

if all you collect is one artist I can see that having a big impact if you (or your family) needed to liquidate your collection

2-3x
from things I have seen sold at Heritage or CL then pop up on dealer's sites.

I think you might be able to make more of a bargaining deal if the art has been in stock longer & not sold. unless you're saying that they may raise the price if it doesn't sell, which also does happen.

That's terrific! I'm a huge Blevins fan, and sadly there's not much of his stuff floating around out there.
that's awesome! I rarely see regular pages come up, let alone covers!

The Artist Edition's has an agreement with the owners of the copyright of the material (which would be different from the owners of the physical art) that gives them reproduction rights.
The owners of the physical art may be given an Artist Edition as a thank you, but that's not payment, it's more of a courtesy.
The only thing you have to sell is the physical art.
(I AM NOT A LAWYER...)

hopefully still at those 2010 prices too!
